This was by far the worst eye care experience I've ever had. I chose this office because it was close to my downtown office and I wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. The doctor was arrogant and dismissive, and the front office staff was pushy. I was very clear about the contact lenses I wanted, yet I was pressured into trial contacts that were completely uncomfortable and did not work for me. When I followed up to request the prescription for the contacts I originally asked for, I was told I would need to schedule and pay for an entirely new eye exam -- despite the fact that this issue was created by their insistence on pushing a different product. The entire experience felt sales-driven rather than patient-focused. I never felt listened to, respected, or cared for -- just upsold. If you're looking for an eye doctor who prioritizes patients over profit, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere!! read more

Not a great experience. I had gone in for an eye exam with the intent to purchase a pair of glasses from their store. After purchasing a pair, I realized that I'd need another pair sooner than they could have mine ready. Not a problem at all. However when I asked for the pupillary distance numbers that had just been taken down when I bought my glasses, the staff informed me I would need to pay to have the pupillary distance test taken again. I needed those numbers to purchase another pair online that could be delivered overnight as I needed them for work. Despite having just taken the eye exam and purchasing glasses with Urban Eyecare, the staff insisted that I pay another out of pocket expense for a test that they had just done. read more

I do not recommend this doctor or practice. They failed to correct my vision for contacts and are refusing to see me again without having to pay them for another office visit. I tried to reason with them but they were steadfast in refusing to come to a reasonable resolution or compromise. They told me they do not care if I come back to their clinic and that it was fine with them if I went elsewhere. They get one star for poor care, poor service and for an unwillingness to compromise even the slightest to ensure the patient has a positive outcome. The staff just did not care about my experience or my outcome at all, and clearly preferred that I go somewhere else rather than helping. Dr. Jason Klepfisz is REALLY BAD at his job. He's short tempered, narcissistic, and hostile. Questions/concerns were met with aggression. He threatened to not give me my glasses anymore if I wasn't satisfied, rather than asking what he could do to help me be more comfortable. He is dismissive. He did not understand my concerns or desire to know what they were. His arrogance is embarrassing. His staff was mortified but let me know this is a common occurrence with him unfortunately. I also had a colleague confirm a similar experience as well. I saw him yelling at a girl that was crying on one of my visits and left. I won't be bringing this place my business. Worst bedside manner I've ever seen. This place will charge your insurance in a shady way to make the customer pay even more. Watch out for this mess of a location but bear in mind this "doctor" works at both Urban Eye cares. If you want to see an example, look at how combative he is when responding to negative reviews. He is unwell and argues with everyone. He lacks basic social skills and struggles with human interactions. He is unfit for customer facing employment. read more

To be honest I didn't know what to expect for my initial visit and eye exam. To my surprise, even with me being a little difficult the staff kept equanimity and were very professional. Can't believe that I am leaving a review on yelp: We went to get our eye exam, we have been there before and used contacts, we are used to get a doctor for eye checkups and not a generic store service plus we get to support a local business rather than a chain. It all went fine, their customer service is good and modern, tried a couple of frames I saw online but they didn't fit me. It happens... saw their sunglasses we already had 2 in mind. But after the exam, the business owner comes out and asked my husband out of the blue why we were going to buy lenses from Warby Parker! (we never mentioned such thing) My husband knowing where he was going with this question gave him the most generic answers possible one of them in sort of that getting them by mail was easy and he replied back with an extremely confrontational voice "Oh so we are not easy?" at that moment I even felt bad for the employee behind the counter... then he proceeds to tell us that WP does eye exams now and that we should CONSIDER that.... the fact that a business owner much less a healthcare provider will: 1- ask for feedback in such a rude and emotional way, and 2- Suggest we go somewhere else! Seems extremely unprofessional. Reading the other reviews seems a to be a pattern with this person, I have absolutely no doubt he spoke poorly about us after we left the store like other person stated hearing him doing this. Having said all this, and reading other reviews: PLEASE CONSIDER OTHER PLACES before going here, if you don't plan to buy anything or if you are not sure at this point and only need an eye exam I would recommend other optometrist that cares about your eyes and your health. To the owner: 1-Sometimes not all your products are going to be for everybody and that is fine. 2- Be more grateful and appreciate the fact that people want to step inside your little business to just look, say hi, ask you a question and EVEN MORE if they get a service you provide. 3- If sales are your main concern, I suggest a change on your career path but from what I've seen, you should focus on the medical part and leave that to your sales reps. read more

Very confusing Went here once for a new glasses prescription around a year ago. Had no issues, no negative remarks of any means by the doctor and all was well Just Made a new appointment a year later and "was dropped" for not caring or listening to the doctors advice around contacts during last visit. And stated I over-wear my contacts. We didn't discuss contacts during my 1 and only visit... Dr. K. and the team make the experience of an eye exam and selecting frames easy, fast, fun, and every staff member is friendly, accommodating and helpful. There was no waiting for the exam; I was seen at my scheduled exam time. Dr. K. is efficient and thorough. The exam room is spotless and the team takes extra precautions to assure that patients are in a clean environment. Selecting frames with the staff is a blast! If you wanted to try on 100 frames, they take the time help make selections and, regardless of how many you want to try, they are patient and offer their honest thoughts. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Great place!! The doctor was so helpful and informed me on everything he saw with my eyes. He took time to explain everything in layman's terms so I understood what he was recommending and why. Then he took time to help me find their perfect frames! He listened to what I wanted and then led me to the perfect pair! He even told me which ones did not look good which I greatly appreciate. The frames are more expensive than I usually would spend but it is worth it knowing they come from great companies with strong ethics. Paying more for companies who are doing things right is how we create a better world! Also the front desk lady was so nice and even gave some recommendations on frames! I have never had an eye exam so my anxiety manufactured a million reasons not to go (as well as a million irrational reasons for the small issues I've been experiencing with my vision!) but Dr. K and the lovely ladies at the desk made this experience wonderful. I feel educated on my ocular health and I'm almost disappointed that I don't require glasses just yet..because they ONLY have AMAZING frames in this joint. Check them out. You will be stoked on every detail. OH...and a tip...do the photo of the back of your eye instead of the dilation drops! I'm the idiot who didn't and being blind for a few hours is no fun! read more

The best eye doctor I've ever had. Having my eyes checked is seriously so uncomfortable for me but not here. They had a dope machine that did everything getting your eyes dilated does but without eye drops and shades. I was in and out in under 30 min. The staff is so kind and helpful! Dr. Klepfisz is great.l! I work nearby and love the convenience of the location and the quick but thorough exam. The eyewear selection is great and the staff is friendly. They are obviously putting an emphasis on using technology to make the whole process of getting an exam, contacts and or eyeglasses as easy as possible. Text/email updates as well almost all of my patient information was all done through email prior to my actual appointment which was very convenient. That being said. I was a first time patient coming from out of state, I don't even know where to begin on how awesome the staff and the store itself is. They helped me from explaining what corner of the building they were at, a contacts fitting(for the first time), glasses styles (even so kind enough to pick a few out based off of some I tried on(which they clean and sanitize each pair that is tried on), they were super friendly as soon as I walked in until the time I stepped out the door. The store was clean, welcoming and stocked. They were also so quick and efficient, I came in about 40 minutes early even to look at glasses and fill out paperwork, and was out 7 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start (at 1:30)! By far the best eye doctor I have ever had! Worn glasses since I was 15, with a small prescription and was always told to wear my glasses when I "needed them". This last year my vision has gotten progressively worse, not being able to drive at night or determine how far anything was. The doctor at Urban Eyecare was able to inform me that I had a bit of astigmatism, and never tension in the eyes. While also explaining why other doctors were never able to help. Other doctors didn't take the time and patience to understand the issues at a deeper level. He answered ever since question, and put all the pieces of the puzzle together from all the eye doctors I've had in the past. I will forever go to Urban Eyecare! Highly recommended. read more

I went in this place tonight for a simple glasses adjustment and it's quite amazing the arrogance of the optometrist here to just have zero self awareness or customer service skills in wanting to help a customer who didn't purchase their glasses from them ??!! He refused to assist. One would think after a pandemic businesses reopening would lose their arrogance and want to improve customer service??!! Not here!! Avoid at all costs I would have paid $30 for a simple adjustment and only went here based on proximity because of their arrogance before the pandemic !!! Stay away at all costs!!! Why even have a business if u don't care about customers?? An adjustment? Really!!?? Would have paid for two minutes of service and likely will be buying multiple pair of eyeglasses for my family over the next few months. Never again!
