I called the Annandale post office that serves my zip code 22003 to ask a simple question. The menu led me to the customer service number which I called. I listened to that menu and it was of no help to me. Frustrated I finally said agent and got a recording saying my wait time to speak to an agent would be one hour. If I could it may have been easier to go to the post office, I cannot do that because I am home bound. read more

Since our postman, Bert, retired we can not seem to get the right mail to the right box. I have ended up with other peoples mail about 3 times a week. Yesterday, 7/17/2015, 6 pieces of mail where in my neighbors box and 1 piece of another neighbors was in my box. I can see it happening every now and then but several times a week is ridiculous. There is always mail sitting on top of the boxes that other neighbors find in their boxes. Just look at the apt number and compare then to the box please. Important things still do come thru the US mail. read more

I've lived here in Annandale over 20 years and receive other peoples mail at least 2 to 3 times a month.

Do not use this Post Office unless you have no other option. Unfortunately, since this is my "route" office, I have to put up w/ their antics on a regular basis. Completely unprofessional- run like a third world post office. Long lines- almost always, and no apparent expediency. The personnel who work there- ever so nice and friendly.......competent? Not so sure. They lose my mail and packages all the time- even after having been at our address for YEARS- I still have to hunt down my mail. Seriously bad. Latest adventure- we had them hold our mail while on vacation. They where supposed to resume service at a stipulated date. The lady at the counter- again, ever so nice, filled out the paper work, showed me how she requested the resumption of service, gave me a copy. Easy enough, right? A week back - no mail. I personally visit them to see whats happening- the same lady looks very concerned- searches in the back, and then tells me that it must be lost . My husband- who was waiting on sensitive business documents made the next foray to try and find our mail: less success, and they each tried to blame each other. .....the carrier says its the sorter, the sorter says its the lady who wrote the original directions, that lady says "mebbe they no read", and blames the carrier and the sorter. Told us that we must wait til the supervisor and our regular carrier are back in town to try to figure it out. Apparently every one is on vacation- and the system is in chaos. Meanwhile we are waiting on school schedules, the afore mentioned time sensitive business documents, checks, bills, etc., etc.. My poor husband- out of desperation, decides to canvass the neighborhood to see if the mail might have been misdelivered. Sure enough- third house- those poor people had received all our mail days ago, and had actually tried to send it back to be redelivered- but couln't get the mailperson to pick it up! Newman from Seinfeld would be completely at home working at this location. He'd probably be the boss! So again- do not use this post office unless you are in dire need. LONG lines, shoddy service, and a vision into the bizzaro world of how to run an operation. Note to Postmaster General - seriously, do some quality control. read more

Where do I begin? Annandale Post Office just about has to be the worst post office ever. I would give a negative star if I could. They have messed up my change of address in January of this year and still continues to not deliver my mail accordingly. I have gone in there multiple times and called and the problem still is not resolved. They have been the cause of many headaches and cost me a lot of money by not delivering important documents and packages. According to native locals of Annandale, it has been this way for years. This has got to be the worst post office in America. If you schedule a Hold, they will inevitably include some of the neighbors' mail in with yours. Recently, we had a change of plans and went in personally to cancel our planned hold on our mail. Of course, we then had no mail delivery for two days. When called, they insisted we'd placed a hold. They did not acknowledge our reversal of said hold and did not offer any comment. It took a trip to pick up our mail and once again to cancel the hold. My impression is that the supervisor here does not particularly care about running a good operation. At least the mail carriers spend less time on their cell phones when walking the neighborhood, but I never see them even glance at what they're delivering, to make sure the address matches. They must scrape the bottom of the barrel for employees.NEVER bring a package to this P O to be mailed .... odds are great that it'll be lost. read more

Is there a ZERO star option?? I HATE the USPS!!!! they are a bunch of morons and no one will own up to losing my package! They keep telling me they are "investigating" and they will call me back.... NO PHONE CALL!!!!! I have called 43865346564325643 different phone numbers and NO ONE CAN HELP ME!!! Half of them dont even speak english!!!!! I would rather pay extra $$$ for Fed Ex and UPS - can we save our taz dollars and get rid of the postal service already??? They are USELESS read more

If you live within the area serviced by this Post Office, you need to know that filling out a vacation stop and start for your mail will NOT result in its being held. The main reason appears to be the unfamiliarity of the mail deliverers with the English language; they do not seem to understand the use of dates as we write them in the US. For the third time in one year, we have had mail delivered when we were gone, although having filled out an online stop and start form. The only solution is for a neighbor to check your mailbox daily. Incidentally, when our deliverer was Emerson, this problem never existed. read more

My mail is delivered by this post office. Of late, the carrier has been coming after dark, so somethime we discover the mail in the box the next morning, Today we heard the carrier delivering in the late morning and said "great!'-- regular daytime delivery at last. But wait-- when we actually looked at our mail, 17 pieces of it belonged to 5 different neighbors on our street. I called the post ofice and after 35 rings someone answered. i told this unidentified person the problem, and they said someone would come out and pick this mail. Right now, I'm waiting to see. My husband is willing to deliver for the neighbors if no one shows today to pick it up. I wonder if we have mail scattered around too. read more

I have used the John Marr Post Office for over a decade and have grown to love everybody there.
