This place is a mixed bag, but still worth a visit. It has a very "old Florida" thrift store feel--think lots of older shoppers, dusty, and a bit of chaos. That said, it's amazing for affordable household items like plates and kitchenware, and sometimes you'll stumble on furniture finds (though prices vary wildly--some are great, some feel overpriced for a resale shop). The clothing section is more in line with Goodwill pricing, but not a standout. Staff are friendly but weekends are clearly understaffed, so be patient. read more

My mom and I went into Haven recently just to check things out, see what they had. I was surprised to find that the store is really well kept, not cluttered like some other resale stores I can think of, and their merchandise was of good quality. I sat on a couple of pieces of furniture while I was there, and they all seemed to be of decent quality as well. The book section was more full than I usually would see at stores like this, and their section of craft supplies was impressive as well. We found some dishes of a certain pattern that we are always keeping an eye out for, and the price was definitely right for them, so we grabbed those along with a couple of other items. I usually have a pretty good experience whenever I stop by to shop for yarn, crafts, furniture at Haven--but today's experience was the worst interaction I've EVER had at any thrift store in my lifetime. The cashier named Lorrie watched as her supervisor gave us a discount on the yarn yesterday, and so today we went to her to simply ask if we could get the same deal on the same yarn today--to which she immediately said no but took it even further by yelling at us that we are "taking advantage of her kindness" and "this is NOT how we do things at our store and other customers buy the yarn AT THIS PRICE." She mentioned there's a manager but there is no way that they would approve of the discount, but we said "it doesn't hurt to ask, could we ask her?" Which immediately ignited her extreme frustration which she directed towards us by yelling at how we are going to make her upset and angry for even asking the manager ...so we just dropped the issue and walked away. Even the other cashier next to us looked stunned. Tldr; watch out for Lorrie because she will attack and embarrass you for asking for a simple discount-- felt like I was treated like a child and being scolded for asking a harmless question. I've never been treated so horribly at a thrift store (usually a very unproblematic experience), and this could've all been avoided if she simply said "sorry, no discount today" but instead she decided to publicly humiliate us and imply we are taking advantage of her kindness. My family and I were loyal customers but I don't think we could go back there after how we were mistreated. Honestly, my mother and I first thought it was because we were the only Asian customers there and that it might've been a racist act... but later found out that our white friends were mistreated by her recently too! So it could literally happen to anyone, so be careful if you get her on register. ALSO thought I'd mention they price their items according to the highest ebay listing for the item which means the prices are much higher than regular thrift stores. read more

Overpriced. The point of thrifting is to find a steal. You can't find steals anymore. Basically paying retail for everything now.

I'm a man with multiple disabilities which include some kidney function issues. Walking and holding urine is a challenge. I had traveled from my home 1.25 hours away. I needed some furniture. I came to the store with high hopes. Upon entering the store, I asked to use the restroom as I had driven far; I was told they were out of order. Anywhere employees / volunteers work, at least one restroom must work. I believe from the actions of the staff that the restroom was actually working. They laughed at the answer I was given. I know many deny facilities use to limit the need to clean them. I hope I'm wrong, nevertheless both lying about facilities use, and laughing ar disabled people are not ok in my world. I like this thrift store b cause it's relatively clean but it's overpriced for used items, with a few exceptions. For example the books are a good price at .25cents, and some housewares but mostly they want too much for their goods. On the other hand they are a charity so there's that justification. I've also noticed that these volunteers are regulars & know their business inside & out, so don't try to pull anything over on them, I don't think it would work. read more

This place used to be decent...but they turned greedy. They get their merchandise for free, but insist on charging absurd prices. Thrifting just isn't fun like it used to be. They eBay price check everything. If I wanted to buy from eBay I would. At least they have a good return policy. Anyways. Lower your prices. You literally get this stuff free. read more

I have never been too interested in thrifting, even if Mackelmore convinced the general population that it was cool. We are in the process of purchasing our first home and currently renting a TINY apartment (month by month) and couldnt fit all our furniture, namely the beautiful suade sectional I bought 2 months prior to moving (safe in storage) Hubby said to look at their selection and we found some really funky furniture that we even intend on keeping after the move! We also found some beautiful glassware that is very high quality and look like heirlooms. We went there and for about 150 bought a love seat, vintage chair, glass vase, vintage pitcher and 5 cup set and a mug with a terrible looking pomeranian on it. This thrift store had great prices! You did have to put a bit of effort into finding cool items but it was worth it. I got a bunch of vintage nat geo mags which I'm always looking for for only 25 cents each. They also had a great clothing sale. Not a big fan of the store although prices are rock bottom & there are constant sales. (Keep an eye on the large sign out front to learn of sales.) Not much furniture on the sales floor & what's there is often not in the greatest shape. Have yet to find a decent antique over the last few years, but I've browsed thru lots of junk. (Twice yearly there's a Saturday antique sale, which may explain why they're scarce 362 days per year.) The place feels & smells dusty. My only good finds here have been vinyl-- records & albums at very cheap prices. There is a drive thru feature so donating is easy; I've utilized it quite regularly since 2007 after Hospice nurses cared for my father 24/7 for eight consecutive days. The $$$ generated from donations & resales goes directly to Hospice services, thus assisting dying local folk. The Hospice cause is wonderful. The downside of the drive thru is that it's closed by the time most people leave work M-F, closed all day Sunday, & open till just 2 pm on Saturdays which is when many have time to donate. (Beware: quite often when you drive over after 12:00 to drop off items, you'll find they closed the gate hours early & hung a sign on it which reads "Full." This happened to me three consecutive Saturdays.) But, the workers are kind-hearted volunteers (although usually not very friendly), & it's difficult to fault them for their irregular hours...or lack of smiles. Considering how Goodwill operates w/ it's paid staff & huge administrative costs, Hospice is a saint. UPDATE: One Saturday in April is the annual antique sale. (There's also one each Fall, I believe.) Doors open at 9:00. (I arrived at 8:10 to be 4th in line.) Items are specially placed in one area of the store, although you are welcome to shop the entire store. No children, strollers or shopping carts are allowed during this antique sale. There are great deals on kitchen & dining ware, pottery, jewelry, silver, gold coins, vintage fishing lures, other misc small items, & especially on antique furniture. While in line outside, you are given an index card on which to scribe your name, & inside you'll have a cardboard box to store any items you decide to buy (along w/ furniture tags you've pulled from pieces). When done shopping, you'll take your box to the counter where a friendly volunteer will begin the checkout process. (Credit cards are welcome.) There are some amazing deals at this vintage festivity, but they go fast! Sadly, this antique sale (April 2017) had 3 flaws. (1) The dishware/pottery aisles were dangerously close together & made it difficult to shop, (2) the initial entry box tagging system was poorly organized & executed (later arrivals bypassed it & were able to scoop up deals faster than those who arrived long before they), & (3) the elderly female volunteer @ the boxing table was not only overwhelmed, she was the rudest staffer I've ever encountered at ANY store. She was incredibly rude on several occasions simply because she had no clue what to do or how to implement the process. The moment staff saw/heard her, she should have been removed from her position. However, the annual antique sale is great if you plan to wait in line early on a Saturday, don't mind a mad rush coupled w/ confusion, & aren't physically disabled. I went to help my boss secure a particular Roseville item he had eyed taped off earlier in the week, but I did manage to grab (literally) some excellent deals for myself. (See pic.) But unless you are a serious antique collector, I wouldn't venture out for this sale. It's rather small (although 100% of proceeds do go to Hospice, so the cause is definitely worthy). read more

I haven't had success in finding anything super worthwhile in the store, but if you're looking to furnish your place somewhat cheaply it's prolly a good place. And they have everything. I'm not sure if it's hit or miss or if they save their best stuff for elsewhere (I've seen some amazing pieces in the back storage places!). The volunteers where you drop off donations can be really rude, though. I always feel if I am inconvenience. read more

I've had a lot of success finding crutches, walking boots and other orthopedic devices here. Not nearly as much luck finding clothes.
