We bought a wood exterior door from them. It lasted less than a year before there was a huge crack through the middle of the door. They did replace the door, however they said it was our fault for "exposing the door to the elements," and voided our warranty. It's an exterior door so, yeah it's gonna be exposed. The door also has overhang from the sun and doesn't face Southwest (part of their warranty requirement) so our warranty should have been honored. read more

We placed an order for an exterior door and were quoted 6 weeks to completion. We put down a deposit of $900, then called 5 weeks later only to find out that the manufacturer had "damaged" our door. We asked if/when another door would be available, but were told that there were no more of the same door in stock for the foreseeable future. We were quoted a shorter timeframe (another 2-4 weeks) if we wanted to select another style, but didn't love any of the other doors & were forced to take our business elsewhere. Beware of this place - I'd recommend negotiating the deposit down if you can. I would've appreciated an unprompted call to notify me earlier along the process that the door had been damaged. They seem to neglect their customers' needs and only seem to care about collecting every $ they can. Highly unprofessional business practices. read more

Not everyone that buys from here is a pro, a weekend do it yourselfer, or savvy handy people. They spend a lot of time telling what they won't do: no cutting, no drilling, no padding, no this no that -- we'll where was that cardboard barrier you said you would provide? Prices are good but they don't have everything in stock so be prepared to wait a week. Be sure to bring blankets, padding, the proper vehicle, ropes etc. they will simply shove it in your car and go back inside -- and they'll ask you to help. *because I accept full responsibility 4 star review but should really be 3 stars. I would stay clear of this company. The quality of their products are sub par. But I guess you get what you pay for and that is the reason they are so inexpensive. We ordered interior doors that were custom made. First round the glass inlay was covered in either paint or something that ruined the glass. The second time they replaced the doors it was the same problem. Talk about lack of quality control! Then instead I ordered different doors hoping that the change would make a difference. I had to pay more for these doors and I have yet to see the doors. We started this process back in March and it is now August and we still have no doors. We are our the money now and we just keep getting the run around. They blame it on the manufacturer but that's just a cop out because if that is who you are using then that's on you as a company. I left a $1500 deposit on a door. They said it took six weeks to finish. I called for weeks later, and they said call in another week. Almost six weeks after i left a $1500 deposit, they called to to tell me the door I wanted was out of stock. The person who called me also said "we have been trying to get a hold of you." They never contacted me saying the door I put a deposit down was out of stock and I was following up myself only to get "lipservice" from their staff (it was a women) "The door takes 6 weeks to be delivered and finished, and six weeks has not passed." The worst experience ever,especially from a first time homeowner!They got me going round in circles and did not have a solution UNTIL NOW!! First, no communication between warehouse and office. I placed an order Mar 2021, when it was time for me to pick up the door, I specifically asked " is that it?" then warehouse people told me " yes, you're all set" he just gave me a receipt and walked away only to find out that the casing was still missing so returned to the office and asked what happened ,I was anwered with "they didn't tell you?" Second : Waited 5 weeks for the casing that NEVER ARRIVED. I did not get any answer but this " at this point ,I don't know what to tell you." Then this man promised me that he will call the other store to check if they have it and will inform me back ,BUT NEVER CALLED ME BACK. Third: After waiting for few more weeks and called few more times to see if there's any update , I was finally informed that it is stuck somewhere in the port and should be out in 2-3 weeks in an UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER , SHE WOULDNT LET ME FINISH TALKING And still didnt get the casing. Again, I asked for someone call me back, but nobody did. Fifth : FALSE INFORMATION!! I called few more times and not one of them can tell me where it really is at, one person told me that it's there and should be done in 2 weeks since they still needed to paint it,AND the other person told me that the shipment barely arriving?!?!? That's when I lost it. That part of the construction was left out and been on hold for 3 MONTHS, and now I would have to pay the contractors extra for this! I've had enough, so I finally told them to refund me the price of that casing, and I don't want anything to do with their company EVER. This person took my email stating that they will send me a confirmation , as expected ...NO RESPONSE. To Urban Doors: I didn't give out all your names for a reason,but you all know who you are and how you work. Your products may have a resonable price, but my time is more precious. The name of this store should be titled "Urban Damaged Doors Company." I purchased $1,300 worth of interior doors and 3 of them were chipped, cracked and damaged including a double door frame. I complained and demanded a replacement on all of the doors and after THREE replacements the doors still came back in chipped and cracked condition. The manager basically told me that she cannot guarantee that these doors will arrive in perfect condition and simply told me take it or leave it in better terms. I took photos of the damaged interior frame and she said she had to submit it to corporate for a "solution" in which there has been no solution yet, nothing but damaged doors. The inventory is brand new wrapped in plastic but once the workers start handling it you can tell none of them give a damn about what happens to the doors. They have an amazing selection of products and finishes. I went in in March and after talking with the sales rep he suggested that even though I have a south facing door as long as I had a overhang beyond 4ft that I would be fine. He also indicated that the installing contractor would not do the work unless I had the existing overhang. The installation company came out prior to the purchase for measurements and they were aware of my selection of materials and measured the 4ft and indicated that I was fine, so I ordered the door. The door came in about six weeks later as promised and the installation was completed the following week. Within two weeks the door began to shrink. There was no adverse weather and the door was not exposed to any elements that would cause it to react this way in such a short time. The installation company came back out and said that he had never seen their products do this before and recommended that I contact them for a claim. I did so immediately and was told that I signed a contract and that the fine print indicated that they would not be responsible for any issues due to it was a south facing door regardless of what the sales rep said and installer indicated. I've made numerous attempts to contact the manager (Tessa) in their warranty department and they refuse to call back due to the warranty contract being terminated once I signed. Keep in mind, the sales rep indicated that as long as the inspection by the installation was done they would honor the warranty. Beautiful looking products and helpful staff at the Northridge store but a total disaster and loss over 2k. Buyers beware. read more

service was blah. It's hard enough to find contractors to cut, paint and install doors without being ripped off. I was told I could use wood/panel/solid doors for bathrooms. unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 bathroom doors panel began lifting as soon as installed and this place doesn't warranty that. I had to go through a big inconvenience to get a claim filed and by the time I recieved one exchanged door, it was over two months later. I paid 3 separate contractors to cut, paint, and install. I bought 11 doors, good prices, but not the quality or service I hoped for. Thru charged my contractor for the 2nd bubbled door without my knowledge and I was stuck with paying for it. urban doors said they would refund my money if I brought the defective door back, but I have no way of doing that unless I pay someone to so they said they'd send someone. They never sent anyone, the door is still in my garage taking up space and the first door replaced behsn bubbling again. My recommendation is just pay Home Depot for doors- they installed our outside garage door- paint, cut, install in one day and not dragged out by contractors who charge ridiculous costs for services they do not warranty or stand by. I must say it's a big store with what seems to be a large selection. We ordered double entry doors (service guy kinda un-friendly at the time of purchase) and the doors we ordered in mahogany wood, which is what the doors were made of on display for this style. Five weeks go by and my husband gets a call that they cannot make them in mahogany, but they can use some other kind of "hardwood." I was pretty bummed as we had waited five weeks to find this out and had no other option as they were already paid for (with mahogany!) and we couldn't waste any more time waiting again, as we really needed doors for our remodel project and couldn't waste any more time. They didn't refund us any money for the use of this "unchosen wood" which turned out to be quite boring and character-less. They've only been installed for a week now so I hope at least they hold up, especially after reading a few other reviews that claim theirs are somewhat falling apart. Fingers crossed! read more

I should have read the reviews prior to purchasing my doors. I ordered 20 doors and 9 of the doors were defective (cracks). They tell you 3 weeks we are now going on 3 months. They replaced the defective ones which the exact same defective doors and then you have to wait an additional 3 weeks. Once they see your number pops up on there phone the let it go to voicemail, and you will never get a call back. I am now stuck with 5 missing doors in my house because every week they tell me they should be coming in and they never arrive. It's been 3 months. Pass on this place. read more

The service was excellent and a great help to select my front door, I also learned alot about doors. If you want to have a good outcome for your home improvement project be sure you do or don't do the following: #1 DO NOT buy anything from Ted. Once he has your money he is done with you and will not return calls, emails or even remotely attempt fix any problems you have. Rumor has it that If you accidentally get him on the phone after he has your money, he might put you on hold and never come back. #2 Understand that they do not do customer service at the store level according to Anabel. All customer service must go thru the corporate office (that's where Ted works FYI). #3 If you use one of their recommended installers and they are going to pick the doors up for you, make sure that they inspect them thoroughly before taking them. Better yet do it yourself because if there are any flaws, dings, damage to them, UB will blame the installer (see #4 for info on Rosie) and the installer will blame UD. #4 Rosie is in charge of warranty replacements. Also does not return phone calls or emails (she did reply once to blame installer for damage...so mean!) Also doesn't seem to be in the office very often. #5 I'm going to double up on #3 (please review it if necessary). In the time of Covid when you have 4 guys in your house installing 9 yes NINE doors (seems like UB would offer better service on a sale like that) and you are not trying to be all close to them when working, it is imperative that you ensure the door builds and painting/primer is done well. If you don't, and there are issues, they have your hard earned money and will not do ANYTHING to fix a problem. Follow these guidelines and maybe you will be ok. Their sales give no info and I had never bought a front door so Wasn't schooled in what to ask and look for. Then it was sent to me without holes for handles or proper to code lock locations. Went in and was told for my front door I signed off on NO handle holes. When I specifically showed the sales guy which handle and lock I wanted and he told me they are only for show they do NOT actually sell the hardware. What in the world would he sign me off with NO handles? So the manager there when I went in to try and resolve how to fix this says to email her. I do and she acknowledged she got my email. Then Each month I keep emailing her with no further responses. So I go back in and she admitted she ignored my email! Are you kidding me? Then gives me the "warranty department " email and paperwork to fill out. Which I did. NOTHING! NOBODY responds to you when you have any problems from this company. Reiterating DONT USE them!! Go to HOME DEPOT or a door company that actually comes out and measures and installs properly!!! They were all covid safe and gave us great service! Bay was great, patient with us. However when the door came in it was the wrong door . I ordered the door right around Halloween and it came right before thanksgiving.... waited a long time for the door and it was wrong and also it was missing a piece of the outside trim. After almost 4 months later, I have the door that I ordered and the trim. They referred me to Javier the door installer, he is amazing! Very nice and very caring he helped me out! I feel like they should've done something else to apologize. All they said was they needed the other door back. We are remodeling the 1987 townhouse we bought a few months ago. The standard, "run of the mill" doors needed to be replaced as the home had been primarily used as a rental property. Our contractor suggested Urban Doors and I am so grateful he did! Joseph, Annabelle and everyone we worked with were responsive, well-informed and very helpful. Roman, the installer, showed up on time with one helper. They both wore masks and were mindful of our space--brought their own booties, cleaned as they went, etc. Roman's price for installation was much better than our contractor quoted us and the doors themselves were only slightly more than Home Depot for a much more interesting, creative and artistic look.
