I have been here several times after moving into the neighborhood a year ago. I will not be coming back- there are plenty of other nail salons in the area I would prefer to go to after a couple of things that didn't sit well with me. They have a dog in the actual salon that has free reign of the premises. Yes- a dog. As a pet owner myself- I get it-I would love to bring my little guys to work with me but there's a time and a place for everything and seeing as this place is a salon where people get their fingers, toes and waxes done here and there is certainly a risk of cuts and broken skin I feel like it's inappropriate and unhygienic. This brings me to my experience there this week: I work in healthcare and it's been rough. I've been working 12 hour days the past few weeks. On one day this week I popped in to get my eyebrows waxed and long story short apparently the lady decided I would look better with only one eyebrow fully waxed. I was told the wait would be a few minutes.. it was longer than a few. I'd say atleast 15-20. Which is fine.. as long as I'm told upfront. There were not that many clients there though. As a matter of fact, at least 2 technicians were sitting without clients. And I understand- not all techs are trained for all services. I was finally called back to get my eyebrows waxed. The lady waxed them without a word- but it didn't seem like she cared to take the time to be thorough. She handed me a hand mirror and I looked at it and they seemed ok... My eyes were tired, teary from the wax and I wasn't wearing my glasses and the eyebrows looked ok..... Then I got home. The lady missed a whole chunk of hair under my right eyebrow. Not one hair.. but a "few." I know I have fair skin and my eyebrows are lighter than a lot of people but when I got home and looked in the mirror and I could see them without glasses I couldn't believe it. I even tipped the lady 2$ and I got no "thank you", no "have a good night," no anything at all as I thanked them and walked out that night.... I came back the next day, after another 12 work day, and I politely stated that I was here the previous night for a wax and some hair was missed on one eye. The lady at the first desk (I'm assuming the owner) looked at me and rudely said she doesn't have time right now and to wait. I asked how long and she said half an hour or I can leave and come back. I let her know that it's already past 7 and I can come back tomorrow. She was very short and said to come right before they leave at 8... I don't appreciate the attitude she gave me- I paid them to do a service and they didn't do a complete job. The same woman was very nice to me the night before and I don't deserve a rude attitude for THEIR mistake. I was nothing but nice the entire time. I'm not going to waste my gas to go back a 3rd time. I will however tell all of my neighbors and friends that I recommended this place to before to go somewhere else. Maybe Nail Bliss just down Mannheim- at least they wouldn't let me walk out with 1 eyebrow done. Also, my sister came here a week ago and she got her nails done. It was snowing pretty hard so the place was empty. She was getting gels and asked for more rounded nails and ended up with square nails... she said they looked ok but it wasn't what she really wanted. I wanted to like this place bc of all the great reviews, but unfortunately I didn't. I would give four stars for my pedi which was good, but not amazing and a one star for service. The lady who did my nails didn't really talk with me while doing my pedi which was fine because honestly I don't really enjoy small talk while someone is doing my nails, but it was their lack of customer service of her and the other worker that really made know that I won't be coming back. I was embarrassed when I told my mum and sister to come while I was finishing up so they could get their feet done. They came in and waited five minutes awkwardly while the employees looked at them and said nothing, and then finally came up to them and said they couldn't help them, come back in an hour and half. Maybe they were booked solid, but I'm sure there was a better way to say it. And then when I came up to pay awkwardly and showed them the yelp app that says 20% off any service, he just looked at me and the app, and kept looking at it for a couple minutes like it was a nuisance. Then I know he made up a number because 20% of $25 is not $22. I will not be returning. read more

Jenny and her crew are amazing. I get the most perfect no chip pedicures here that last absolutely forever. My feet end up softer then they have been at any other pedicure spot that I have been to. It's a convenient location, and I can get an appt the same day pretty much always because they are so flexible with my crazy schedule. I am able to get creative with my nail shape and colors because Jenny is willing to experiment with my crazy ideas. I was able to do that crazy holographic powder nail trend I see all over instagram and I don't know of any other places around that will do it. read more

Jenny has a serious attitude problem. She was doing my nails and then one time she couldn't and Tony did them. Well frankly, I liked the way he did my nails so I asked for Tony to do them the next time. She has had a royal attitude ever since. Last I checked my money is still going into your household, well WAS going, because I will never, ever step foot in that shop again. Today...no hello, no eye contact. Grow up. If you have a problem with someone going to Tony, then maybe he can teach you a few things. I love the way Henry does my nails and pedicures and told him thank you because this is my last visit and told Jenny to have a nice life. There are too many other salons to deal with her. 1st time going to US nails Jenny was very accommodating with an appointment for my daughter and I. The location is a but hidden in the plaza next to the Dominick's that closed down. Both of the nail techs were very social and made you feel comfortable. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it. read more

This is absolutely the worst and nail experience I ever had! I am beyond disgusted by my whole experience I went in expecting an amazing experience and by far got no where near one i studied nail technology and am a graduate and everything they did was absolutely and completely out of scope of practice I had a guy do my nails I came in asking for a gel full set when I got sat down the guy who was doing my nails didn't even put a towel for me to rest my hands ! Talk about being absolutely unsanitary there was hand markings all over his tech desk which was pretty disgusting that he didn't even take the time to disinfect whatever didn't make such big deal but I was pretty disgusted over it so here is the issue when a customer asks for a FULL GEL SET I'm sure they EXPECT a FULL GEL SET! Anyways he started taking his liquid and powder out so I taught hm maybe he forgot so I told him once again I asked for a full gel set not acrylic so he grabs a little closed jar which said gel enhancement which I'm like ok that's what I want so wen he opens the jar there is powder on it ,now like I said I went to school for nails and I know there is absolutely no such thing as gel powder w liquid and I told him again I said I need a gel full set not acrylic he proceeded to show me the jar that said gel and said yes this is gel and began doing my nail I told him nooo! I said I want gel that is acrylic and again thinking I'm an idiot he argued that was gel he was putting me when I have him a look he talk to whom I believe to be the owner Jenny who told me that is the way they do gel and they put acrylic first and top it out with the ibd gel she had in her hands and said this is the one u want??? And I said yes that is the one I wanted n she said that the way they did it was $35 the one I wanted was $45 that the so called gel full set they put is more convenient for the customer I was apalled someone can be allergic to the monomer liquid or to the polymer powder and you guys are seriously putting something u make people to believe is gel well once I told her I was a nail tech as well she apologized and asked if I wanted the guy doing my nails to redo and do the one I wanted the one I had been asking for since I first got there and not to be rude I said u know what no he already started forget about it just finish it she proceeded to tell me she would charge me less $30 and at the end they would still seal it with the. iBD gel I asked for so I was like ok whatever I was still already extremely extremely upset at the fact they tried acting like I was stupid telling me the powder was gel but unfortunately for them like I said I graduated as a nail tech anyways apart from that and from him doing everything completely wrong my nail tips turned out crooked some nails look thicker than others and it literally looked like I needed a fill in already he even left a gap on one of my thumbnails ok so when he was done doing all that he proceeded to get the uv lamp so I taught ok he's gonna put the gel and he proceeded OMG like seriously this guy topped off my nails with gel top coat the one u put after the gel base and gel polish to polish the nails which is absolutely no ibd gel and is ridiculous if they are charging $15 extra to do their so called gel full set which in reality is just acrylic with gel top coat and I mean top coat not ibd gel for enhancements I was honestly already beyond mad at this point ready to leave after that he put his so called gel he polished my nails with regular color and topped out with regular top coat now knowing what I know that if u do this and put ur hands to dry with a dryer this gel top coat will krinkle and eventually ruin the polish well one of them started to krinkle horrible as I showed the man doing my nails and he just gave me a little smirk and apologized and fixed the problem which still ended up krinkle get all the other nails wen he left to the back anyways I was done and told the lady Jenny to just charge me n she asked if everything was ok so I told her very upset that it was not and showed her all the krinkled nails and even told her that if I was only getting charged for acrylics and she said no we did the gel for $30 are u serious I told no way was I paying $10 extra for gel top coat I told her I wanted the gel ibd and that's what she was gonna put ontop and I got gel top coat that is insane I told her the gel top coat people are paying $15 extra for a so called gel full set was just gel top coat which any person even without any experience can do home she told me that she would fix the krinkled nails which I told her this is the reason u guys don't do that well she started getting mad yelling at me telling me she had told me that's the way they did it n I said it's wrong but anyways I would keep writing my awful experience but it was too long I could I would give no stars but it wouldn't let me post anyways do not go here they over charge for so called gel pic down (2days later) read more

Let me first start off by saying that I am not new to nails. I had never been to Us Nails before and figured I would try them out. I had never had nice nails growing up. I always bit them so for years I would go get fake ones put on (both gel/acrylic) When my nails grew out under the fake nails I have taken them off and gotten no chip as well. So again I am not new to getting my nails done. Anyways, I went into Us Nails because I hadn't had my nails done in like a year and my nails had finally grown out and I do not bite them anymore. So yeah I want my nails to look nice. I went in for my first time at this place, October 23rd, 2017. I wanted a no chip but they did not have the color I wanted so they suggested that I do a gel over lay with regular nail polish and that it should last two weeks. Needless to say it did not. I called them and told them after only 7 days of them being on the tips were chipped. They told me to come in and that they would fix it. So I went in (11/01/17) and they suggested that I keep my gel overlay and to add a no chip on top and that it would last 2-4 weeks. They offered to do this with a change of color for only $10 as a "favor to me" so I could see how much better it was and how much longer it would last. I thought this was so nice of them. So I did that and gave her a $10 tip on top of the $10. I LOVED THEM!!! I was so very happy with them as they had last a little over 2 weeks. On 11/18/17, I went back in to get a fill and when I walked in the lady who originally did my nails said she had a client coming in and that the guy had time to do mine. So I sat down and took maybe 15 minutes to decide what colors I wanted. When he got to painting my nails, I was not crazy about they looked on my nails. I mentioned to him that I was not happy about it. He gave me push back and said that he could not change them because they are no chip nail polish and he would have to file it off and start again. I was a bit upset and decided that it would have to be fine because I was not going to argue about it when clearly he was not going to change it or fix it. There was a bubble in my nail polish that I mentioned and he again had a bit of a cold return as he was not happy about me pointing things out to him. So I just let him finish so I could just be done and leave. (I had been in the ER that morning and was exhausted and had no strength to sit and argue). That evening I realized my nails were bubbly, there was gel on my skin on the side of my thumb, nail polish on my cuticles, they were not properly filed, they were extremely thick as he did not file the beds of my nails enough. They look like press on's and/or fake nails. These are my real nails, not tips. So I want them to look real. Someone even mentioned to me that they looked fake. I did not pay $30 + tip to have them like this. This was only my third time there. So on Sunday (11/19/17) I tried calling to tell them about my nails to have them fixed and they were not open. So I left them a Voicemail. I called them today 11/20/17 at 12:15pm and they stated they had not listened to my VM yet. So I explained everything and how I was not happy with how they were done. She raised her voice at me told me that they would not fix them. I said to her I think you may think I am someone else, but she just kept over talking me and saying that because I didn't say anything before leaving they will not fix them. I explained the bubbles and how uneven they are and how there is gel on my skin, the no chip polish was on my cuticles, and how fake they look and she did not want to hear it. These are my real nails so I would like them to look real and not fake. I had also told her that either they could fix them, they could give me my money back to have them fixed somewhere else or I would make a complaint on yelp and the BBB. She did not care and told me if that will help me sleep better at night. She hung up on me as I was asking for her name. So here I am making a complaint on here, so others can beware of getting their nails done here. No one should pay to have go through this. I am sorry for how things panned out, but it was the very next day that I called and left a VM about the unsatisfied visit I had. I wish I could add the pictures of my nails on here. read more

I started coming here since August. Jenny explained to me how wonderful gel nails are so I went for it. Since then I've been coming back every 3 weeks to get gel refills. Jenny and her family has been charging me for gel and they have been giving me acrylic instead. My fault that I don't know the difference right? When I went to confront her about their dishonesty she yelled and accused me of lying even though I showed her my bank statements with the price of gel instead of acrylic. I've been going to US Nails for a year now. When we moved to Des Plaines I found them immediately on Yelp. Jenny and her husband Tony are the best! The rest of the staff (Nancy and Henry) are great as well. I look forward to my hour long relaxation time at US Nails on my biweekly visits.
