Last month I visited this thrift store with my elderly mother. When we entered, we noticed a "service dogs only" sign. My mother has a legally recognized service dog in Massachusetts, so we didn't anticipate any issues. We spent about 15 minutes browsing and had items we intended to purchase. When my mother's back started hurting, I grabbed her small dog to help. At that point, two employees approached us in an aggressive and confrontational manner, demanding to know why she had the dog and insisting it needed to leave. The way this was handled was extremely upsetting and, frankly, humiliating, especially toward an elderly customer with anxiety in the first place. Rather than addressing the situation respectfully, we felt singled out and surrounded while simply trying to shop. I ended up taking the dog out to the car, and we left shortly after. Unfortunately, this experience completely overshadowed what should have been a simple visit. Between the high prices and the way customers are treated, I would strongly recommend choosing one of the many other thrift stores in the area. I have been a customer at Outreach for several years. Love the store and the items. The manager, (old gray haired man) should be removed. He is incredibly rude! My husband and I tried to donate items and he informed us that we had garage sale items! We had very nice things! We called in advance and arrived an hour before closing. He clearly didn't want to be bothered. This is a store that relies on donations!! We went to Goodwill instead. They were happy to accept our donation. read more

Happened to be in Gainesville and Yelp advised this was the closest 5 star rated thrift store near me, so I decided to check it out. The public ladies room was very clean, which was a pleasant surprise. Store doesn't carry any furniture. It primarily carries clothing (lots of clothing), some linens, very few toys, very few small appliances. I don't get the 5 star rating from others because the selection wasn't very exciting and the prices were much steeper than I am used to paying in thrift shops. The staff was nice. Maybe these are typical prices for thrift stores in Gainesville but they still seemed over priced to me. read more

This is one of my favorite shops to find kids clothing for very good prices. I always stock up on school clothing from here. Most is kept in very good condition. They have a pretty large selection of shoes as well. The housewares section is small and they have a decent area for purses/handbags. There is plenty of women's clothing and they even offer a decent sized men's clothing area. I love that this place has $1 racks too. read more

This is a solid thrift store in town that is really wonderful for clothing. My wife and sister love it, they have a huge selection of dresses especially. I have gotten some nice pieces of clothing at shockingly good prices. The clothes I've found range from casual and workout gear to office appropriate, fashionable tops, skirts & pants. It is rare to find a garment costing over $5. I get a lot of things in the $1.95 to $3.95 range (That's including brand name items). I've even made some good finds within the quarter rack. This place has been a godsend after recent weightloss and several sizes dropped. The Outreach Thrift Store has been a vital asset in rebuilding my wardrobe. I love this store and it became one of my favorite thrift stores in Gainesville. I normally shop there when I drop off my donations. 9/10 times I came out with a few things that I really liked. The price could be a bit pricey for some items. But for most of the clothes they're reasonable (from $1.50 - $2.95). It's not like you will find items to your liking all the time. That depends on their turnover selections at the time you visit. But overall it's a fun shopping experience on a cheap!! read more

Store was clean but had a little stale smell when first walked in. Found some good condition clothes for my kid & myself. I'd have no issue returning but have an issue w/ a staff mbr. An older man, made comments about where we moved from then made underlining comments about the tattoos on my mother & myself. Also had a staff mbr, a female, kept adding to items to where ever we were looking at. They lost a star due to staff mbrs. We don't steal. read more
