We have tried different places like this and have had way better service! This place was not the best place for portion size as I've been to other places and have left full. The Chef was rude as he had yelled at me for spilling a bell pepper! We will not be back! I do not recommend this place Other places have options for sides/ appetizers soup or rice. This place just gave us rice The only positive thing was they gave us free spring rolls they weren't the best Luke warm.

Then he put half of my cooked order into the container with the rice (container was NOT full), and the other half in second container and said I have to pay $10 extra for 2nd container. I said no thanks and he started yelling at me. I just stared in disbelief. The restaurant was empty - no other customers. I'm surprised Fraser Health hasn't shut this place down for violating food safety rules. $20 for half a bowl of mediocre stir fry is not worth it. I usually like to support local mom and pop businesses but this guy clearly doesn't want returning customers.

From the moment we walked…read morein, the staff were incredibly kind and patient, walking us through the entire build-your-bowl process since it was our first visit. We truly appreciated how welcoming and helpful they were. We were impressed by the wide variety of fresh and healthy ingredient options. There are so many fresh toppings and sauces to choose from, and it was so easy to fully customize our bowl from base to protein to toppings. It is not a preset menu spot, which makes it even more fun. We also loved how vegetarian- and vegan-friendly the options are. The portion size was surprisingly generous (more than enough for us)! For the quality and price, it was honestly very impressive. Our bowls were served hot straight from the grill, and we felt like we were watching a cooking show as the staff prepared everything right in front of us. We could literally feel the heat from where we were standing. Huge thumbs up to the hardworking team managing both prep and grilling. Everything tasted fresh and flavourful without being overly greasy. We even had leftovers for lunch the next day, and it still tasted amazing. We also loved their healthy drink options and frozen yogurt. Learning that their entire menu is seed-oil free and refined-sugar free made us appreciate the concept even more. The space is clean, bright, and has a super welcoming atmosphere. It is a great option when you want something warm, hearty, and customizable instead of cold salads or typical fast food. Great value for money and protein options for everyone. We truly think Goodbowl needs more locations in Vancouver. Highly recommend. 100% would come back again. Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 spent per person (dinner) Presentation: 2/5 Parking: 1/5 Be patient! It is located in a busy plaza with lots of restaurants and shops. Tips: * Go on a weekday if you can. It is a bit easier for first-timers to learn the process. * Ask questions. The staff are more than happy to explain the build-your-bowl steps. * Do not underestimate the portion size. * Pair your bowl with their drinks or frozen yogurt if you are extra hungry. The menu depicted various grilled meats and lots of veggies, with rice or noodles, for a reasonable price. (Most everything else at the other places were fried. And I wasn't in the mood for Panda Express). I ordered a teriyaki chicken with minimal rice. This dish cost $5.99 (the cheapest meal offered) and I usually eat 1/3-1/2 of any given meal, anyway. The lady who took my order was friendly but quite the character, with her "wig" of red yarn braided in two large side braids, and the "cook" was a nice guy who was personable enough. My dish was presented in a styrofoam box (even though I said I was going to eat it in the food court there). As for the food itself, I inspected the chicken pieces and they were cooked through and through. There were some veggies (carrots and cabbage, mostly). And, as I requested, I got only a bit of rice. Unfortunately, everything was doused in a teriyaki sauce that I wasn't too keen on (mostly because there was so much of it. But also it just wasn't my cup of tea). I ate 1/3 and threw the rest out. And I felt super queasy and had major GI issues for the next few hours (I'll spare the details but, suffice it to say, it was NOT a fun drive back to Vancouver for me). Other than a Starbucks coffee, this was the only thing I had all day, so the chances are pretty high that this food didn't sit well with me. Not sure if it was me or the food, but I'm not going to take a chance and eat here again.

Positives. Self serve station where everything is cold and very well maintained (no greasy tongs). Also variety of veggies is one of the reasons I keep returning. Their hot station varies, but I l love the sesame balls, occasional chicken wings, the chef does their version of a hot sauce rice roll which was allot better than many Korean places I've tried- I know- odd, but they do smash those heavy carb hot foods out of the parks at this location. Hesitant. I kinda not know what my final bill is, they ran a promo this summer and the base soup was included. Sometimes in the evening I get charged for base soup. I recently got charged for base soup, as I don't get offered the menu anymore as I just shout out "house soup" when I sit down. Also, the random few times I buy a few packaged of hot pot mixes, somehow I have tipped on top of that too. Like I need to be better at not doing that, or ask the staff to put that on the next transaction. Service. Mainly great. I love how sometimes the back chefs come out and see me and tell me they just put out hot food. Food is definitely a universal love language and I comprehend. ATM 3.5/5
