Stephanie and Tyler are exceptional Massage Therapists with broad knowledge of the muscular and nerve system of the body. I have been going there monthly for well over a year now to help with many problems from injuries that I had sustained as a firefighter for over 30 years. They both know how to specifically treat each area of concern and I leave each session relaxed and renewed. I can go on and on with accolades. I had a massage therapist that I saw for many years before coming upon Seraphim. But she relocated to another state with her military husband. I've been a member of Seraphim Wellness for a couple of years now. This is my favorite place to get massages and reiki done, as well as learn new techniques for relaxation and mindfulness. It's located in a historic office building on Holly Street, a street lined with lovely Victorian homes and pretty trees. There's a small pond that you can see from the parking lot. If it's your first time visiting, I would park towards the back of the building and enter through one of the side doors. Their place is located on the 2nd floor. There's a small waiting area, as well as an office space where you can check out or buy some lovely bracelets or crystals. All of my massages have been wonderful, especially lately from a Bridie. I am super tight, especially in my neck, but she has worked wonders on my sore muscles! The massage room is clean, has soothing music playing, and a beautiful view of the pond and trees, very tranquil. I usually get Reiki done a few times during the year and boy does it balance everything out! I know it may seem odd if you've never done it before, but give it a whirl. You will feel so much better! I cannot begin to explain what a truly amazing experience Seraphim Wellness provided! I took advantage of a new-comers special and booked (2) 90 minute massages for both my husband and I; for our 1st wedding anniversary last month. I was a bit hesitant at first, after reading to text a number to schedule was the best way to get a response. Don't get me wrong, I PREFER not having to talk to people most times, but I am not used to texting for appointments. I didn't expect a quick reply, as I sent my text on a Tuesday when Seraphim is closed. To my surprise, not only did I receive a reply; but it was timely and incredibly polite! I was even wished congratulations on my anniversary in response to requesting my (2) 90 minute session be combined to a couples if possible. unfortunately, the room space is unavailable for couples massage, but they did offer two different dates & time slots when they could accommodate both of us at the same time. We found the building on a super quiet street in Cranford with no trouble, and loved the aesthetic. The houses around the building are GORGEOUS! This is a shared building, and Seraphim is in the BACK -- if you enter through the front door -- walk past the 1st set of steps, and go up the ones in the back, you can follow the signs to Seraphim. OR you can enter through the left side (if you're facing the building) door & take the stairs right up. With little to no wait, we were assisted in filling a form on an iPad, and then taken in for our sessions. I saw Phillip whom I'd requested after all of his glowing reviews here. And hubby saw Natasha. My 90 minutes was TRUE BLISS. I had a baby 5 months ago, and have suffered with sciatic nerve damage for years now. I explained this all the Phillip, who asked a few questions behind it, and then once I was ready; we began. Halfway through I reassured him that he was doing an excellent job! I was complimented on my breathing technique (DEEP BREATHS PEOPLE, IT ENHANCES YOUR EXPERIENCE, AND RELAXES YOU EVEN MORE) I have 0 complaints, the pressure, the products used, the music, the warmth of the room etc. ALL exceeded my expectations greatly! My husbands only gripe was the pressure used on him, wasn't as strong as he'd have preferred. I let him know, that's his own fault -- he doesn't like to speak up. I'm sure that his massage therapist would have increased it if he requested. After our sessions, Phillip let me know I should be stretching frequently and even offered to show my husband some massage technique that would help with my specific troubles. He told me he massaged guided by intention, and I knew from right then that I would be back to Seraphim as often as I could. By far, this was the best massage I ever received. This was my first ever massage- why haven't I been doing this before!? I don't remember the name of my therapist, but she was extremely professional, kind, and intuitive. Using lots of heat therapy, she was able to pinpoint specific areas that needed work, based on my day-to-day, sleeping positions, and tight spots. I had a very bad experience with Beyra who is no longer there (I won't get into it, but she wasn't feeling well and was sneezing a lot, hurting me, not listening when I asked her to lighten the pressure, and I was in pain the next day.) I found this great place because I purchased a groupon for a massage. This place has the perfect combination on nutrition and massage. Their ideologies are totally in sync with one another. Jamie knows her way around some knots. She was very helpful in educating me regarding the issues with back pain. She loves what she does and it shows in her approach. She told me things that pain doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapist never did just by feeling through my back. An even better gift from Jamie was suggesting me to see her partner Stephanie for a nutrition consult. I've been seeking methods to eat my way towards a pain free, spiritual, and well balanced life, and seeing Stephanie was a miracle. She made suggestions that helped me improve aspects of my life I thought I could never get back. I learned more about myself and how to take better care of myself naturally. She gave great guidance regarding exercise, anti- inflammatory foods, and hormonal balancing. My health issues contradict one another. If chicken is good for one thing; it's bad for my other thing. Stephanie educated me on how to balance that loco nonsense. Many are ignorant to that quality. I no longer believe I have to be a vegetarian or vegan to attain better health. I no longer believe I have to deprive myself of things I want but I can put a nice twist on it. Her recipe suggestions are great! I just connect with her period. I do not feel handled. Many places try to suggest a bunch of crap for you to purchase. More crap to put in your body, and more money leaves your wallet. Did I purchase a supplement...yes lol. It wasn't forced; I inquired, and it was the best thing I did for my body. If I had the funds like that , I would go as often as possible and take advantage of their monthly package because I have consistency issues lol. FOR ME somethings are better with guided effort because you don't feel like you're in it alone. Remaining consistent is hard, but I always resort back to something small I learned from the nutritional consults. I have yet to go back to feeling like total garbage, and I would say it's because of this establishment!!! I purchased a groupon for a massage. Their location is above the Qdoba on Elm St. It's an unassuming spot and its only one room. It's a no frills kind of place. I was greeted by the massage therapist Jamie who was so friendly and nice. We had a mini consultation where I told her about my problem areas. She was so warm and attentive. The actual massage was so relaxing. It was exactly what I needed. The hour flew by and I felt such relief. I was a little sore afterward but that's expected for a deep tissue massage. I've been to Seraphim twice so far. My first visit I used a groupon for my mom and myself for deep tissue massages. Roxanne was amazing!! I knew I had a lot of knots after getting a massage at another place. She found muscle clusters in my shoulders I didn't even know were there and was knowledgable enough to perform stretches on me to help reduce areas of tension. She informed me of everything she was doing and ensured the pressure wasn't too much. My shoulders never were so even!! I would stick to Roxanne exclusively but I'm going around the gambit, since I'm new and want to get a feel of who's technique I like the best. Plus, it's good to have a couple of different therapists you like for scheduling purposes. Roxanne definitely will be one of 2 or 3 therapists I schedule with. Seraphim is a small, private, massage therapy/wellness center that makes up for its "smallness" with a large warm feeling and outstanding service! I have been going to them for over 5 years now and have never had a poor experience. I teach 4-8 group exercise classes weekly, and am over 50yrs, (so my body doesn't heal as quickly as it used to!) and the massages at Seraphim are truly therapy for me. They know how to massage each ailing area of my body and restore it to its full range of motion and potential. Granted, I'm sore the next day, but I always need a deep tissue massage. My first visit to Seraphim: The old medical building is misleading. I went there on a Saturday, so there were no other business' open and not much 'signage' to lead you Seraphim. The waiting area (once you figure it out) is a bunch of old waiting room furniture (weird, but strangely comfortable). The masseuse is a lively, energetic, slender woman - I was surprised at her strength and knowledge. Even more surprised when she was able to get a tennis elbow resolved (mostly) with one massage. Sybil was great - she spent time understanding my medical history, current ache areas, and preferences before giving a relaxing massage that really broke up my muscle knots.
