1/21/25 Open 24/7 unlike San Leandro USPO, thank you.

Quality/Quantity - Keep in mind I am grading on a curve... The high rating is due to the comparison with all the other poorly managed Post Offices... See other reviews; San Leandro and Reno. The lobby is open 24/7, thank you. I made the mistake yesterday of trying to drop off letters (5 inches worth. I know, due to my travels, I have not checked my mail for a long time) and a package in 3 SL post offices. The employees here are the best (again compared to SL and Reno). Far from perfect, but at least the majority of the employees here get the job done. Do not expect friendly or efficient service from any USPS. Atmosphere - 5 stars. Huge lobby, 24/7 for both letters and mail drop off. No homeless, well at least for a long time now. Not sure if the mall security watches this location also...? Plenty of mall parking. Easy in and out. Convenient to many other mall amenities, including my favorite Starbucks (sorry I have not been there in a while). Service - 3, good enough. At minimum they have not lost any of my packages. Price - N/A, see their websites. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1971 (formed in Washington DC) with your $80B in revenue. Much controversy about your profitability or lack of it. This is an "independent" agency of the executive branch of our US government. You have an amazing history dating back to 1775, but I will not go into that here.

Great day today ! No line just went to grab my packages quick in and out! Very peaceful experience!

Pretty smooth for a middle of the day on a Saturday. No line and options for different prices to send things. I got some free tape to seal my envelope. Friendly service.

This should be a negative review, but it's not because the system works. I bought something on Ebay. Yesterday the USPS reported it delivered to my house. I looked, no package! Was it stolen? Or was it mis-delivered to the wrong house? Well, it was insured and it had tracking. So I decided to escalate the case to "lost mail delivery." As soon as I hit the ENTER key, I got an email saying the USPS has forwarded my claim to the proper office. By 9:00am I received an email from the Main Post Office in Alameda, that by case would be investigated ASAP. By 4pm, I got a phonecall from a person at the Alameda Post Office telling me my package was found. The carrier delivered it to the wrong house. He recovered it, and delivered it to my house. Happy outcome.....

I attempted to send snacks to a friend in The Netherlands today. I didn't get her name but the African American lady working the retail counter was incredibly kind and patient with us. She showed us grace and patience with a sense of humor as we were fumbling around with boxes and bags of cookies. We ended sending only 1/3 packages due to the high shipping costs but we left with a funny story to tell and enough chips throw a party. Thank you for making our experience memorable and a little less confusing

I am here once again!

The staff at this Post Office are terrific...fast, friendly, helpful. At certain hours, the lines are long, but they move smoothly.

Ask the Community - US Post Office

Are there PO Boxes for rent at this location?

The lobby is full of PO Boxes, but I don't know if any are available.

Are you open the Saturday before Easter 4/17?

I just stopped in at post office. They will be open on April 17 from 10 AM to 2 PM.

But, I also needed to take a picture of my package (uh oh!) and would you believe that the postal worker here said "no, you are not allowed to do that." She said I could take a picture before putting postage on it, but not after. I swear man. A quick Google search will show that nowhere in the USPS policies does it say that you are not allowed to take a photo of your package after you have put postage on it--in fact, in the in the year of our LORD 2026, where e commerce is a fairly booming practice for... hmm I don't know, literally everyone, it is a fairly standard practice for seller to snap a photo for their buyers, to show that their items have shipped. Downtown Oakland

This post office in downtown Oakland is across the street near Ogawa plaza. The office is a long…read morechute toward the postal workers counter, surrounded by a huge circular series of post office rental boxes. I came here after seeing the huge line at the other post office on the other side of downtown Oakland, in the old, large courthouse building, that moved slower than a snails pace. Here, there were less people and 2 counter staff, so it was a breeze (although no free parking in front). Another time I came it took longer, only because one lady in line had dozens of flat packages to process, each one being weighed, recorded and processed. Either she was sending out investment portfolio prospectuses ( or is the plural propecti?) or 8" by 10" glossy photo prints, resumes, manuscripts and recipes in an old school kind of way to male pen pals around the world, in a precursor to Match.com, Tinder or OK stupid.

My receipt was printed at exactly 5:00p sharp so my transaction was completed by closing time. Instead of simply helping me, Larry kept going back and forth with me about how I was inconveniencing him by arriving so close to closing. He even said he still had to walk me out and unlock the door, as if that was somehow my fault. I'm leaving this review so management is aware of how customers are being treated. Larry was super rude, and if this is his regular shift, he needs customer service training or should consider a different job.
