I followed the process outlined on the instructions and within a few business days had a replacement order placed. Helen was super cool and easy to work with. As an architect, I have extremely high standards for the products I specify, and Urban Door completely failed to meet them. The door they presented as an exterior door started developing severe cracks just a few months after installation. Not only did it crack, but it also shifted, making it nearly impossible to open and close. And to make matters worse, when I reached out, they refused to honor the warranty, claiming it was due to "extreme weather." This is absolutely false--California weather is mild, and there is nothing extreme about it. Clearly, this door is unsuitable for outdoor use, and they do not stand behind their product. I will never recommend Urban Door again, and my firm will be canceling any future orders. read more

We ordered unfinished pine doors for or French Door project. When our contractor picked them up there were all kinds of jagged wooed pieces that shouldn't have passed inspection. The doors in question were sent back. We also left struck instructions we will be installing a 3 point locking system so they only needed to install that basic plate hardware because our contract actor will boot where he needs to. The 2 sets of doors came back now with hardware installed making it impossible to use our 3 point locking system. At this point we were living. Granted we have then strict instructions what d to do and what not to do. So, finally we got out doors, although they tried very rough boring when we Rolf them we would bore it. Our contractor days he could handle it. Noe that we're ready to instill we found another errr. They put the hardware at the top that would accept the locking rod on the wrong opposite side of each door. Out contractors working now to correct it. These constant errors are not even as horrible as their customer service. The guy the is supposedly the head honcho on the office area was arrogant and not willing to try to fix their error he never even apologized!! They said they're not responsible and it's not their issue because we installed it obviously we didn't see it before they are not answering our calls not our emails and no one reaching back to us. These guys are great if you don't care when your order arrives (weeks or months late) and you don't need any communication from them, and you are okay with taking care of any problems in the order yourself. My husband and I just went there today First time here and we were helped by Rebecca she seemed very nice at first and as we came back to return the doors we had bought because there was a bit of an issue she told my husband "why do you have to be such a pain in the ass?" Straight up like that. This is so crazy to me that their employees feel as they can treat their customers however they feel like it it's insane. I purchased two sets of exterior wood-and-glass doors from Urban Doors, and this has been one of the worst purchasing experiences I've had. First, it took months to receive the doors. There was very little communication, and the delay was far beyond what I was originally told. Second, they do not deliver the doors themselves, and they require you to sign a waiver stating that if your door faces a certain direction, there is essentially no warranty coverage. They also require that you seal the doors immediately after installation. I followed their instructions and applied two full coats of sealant right away. Despite doing everything they required, I had major door gap issues. Their initial "solution" was to mail me sticker pads to try to correct the problem. When that didn't work, they sent someone out who blamed the issues on my installation rather than addressing the product itself. Now the doors are taking on water, leaking, and there is visible water trapped inside both panes of glass. At this point, the product is clearly failing. I even reached out and acknowledged that their warranty exclusions are so broad they likely wouldn't cover anything, and simply asked them to refer me to a vendor I could pay to repair the doors. They wouldn't even provide that. I've since spoken to multiple professionals, and no one wants to touch these doors because of how problematic they are. I'm being told I will likely need to fully replace them. These doors were expensive, and the quality and support have been unacceptable. I would not recommend Urban Doors to anyone. read more

An absolute horror of a company. I went in store around October and fell in love with a front door--the door was the last one and broken and had to be ordered, the problems start here. In December, Ted the associate who helped us, called me informing me that the door arrived broken to the store. I wasn't in a rush so I let him know to order it again. The problems continued when I kept calling asking for an update on the door and kept getting the run around from Ted. I even resorted to going in person and asking for an update there, to which I always received a "next week" and come that day receive another date, this continued until February when I received my door finally. You'd think it stopped there, in less than 24 hours of my new door being installed, the door cracked in the exact same place as the original door I saw in store in October! Clearly, it's an engineering and quality issue now. I let Ted know and he said they will take care of it and replace it, to which I gave them the benefit of the doubt because I had ordered 12 other doors and had no issues. (It is now mid July and I've been given the run around again for months regarding my door. I also have to add that by this point my door has started to peel and bubble which shouldn't happen in less than 6 months on a 1.3k door) Tired of being ignored, I reached out to the owner/CEO Zem and made him aware of the situation with this door and he said that they will expedite it and I will have it in 2 weeks! The two weeks came, and I didn't get the door and received yet again, another "in 2 weeks it's in production". It's been two months of calling and driving to the store and I am not getting a response from anyone including the owner. I've called countless times, sent emails, went in person and I'm still waiting for my front door that I bought in October, 2024. Jose was the only person I called who came out and measured the doors and filled out the order for me at Urban so we'd make sure we got what we needed. When the invoice and order was created, I sent it to him and he caught a typo. His advice, expertise, experience and overall kind and helpful demeanor were invaluable. Urban is a good place, reasonably priced and delivered in time, despite some delays in the order process. If you take nothing else away from this though, call Jose to get your doors installed. sales staff knows nothing about door hinges, is unwilling to find out about door hinges and is unwilling to sell a simple sample so that I can compare colors. I waited 12 minutes to spend $10 so that I could borrow a door hinge and they made me buy it just to be able to sample it despite this being a multi thousand dollar purchase. We ordered an exterior door and it literally cracked wide open (can see light through it) ONE WEEK later and they are refusing to honor warranty saying this is normal. I don't know how this place is still in business. I'm not taking a gap in the joint. The actual wood door split down the middle. We showed pictures and videos and 3 weeks later they say it's normal and nothing their problem. Stay far away from this rip off. I walked in here with my wife to buy a front door for our home and saw a bunch of staff just standing around chatting about there weekends and ignoring us, we literally were the for a good 40min and no one approached us. After we saw a fort we liked we asked for help and the sales guy seemed like we were annoying him! We picked the door gave our information and were told he would reach out to finalize the purchases. Days passed I reached out to the store to see if I can buy the door and the sales guy told me they would have to charge me an extra 3% to do it over the email which honestly is just wrong. Regardless I agreed and said we are ready and the guy told me he would email us the form to fill out and that took literally over a week with me reaching out multiple times, when I did get the form the person who is supposed to be charging the card didn't even attempt to charge me and that took another week! I had to reschedule my builder multiple times delaying our work and progress. Then I get a call 5 min before they close and they tell me I need to resubmit due to a typo and with a ton of attitude. I express my concern and I got a response of well there is other customers and I can cancel if your not happy. I told them I would like to proceed but the guy with an attitude tells me well I'm going to have it on my supervisor desk and the order is delayed again. What a surprise no supervisor reached out. This place has a joke of a sales team that's really bringing this place down considering they actually have doors people want. Don't buy here if you have a project, you will be delayed.
