Everything in there is obviously bought from other thrift stores, but they cropped all of the shirts and hoodies: ruining the clothing.

Still pricey but the sales are to die for! Wonderful place for funky gifts and special occasion/formal wear. Also the boots are fabulous.

DTLR is a national chain of stores focused on urban streetwear with an especial emphasis sneakers…read morewith Nike and Jordan brand the main focus there. Although they do carry plenty of other brands, their selection of Jordans and other Nike lifestyle sneakers as well as the same category of goods by adidas, Puma, Diadora, and Converse are big draws for any DTLR store and let's be real, they're also the main money-makers with Jordans retailing for around $190 on many models. So DTLR has long been absent from Gainesville which I found odd considering their multiple stores in the Jacksonville and Orlando markets but that has just been remedied by the opening of this location. They went into the old Gainesville Shopping Center on Main Street, a decision that made me very pleased because this shopping center, which was one of the earliest in town and once very successful, has gone down in the past couple decades. It still has businesses, yes, but all really are what I call local service businesses--fast food restaurants, a Publix, and things like nail or hair salons. These are not really destination businesses, they cater to people in the neighborhood but won't probably draw in visitors from elsewhere. DTLR however will. It has competition in mall stores like Jimmy Jazz and House of Hoops, but it's unique. It probably would get more traffic in the mall or the new Butler Plaza but it accomplishes the very necessary goal of bringing more businesses to East Gainesville. I really commend whomever scouted out and chose this location for their foresight because not many chains would bother. The store itself is fairly large but their inventory is not on par with some of the higher-volume DTLRs. A chain-wide issue I've noted at DTLR is that they, at least in the scope of streetwear, are trying to be all things to all people at all price-points. So, you have some no-name brands of jeans and the like or store brands, and then you have the newest Jordans or Nike Air drops too--and that goes for clothing as well as sneakers. There isn't enough room for everything and instead of crowding it all in there (thankfully) they limit how much diversity of product they carry in any one area. So, in example, they have Diamond Supply but not much of it. Same with many brands. I hope they'll soon learn what sells at this specific store and streamline the inventory, but for now that's the main drawback: customers familiar with DTLR will find a more limited selection than at some stores. Still the presence of a DTLR in town and the fact they went into an under-served part of Gainesville is very exciting to me.
