Chinese "BBQ" place in the Crystal Mall parking lot. Parking is available underneath the mall. Maybe I'm walking in with the wrong mindset, but the food here isn't exactly "BBQ". This seems to be closer to soup and noodles, though several dishes definitely don't fit the category. Staff were friendly and helpful. No complaints. There is a ghetto tray of condiments. In this tray there is a giant unhygenic-looking bowl of house chili sauce. I could feel the tears of joy welling up. Be sure to take some. I tried the oyster tin foil mushrooms and rice. This dish is definitely on the pricey side, but it delivers. Huge portion. The soup had quite a bit of kick, even before adding any chili sauce. The oysters are baby sized, but I didn't feel they cheaped out. There were generous portions of enoki mushrooms and other bits such as green onions. This dish is seriously like crack. Just thinking about this dish is making me drool. I probably should try some of the other dishes next time, but this one has my heart and my stomach. Recommended.

There was a bug in my food and this chef kept screaming saying that I was wrong and that he won't make me a new dish. Very disappointing.

Service was bad. Especially the chef. When I found a fly in my noodle soup. This chef won't make me a new dish and he kept on screaming and telling me something in mandarin. While I walked away he kept on talking something behind my back. The customer heard him and he yell at the chef that he will never be his customer again because the way he treated me and he also have witness the entire scene. So I will highly recommend never go there again. And he works at in the Crystal Mall food court called 99bbq

    * New BBQ stall in Crystal Mall Food Court * This food court continues to improve with new offerings. My latest find is this new BBQ food stall, which specializes in various skewers grilled as you order them right before your eyes. The smell coming off that grill was enticing! Ordering without speaking Mandarin can be a challenge as the grillmaster (http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/reHbi_PkLHp9ogj98nJ3_g?select=6ukP5Hzkxlt4n_L8bagLPg) did not speak a single word of English. He was friendly, but eventually gave up on me and called a very friendly woman from the back who spoke a bit of English to take my order. There was also no English sign giving the name of this stall. So here you go to help you locate it: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/reHbi_PkLHp9ogj98nJ3_g?select=0G8E6xXw4bZ2ln9IBwwi4w They have a wide variety of items to grill up, including several types of meat, lots of different veggies, and lots of different organs. In addition they have some soups on offer which they prepare in the back. I tried out my staple of lamb skewers. They were reasonably priced at $1.25 per skewer, and were very tender. They had just the right fat to meat ratio, and were generously sprinkled with cumin and chili powder. A delicious snack! As an aside, I skipped the "colon soup" as I'm not a huge fan of eating colons. But that's just me.....If colons are your thing, this is the only spot I have seen offering colon soup in the Vancouver area....

The potato noodles here are so good you can choose the spiciness level as well as the numbness level. If you prefer flavor over that numbing feeling you get from Sichuan peppercorns, make sure to ask for 0 numbness when you order

This place is amazing. I always come here for BBQ skewers when I am visiting Crystal Mall. The beef and chicken are my favourites. The minimum order is two of the same type of skewer but that's never a problem for me. The seasoning of cumin in the meats makes these extra special. Worth a try when you are at Crystal Mall!!

Potato noodle! This is the only place in Vancouver you can have it. Hope the broth can be more tasty. I eat spicy food frequently. But their less spicy and tingy broth is still too strong for me

Plenty of beef slices and enoki mushroom. I really have to recommend this dish. Also had a pile of their skewers. Taiwanese sausage, chicken gizzard, and 2 flavours of wings. Not the cheapest, but similar in pricing to the competition. Everything got gobbled up. Delicious. Honestly I wish more people knew about this place. I think the only thing stopping them is the rather "bad" (not too visible) location. The 5 star rating for dinner remains.

The second time there were clams and lamb neck? The things that were the same: tomato egg, dumplings, steamed baos, chineze fried donut, and cold dishes like bean sprouts, smashed cucumbers, tea egg, tofu dessert. They also have hot soy milk for drinks. Their deep fried chinese donut has got to be the best I've ever had in my life. With the price of a pair of fried donut being over $6 these days, I get my fix here. Other things are standard, good but not outstanding. I really like having soy milk to drink instead of water. $18.88 is getting a little steep for a limited choice buffet with not too many meat choices. The crab/clam are a nice addition but if there are days without it, it wouldn't be worth. I would rate the food from this place higher than the similar chinese lunch box style place in richmond, K squared mansion.

No frills and worth the hype!…read more Our family of six arrived at 12 pm on a Tuesday. We waited approximately 25 minutes which is not bad at all considering how popular this small restaurant is. My mom is vegetarian and my girls had a wonton noodle soup lunch at another spot down the street. So we ordered a few things mainly for my dad, husband and myself: 1) Platter with barbecue pork and chicken (雙拼叉燒香油雞) 2) Half-order of roast duck (半隻脆皮燒鴨) 3) late of roast pork (燒肉) 4) Bowl of rice (一碗米飯) We cleared everything. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girls are usually indifferent to Cantonese barbecued meats but they tried it and enjoyed everything as well. This is definitely a place to repeat if and when we revisit Vancouver.

They ran out of duck but do not fret because the soya chicken is where it's at. The soya chicken is incredibly tender, even the breast meat is tender. Secondly, it's perfectly marinated and if you dab a little of their homemade soy sauce, it's even better. Eat this with rice and you'll never want another meal in your life. This was easily our favorite dish for the place. Bbq pork and crispy pork are both spot on as well. They give generous and juicy cuts and the crispy pork is, well, crispy. The skin is a nice crunch and the meat is juicy, what more could you ask for? I still salivate and dream of the meat here and I wish we had something like this back in LA cause I don't know who else would make soy chicken as good as here. Cash only so come prepared! If you're a US tourist, they take USD as well but canadian is still the better deal.

Every item we ordered was well prepared and true to the HK flavors you'd expect -- nothing overly salty or greasy, just balanced and satisfying. We tried half a BBQ duck and the three-meat combo with rice, and both were excellent. The staff were friendly and courteous, and I especially appreciated how generous they were with sauces -- a small detail that goes a long way. If there's one area for improvement, it would be the food temperature. Nothing came out piping hot, which left me wondering if the dishes had been sitting out for a bit -- or perhaps the restaurant just doesn't see as much volume during off-peak hours. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but hotter plates would elevate the experience. Pricing was very reasonable, especially with their ongoing specials, making it an easy choice for a casual meal that delivers on flavor and value. Despite the quiet setting, Yummy BBQ deserves more attention -- it's a solid spot for classic HK BBQ done right.

I didn't pick the cheapest choice on the menu and instead I ordered the roast duck leg as my dinner. The place is not very large, I guess they target to serve more take out orders. The staff members are welcoming. The vibe is very similar to those in HK. The roasted duck leg is very delicious and juicy. Though it's already close to the end of the business hours but it was still tasty with the plum sauce. Portion is large. Definitely I will try their BbQ pork and chicken in my next visit! I'm really satisfied!
