I went to this salon three weeks ago to remove my no-chip manicure, and to my extreme disappointment, the technician was not careful whatsoever in the removal process. She barely left the aluminum foil on, skimped on acetone as she barely put any on the cotton that she placed inside the foil, and filed way too much leaving significant denting in my nails and subsequent reddening of the nailbed on all nails. My nails have been very strong and healthy my entire life with multiple no-chip and dip manicures, but they ruined my nails. They look disgusting! The pictures below are even after I buffed them trying to decrease the denting they caused!
On June 15, I thought I'd give them a try but do a dip manicure instead since the no-chip clearly wasn't working. I elected to go back because they're super close to where I work out, and I was leaving for Europe that day so had to use my time efficiently after my early morning workout. I made an appointment at 9:30 AM two days beforehand for a dip manicure and a spa pedicure. When I arrived, the three ladies - none of who could communicate clearly in English - looked at me cluelessly and said I had to do a no-chip manicure because the lady who does dip (apparently only one of their employees knows how) does not work in the morning. I told them the appointment was made for a dip because of the damage from the no-chip and I specifically asked for it; they indeed were shocked at how their no-chip removal affected my nails but insisted I do another no-chip and proceed with my services because that's what was written in the book. So, clearly the lady who made my appointment either didn't understand me and wrote no-chip when I said dip like five times or she knowingly and purposely wrote "no-chip" so they can get the money out of some service from me. One lady was calling the dip girl to see if she could come in but couldn't reach her. Even after I told them that I had to catch an international flight and be at the airport by noon, that lady asked me to come back at noon to get the dip manicure!!!! Like do you not understand simple English or are you just choosing to piss me off by telling me to come back at a time I already told you I'll be in an airplane!?!? What a hot mess of a nail salon! As a result of their unprofessional practices, lack of understanding English, lack of communication, and deception, I had to drive 10 more miles out of my way to another nail salon that does the dip manicure. It was 9:50 by the time I left Park Ridge, it took me half an hour to get to the other salon, and my manicure started at 10:50!!! I then had to rush home to finish getting ready for my two-month trip, fix my hair, eat, and get to O'hare. I was late and just barely made my boarding time because of these incompetent fools.
When I asked for the manager's name, they wouldn't give me it and wouldn't tell me when she is available. I asked for complimentary services due to the inconvenience and they said "so so sorry we so so sorry call our manager she give you something" while nodding her head up/down to indicate "yes." I'm taking that as a promise for some kind of free nail service.
Unfortunately, I cannot call while I'm out of the country and won't be back until the end of August so hope that this review will address this horrible experience so that it will not reoccur or happen to another person! I'll be awaiting their call and complimentary nail services in hopes that they can redeem themselves and the horrible rapport they established.
Update 7/11/17: I received a "compliment" from a Yelp user named Xuan who didn't identify her position at the salon but simply stated that my photos aren't from their salon and directed me to remove them. Yeah, of course the photos weren't taken at your salon because I had to go to another salon since this one screwed up and didn't have anyone to do my nails because of their incompetency and inability to schedule and track appointments with accuracy!!! So yes, I took the photos at the salon where I went after I left the salon that day, where I actually was seated and serviced!!!!! Her comment shows her inability to even understand the situation or perhaps she didn't even read the review in its entirety, further demonstrating their lack of professionalism and concern for their clients and their satisfaction. I will not remove the photos as they are the outcome of what your service did to my nails and it certainly doesn't matter where the photos were taken. The damage is done. read more
