We visited Urbane Cafe for the first time and overall had a nice experience. I ordered the steak bowl, and I liked the fresh ingredients and the concept. I'm giving 4 stars because some pieces of the steak were a little tough, and I personally would love to have more customization options for the bowls. I usually prefer being able to choose my own ingredients. For example, I enjoy white rice, but this bowl came with a different type of rice. I understand it's probably a healthier option and part of their menu style, but having a choice of rice, salad, or toppings would make the experience even better for me. Overall, it's a nice place with fresh food, and I would come back to try other menu items.

Fantastic healthy spot for salads. Great quality for the price and variety of lean protein and fresh ingredients. It is my go to in the area!

Barbecue tri-tip on focaccia with a side salad, this is my favorite sandwich at this place

First, we had excellent and very friendly service from Vanessa and Emma. It makes for a much better meal. Both sandwiches, barbecue tri-tip and chicken pesto, were excellent, and the side salad very nice. We started with the chicken tortilla soup which was just so good. Not photographed, each had a cookie, a triple chocolate, and a white chocolate, really really yummy.

Urbane Cafe offers a Pastrami Tri Tip Sandwich featuring pastrami-style tri tip, swiss cheese, remoulade aioli, housemade apple coleslaw, and bread & butter pickles, served with a side of golden mustard. It's a lighter take on the traditional pastrami sandwich, as it uses tri tip instead of brisket. Love that sandwich and ate it all

If you're looking for a quick and delicious lunch, I'd suggest coming to Urbane! They have delicious handmade focaccia that is their vessel for the delicious sandwich. I really enjoyed the chimichurri steak sandwich, it was very filling and the meat was super juicy and tender. I only was able to eat the half because of the delicious salad that accompanied the sandwich. The fountain drinks are SO good. I absolutely loved the lemonade and the watermelon juice. My partner picked the dragon fruit juice and it was also delicious. Staff is super friendly and very attentive. They greeted me as soon as I step foot on the property and was able to get a cookie fresh out of the oven! Ambiance is very chill and casual, perfect for lunch or an easy dinner. I highly reccomend coming here if you want an affordable bite.

Plenty of free parking in the front! We were greeted with a smile and a welcome as we entered- an important part of service as that drives the initial impression of a restaurant. There was music bumping and once we entered, it felt like the quick bite type of dining. My friend and I ordered the Ahi salad and the UC bahn mi. I'm a big pork bahn mi fan so I was curious to try the chicken version! Though not quite on the same level, it was still pretty tasty! The only thing I would've liked is for the carrots to be more pickled. My friend really liked her tuna salad as well. The cookies were a bit too sweet for me, but tasted great- my favorite out of the 2 was the white chocolate cranberry cookie. Overall, a great experience and would come back to try other sandwiches!

7/30/2025 - Since I did my first review on this location, this is my second time visiting here due to living far away from my home. I enjoyed the freshedly baked cooky that is delicious! My wife also enjoyed the salad. Keep going doing a great work for SFV.

My Baja soup deserves a 5 stars review!!! Aww the corn and the chicken are definitely perfection. I always order this soup if it exists on the menu and this one is one the best I have ever tried let along the focaccia bread is so warm and fresh. The double chocolate cookie was so good. Not overly sweet at all. Love their indoor seatings all have hooks for hand bags too. Zach was greeting us and it was such a welcoming environment. We will be back in a heart beat

Lovely food at a good price point. Got a combo. Everything was fresh and healthy. The staff was extremely helpful with entree suggestions. Clean, professional and well kept place!

A great new addition to the fast food scene in Studio City! It's small, but cute and comfortable, with ample outdoor seating and parking (at least on Thursday at noon). Service, especially from Sarah, was extremely friendly and helpful! The food is fresh, healthy and delicious. Great drink options. too!

came to this place for first time trying Service - nice staff working there, waiting time for food is about 15-20mins. Went there around dinner time. Ambiance - few seats inside the shop and small tables outside. The place is located in the crowded lot with other restaurants around; so, difficult to find parking during lunch or dinner times. Food - I ordered Chimichurri Steak Sandwich-$13.55, it was served with their urbane house side salad. They make their own -focaccia bread- for sandwiches which I thought was pretty cool and tasty too. I wish it could have more sauce in the sandwich as it was a bit dry. Overall, the place is pretty good and enjoyable!

Delicious is definitely in the details! I was so excited to see that Urbane Cafe opened a location super close to me as the closest used to be Burbank. I've always loved their variety: sandwiches, bowls, salads, savory cookies (yes, savory!), and healthier drink options. There's something for everyone, and it's all crafted with intention. A little backstory: Urbane Cafe was founded in 2003 by Tom Holt, who saw a gap in Ventura's restaurant scene. He was after something different, something fresh, flavorful, and high quality. With a vision for great sandwiches and salads, he teamed up with his friend Pete to develop a hearth-baked bread recipe that's still used today. Everything is made with care...from locally sourced ingredients and house-roasted meats to handcrafted sauces that really bring each dish to life. On this visit, I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with Salmon and it was so flavorful. It had mixed whole grain rice, marinated kale, roasted sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled onions, garlic roasted red pepper hummus, tomato cucumber salsa and a lemon wedge. I always add a side of their peanut dressing for an extra kick (highly recommend!). Parking is a breeze with a couple free lots nearby and easy street parking. Prices are also great for the quality and portions. This really hit the sweet spot when it comes to value. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Great Thai iced tea. My kids really loved it, that's usually a good sign. They have had their fair share of pad thai and have become pad thai snobs. In addition to their expertly-crafted pastries, Sweet Lily offers a great variety of French dishes and packaged food items. My group ordered the Sugar Beignet, Raspberry Croissant, and Coffee Croissant - which were all wonderful. The Raspberry Croissant had a not-too-sour fresh jelly filling and was definitely the crowd favorite, but the thick, latte-flavored filling in the Coffee Croissant made it a close second place. The fresh-squeezed orange juice at $5 felt like an absolute bargain, and the Cappuccino was also well-executed. The real stars of the show were the entrees, though. Both the Avocado Toast plate and Croque Monsieur truly tasted like a trip to France. They were hearty and full of flavor, without feeling too heavy. The Sweet Lily twist on Avocado Toast includes melted mozzarella and slices grapes, which really elevated the dish! The potatoes and salads that came as complimentary sides were a welcome surprise, and just as craveable as the entrees themselves. I truly don't think there's a bad thing to order here, and I look forward to returning to this bright and welcoming spot to try more!

Been wanting to try this place for a while and my son said he did as well, so we made a lunch date…read moreout of it today. It's kind of off the beaten path, where Ventura becomes Cahuenga. Near Barham and on the way to Hollywood. They have a few metered parking spots out front, but I went in and asked if they had their own parking and Mehdi told me they had a couple of spots in the alley behind the building, so that's where we parked. It's a cute place, not too fancy. They refer to it as a Boutique Pastry Shop. There are some snacks/knick knacks available for purchase, along with a refrigerator of drinks towards the back. The left side of the space is the coffee bar and the right side has the pastry cases and food menus. This is where we placed our order with Mehdi, who was pleasant, nice and knowledgeable about the menu and all the pastry items. I was talking to another employee, Gabriel, and asking him questions about the omelettes. He talked me through a few different options and he was also pleasant and kind. I decided on the Veggie Omelette (add mozzarella +$2, and side baguette +$1) with a Decaf Latte (+$0.75 for Oat Milk). My son ordered the Chicken Caprese Panini, which came with Pesto and Mozzarella Cheese. ($17). We also wanted to sample some pastries and we got 1 Nutella Beignet ($5.50), 1 Caribbean & 1 Red Carpet ($8 each), 1 Pear/Almond Tart and 1 Raspberry Tart ($6.50 each). Our total for everything including tip was $91.59, and I'm still kind of in shock over it! This place was SO EXPENSIVE!! Mehdi plated our pastries for us and Gabriel immediately got to work on the omelette and panini. We sat down at one of their many tables and got situated while we waited for the food. It was pretty empty as we were there around 3pm, an hour before they closed. There were two other tables being occupied while we were there. They had nice pop music playing, ranging from 90s-00s songs and artists. There were some nice twinkly lights above us along with the regular lighting of the restaurant. The space was also very clean, but I noticed some wear and tear on the tables/chairs. Once Mehdi brought our food out, we got to eating. My omelette also came with a small side salad with balsamic vinaigrette and some potatoes. I think everything tasted good, especially the omelette, but the potatoes were a bit too greasy for my taste. I also think the portion size was too small for the price. This statement goes for everything we ordered. It was all extremely overpriced for the portions they're offering. My son said his panini was just mediocre and bland. He opened it and added a bunch of salt to it. It was also very skimpy on the chicken, about 4-5 tiny slices inside. Moving onto the pastries, the Pear/Almond was my favorite. It wasn't overly sweet (actually, none of the pastries were), which is what I prefer. It was very delicate and tasty. I also had a bite of the Caribbean which was delicious. They went well with my latte, which tasted very good. I will be trying the rest later. My son had a bite of everything and liked the Caribbean and the Nutella Beignet, saying the rest were just average. I didn't use the restroom but my son did and said it was spotless clean, stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and room spray. The trash was empty, floors and counters were clean. They have one men's and one women's restroom and it's spacious. They began closing down the place about 5 minutes after we finished our bites and nibbling. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience by any means, but I don't think I'll be rushing here anytime soon to try it again. It was just outrageously expensive for what it was. I understand the cost of ingredients, labor, etc it takes to produce pastries and viennoiserie, but I just don't think the quality matched the prices. Just my opinion. I would say the service was great, both Gabriel and Mehdi are great employees! I may or may not come back. We'll see.

The butter, jam, and tomato were another story. Those charges weren't disclosed when we ordered and felt like an unpleasant surprise at the end of a mediocre meal. Unfortunately, the food didn't justify the nickel-and-diming. The "crispy" breakfast potatoes arrived whole, not cut into pieces, and were firmer than crispy. The chai had an odd aftertaste. The burger was overly salty, and the biscuit tasted like it had been sitting around since the day before. It certainly wasn't warm or fresh from the oven. The cleanliness was also disappointing. The seat cushion where my mom was supposed to sit was visibly dirty. When we pointed it out, our server explained that guests sometimes bring dogs or put their feet on the cushions and that they try to clean them weekly. Weekly isn't enough. We were the first customers of the morning and the only people there when we arrived, so it would have been easy to seat us somewhere clean. To be fair, the courtyard is beautiful, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Those positives, however, couldn't overcome lousy food, surprise charges, and cleanliness issues. We won't be back.
