My wife and I went for an hour long reflexology. While sitting comfortably in the dim lit room together, our peaceful time was interrupted by my massage therapists cell phone. She happened to also be the desk manager. It didn't ring just once, she received multiple calls and even took the time to text with one hand while working on my foot with the other. And if the phone ringing wasn't bad enough, we got to listen to the washing machines running through several cycle. I had not read the reviews prior to purchasing my groupon. Perhaps then I would not have gone in. After having read the reviews, I do wish I got the name of my masseuse, as I received a very comfortable reflexology massage and I'd love to use her again. Space was calming and inviting, lighting dim and music relaxing. I was led to the back of the salon where many "beds" are set up together. All appeared absolutely pristine and clean and NEAT. There was one other woman being worked on and I was seated in a space furthest away. I was unprepared for part of my reflexology massage to include head, back, shoulders and hands. It was very relaxing right off the bat. I enjoyed the warm water foot bath and toweling as well as the blanket placed over me that was then pulled away to reveal the foot/lower leg being worked on. The end of the massage included a "waking" up of the body which I needed bc of being so relaxed and in a stupor and then having to get in the car again. I had come in on a whim, in between dropping off and having to pick my son up. In the hour I was there, I felt it was extremely relaxing and due to a quick snooze, quite rejuvenating. One sore point. I was asked if I wanted a back massage after it was all said and done. After having paid $39 for the 60 massage, it seemed strange that I was told $35 for 13 minutes. I declined. The place Westfield office, was very clean my therapist however did not speak much English but she was very understanding she did try to understand and I basically just told her I need a deep tissue massage I have a lot of muscle aches and pain and soreness from working out and from previous surgeries she did a great job she's doing and walked on my back and on my shoulders and always asked me if she was being too harshI informed her that most of the time with a "good" to let her know the pain was ok that yes I did wanted to be very deep tissue but she always asked every couple of minutes and was very very very good I left extremely sore " I loved it" it was about 24 hours ago and I'm still sore I definitely got my moneys worth one thing to remember when they ask you if you want more time remembered to ask how much lol not sure what all the negative reviews are about I did get a girl not a man she was very short and very nice she did not speak English but I do speak three languages so I kind a new to speak more with Hand gestures and common words than to try to have a conversation with her, frankly I have no idea if she is certified in the US but I know that she is certified to me as being very good at her job if you are not into deep tissue muscle aching release tension massage and you want to be just rubbed this is not the place for you but I will definitely be back here and recommended to people looking for that same type of deep tissue massage style. read more

As other reviewers have noted, they are not Groupon friendly. Well, I can't say that they are friendly otherwise, either. My sister-in-law gifted me the Groupon, but did not know at the time that I was in early-stage pregnancy. I called Urelax to tell them that I cannot lay on my stomach for long periods of time, but asked if I schedule a shorter time period. She said, no matter what, they would not give a massage to someone who was pregnant. Not that they didn't offer pre-natal massages, but that they don't massage pregnant women! Even if I could lay on my stomach for a short time. When she didn't like where the conversation was going she had the nerve to claim her "English is not so good" and to yell at me that nothing could be done and to get a refund from Groupon. Very horrible service. I booked my coupon through groupon. I called ahead of time to make a appointment and I informed the employee that I purchased the massage through group on.. On the day of my appointment I called for information on the address and the representatives Told me she was driving right now and hung up the phone. The phone number online is a cell phone. When I walked in no one was at the front desk I called out for 15mins before anyone came to assist me. 3 people came out and no one spoke English so it was hard to communicate with them. The desk rep asked for payment I informed her multiple times that I paid already through groupon but then she added I needed to pay taxes. This was the strangest message experience I have ever had- and I've had a lot of them. I walked in without an appointment and was told I could be served if i could wait which was fine. I went to the restroom and during that time, I guess the man who was running the desk decided to take care of me himself . what I really wasn't focused on was that he brought the phone from the front desk back into the room with us. We starting with reflexology. I liked the vibe of the room and was very relaxed even though this was serious reflexology and he hit several areas that were painful. I was almost asleep and the phone rang! This was a bit of a downer but overall I was impressed and decided to do a 1 hour body message instead of the 30 minutes I had requested. Into the message room and onto the table. No robe or blanket (just a scrawny towel)and it was a little chilly in there. Just a few minutes in, the phone rings again and he answers and books an appointment. After 2 or 3 more calls, my attendant, Steve, actually left the room. I wasn't keeping track of how long he was gone but it felt like maybe 10-15 minutes! When he came back he saw me glance at the clock and said not to worry he'd give me more time. The phone rang at least 3 more times and he stopped my message every time and answered it. He also left the room one more time briefly. The message itself was good although definitely was more back than full body. But it was impossible to fully relax with the constant phone ringing, his stopping and booking appointments and also actually leaving the room. I kept thinking he's not really going to charge me full price for this is he? But what do you know- not only did I pay full price but I paid a premium for using my credit card. Im really not sure what to make of this place. If there had been an apology and maybe a discount or a gift card for future services I would probably try it again. My first time there was a great experience. Good price, great massage, clean environment. HOWEVER, this 2nd time was not so enjoyable. During the massage, the guys (owner?) CELL PHONE went off two times full volume. And if that wasnt enough, he was answering the business phone TAKING APPOINTMENTS ALL DURING MY MASSAGE. HOW RUDE? What part of "U Relax" involves constant phone ringing? It was so unprofessional and he didnt even apologize or acknowledge how assanine it was to not only have the phone in the room but to answer it! People dont come to get massages to hear a phone ringing! After the massage, i refused to give a 20% tip because of the constant phone ringing. My friend and I both decided to give 15% (which was very generous in our eyes). Her masseuse def bitched to the owner because he then asked my friend TO GIVE MORE OF A TIP! How rude is that? Number 1, a tip is NOT mandatory and totally up to the discretion of the customer. He then explained that being their prices are so low, people usually tip high. Basically all she did was rub oil all over my back and legs, she never even touch the front of my body. I purchased a groupon and booked an appointment for a couple's massage, and they canceled on me because of inclement weather. I called the following week to reschedule, but they did not have any available appointments. I said I would call back to see what other dates I had available to schedule again. I called a third time during normal business hours, and it went to voicemail three times. The voicemail instructed me to call another number or to "text" it. What professional business says to text them? I called the other number, and it went to the exact same voicemail! I then decided to text the number, and the woman texted me back almost immediately. Of course! She told me that she did not have any couple's rooms available for the date I wanted, and then did not respond to any of my subsequent texts. OK, fine. I made my final call the next day to confirm if they had any cancellations, and she recalled our previous interactions. She became very angry and started yelling at me saying how people buying groupon are so picky....the only request I had made was for us to have female therapists! She thought that was such an outlandish and unusual request. I proceeded to tell her that I was talking to her calmly and did understand why she was yelling at me. She then said she spoke Chinese and did not understand English very well, but she has enough balls to yell at me....a customer. So much for the name, U RELAX. She eventually began to awkwardly laugh to play it off and ignore the situation. I would not let her get away with her terrible customer service....she eventually started speaking Chinese to another man, great she's talking about me! A man got on the phone and said, "you want to book an appointment?" I said forget it, he said "you forget it?" And then I hung up. Do not waste your time, perhaps the massages are good, I will never know. There is no way I would step foot in there knowing that the front staff/owners treat any customer that way. I didn't feel well and stopped here hoping it would relax me and make me feel better. The atmosphere is wonderful. The room has 5 very cozy oversized reclining chairs. I purchased the hour reflexology massage and the time flew by. I have enjoyed several very good reflexology sessions at this spa. I have given gift certificates to members of my family and I have always looked forward to a relaxing and healing session. Today when my husband and I left the spa in unison we stated" Never going back". In a reflexology session you become accustomed to how it should flow. The therapists today not only were all over the place in that regard when I opened my eyes to see why I felt no continuity I saw the two woman chatting and obviously not paying attention to what they were doing. Owner/receptionist was very abrasive and immediately asked for payment of NJ sales tax in addition to the Groupon number, I'm not sure that's kosher. The massage itself was so so. I'm pretty convinced they were not licensed or had any training, a good portion of the massage was actually on my spine. The deep tissue massage mostly consisted of fast and abrupt strokes coupled with kneeding of elbows and knuckles. Can't say I would go back. read more

I purchased a gift certificate for a 60 min deep tissue for my husband. His apt was for 2:30pm and when he arrived 15 min early he found NO ONE in the store. mind you the doors were open and music was on but no employee in sight. My husband called the phone number on the store window and a woman picked up telling him that someone will be there in 5 min. At 2:55, the woman who answered the phone came in with other employees. The woman began telling my husband that the reason for the delay was that they were stuck in traffic. She then began trying to persuade him into getting a foot massage and not the 60 min deep tissue that he made his apt for. He argued with her for a few minutes and when he was finally brought into a room a MAN walked in to do his massage. Understandably, my husband requested that a woman do his massage but was told that if he wants a woman he would have to reschedule. He was furious and reminded that woman that not only did they not ask for his preference when making his apt, they never even asked for his NAME! Needless to say he left and will not return. I called to have my money refunded the same woman blamed my husband for # 1, not being understanding that traffic was the reason why they left the doors to the store open but not one person in the store to do his massage on time. # 2, he wanted a deep tissue but there was no one on staff to do the massage that he made an apt for and # 3, when he was making his apt he did not specify a male or female masseuse but that's OK because they didn't even ask for his name. She also refused to refund me my money even though the experience over all was horrible. I would rather loose the money than step foot in that place. read more

Listen: if you want the glitz & the glamour experience and to be waited on like in the ritzy places (in addition to paying top dollar, might I add), this is not the place you are looking for. However, if you want a solid massage for a really good price and don't care much about "ambiance", then I highly suggest you try Urelax. Both times I have been there I have walked out feeling amazing. This past time, I was so happy I had to write about my experience! I get horrible knots and tension in my back/shoulder area, and the woman I had was AMAZING at getting out the knots. I'll be honest, it did hurt at moments when she was really getting into the knots, but I sucked it up because I knew it was going to be worth it. If you are the type to not want any kind of pain, either make sure to let them know before or maybe this is not the place for you. She did ask me if it was too much, I told her it did hurt but to keep going and I felt like I was walking on clouds after. Full disclosure, the next day I was a bit sore where the knots once were, but I read that was normal and by the 3rd day all the tension and any soreness (and knots!) was gone. I have been to the more "high end" places only to be disappointed over and over again after paying a lot of money because the pressure was never firm or the massage was just mediocre. I've been to this place about 6-8 times since they opened. I've had 1 hour massages and 1 hour foot massages. Some better than other but none that have been bad. I find the men are better there than the woman. Daniel is probably the best so far. The woman in the front only wants your money which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Alright, but if u think U RELAX will get your relaxed you better remain in the waiting room. I'm sure there are people that enjoy having small Asian woman jumping on their backs trying to crush your bones..however we didn't enjoy the feeling of getting run over by a truck. My wife told them to take it easy and reduce the pressure but this package doesn't relax you. For certain individuals looking for torture instead of harmony this is the place to go! Also, be prepared to give a mandatory 10 dollar tip (which we refused as tip should be at your own discretion and EARNED) they did however earn one star as a relaxing place. BTW we are fairly certain the lady at the reception is the owner of this horror institution.
