Can't recommend this shop enough! Not because of the convenience of it being half a mile away but because of the genuine care, knowledge and patience Josh had with me. He took the time to explain how parts worked and moved and that meant a lot. Thank you Josh! read more

Awesome local shop! Go out of their way to take care of you fast and efficiently. Super reasonable. Brought my bike in due to tires not keeping the pressure. Took care of me immediately. He worked with it. Discovered my pump had a defect. Didn't charge for the time or expertise. I've come to realize over multiple visits , he Really knows his stuff. read more

Amaaazing service. Super friendly, fast, and efficient. Josh fixed and exchanged my flat tire quick from tube to tubeless. His assistant, forget her name, gave me tips on bikes and shared stories of cyclists who come in to get their bike serviced who offer trainings and guides to those who want to improve their endurance and overall fitness. They seem genuine and sincere to want to help and offer their best suggestions and advice on bike repair and anything you want to know about bikes. Reasonably priced as well which I appreciated! Thank you Urban Cycling! Will be coming back for sure! :) read more

I have a new Lectric 2.0. I was riding it and within the first 40 miles... flat!! They were able to take me in on a Saturday, and Leonor made a few recommendations to me. I went with her recommendations. Josh certainly seems like the technical lead, and Leonor seems like the front product customer service handler. When I returned, she was honest and said they were actually not able to do what she had recommended because they had the wrong part. This may be seen as a bad thing by some. The reality is they could have charged me for that upgrade and I would've never known about it. So what I liked about it was that she was honest about it and did not charge me for the inside liner she recommended; because of the honesty I will continue to go back here... even though there are two closer Lectric service centers to my house. read more

I brought my two Aventons Pace 350 here and a vintage Bianchi for general tune-ups and was very satisfied with the work completed and customer services received. They were responsive with both texts and calls, and walked me through what was wrong with the bikes. How I knew they went beyond above and beyond their work was how cleaner my bikes were afterwards, meaning they put in the hours for some detailing. They cared about the bikes and I'm glad to have found a bike maintenance place I can come back in the future! read more

Tracked down some difficult to find parts and didn't give up over a lengthy period- found them and at a very fair price, too!

Josh is a stand up guy. Took my bike in with a late notice and we tried to get something custom to work...it was a failed attempt but that was still worth it for me to try. I don't trust a lot of people, but I have no issues trusting my baby in the hands of Josh. Came out with a tune up and the bike had been riding amazing and shifting flawlessly. Don't hesitate to bring your bikes in...or else you'll be waiting weeks with nothing to ride when the sun is out shining bright!!! read more

Josh stereotypes everyone who walks through his doors, and if he deems you not worthy, he is vert rude and judgemental......None of the bikes in the pictures are actually for sale at this shop....they are customers bikes that are being " worked " on that he uses to bait people into going there....and when you get there all the bikes for sale are complete garbage......do yourself a favor and drive the extra half mile down Carson St. to the town center and go to the shop thats across the street next to the liquor store across from Jack in the box....its called Vince's cyclery ......youll be happy you did.....Josh and Vince used to be partners, once you go to Vince's youll understand why they arent any more..... read more

I will start by saying we live very close to this ship and have used them many times. I have always felt the owner was a bit gruff, but the prices are fair and the work is always done well. Today I walked in with a technical question regarding a brake assembly. I was doing the work myself but needed a quick question answered. I walked in and greeted the owner as I was holding the brake assembly. I asked him if he could give me some quick advice. I could tell by the look on his face he wasn't interested in helping. He looked at me, with a bit of a smirk, and said.... "I'm busy". I get it.... I wasn't bringing him any new business (unless I was unable to compete the work myself....in that case, I would have brought the bike to him) but his attitude and unwillingness to answer a simple question is not the way to build a small business! So, I drove to Jacks at Bellflower and Spring. Asked a technician the question. Literally took 15 seconds. Got the answer I needed and left. I always like supporting small business, but the owner of this ship is a jerk. I will no longer take my bikes here. read more

What a terrific bike shop. I brought my E-BIKE in to get the battery and port switched out on Saturday afternoon. They originally said that they could not get to it until Wednesday, and that it would cost $120. 2 hours later they texted me to let me know that not only was it finished, but they would only charge me $70. I will definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to buy a new E-Bike or have one repaired. read more

Great local bike repair shop. Was looking to get some air in my family's tires and we were able to be assisted right away. Owners are knowledgeable about e-bikes. Prices for parts and labor are reasonable and they should start another shop closer the beach!

Shady business practice. Buyer Beware! I brought my son's tire in to get repaired. I asked how much and the lady quoted me $8. I asked how long, she said 15 min. So I agreed, and we waited. Few minutes later the tire comes back and it's time to pay. "That'll be $16." "Excuse me? You quoted me $8 dollars earlier?" "8 dollars for the TUBE. And $8 dollars for labor." Okay why didn't they just state $16 from the beginning? They totally just pulled a bait and switch and I'm pretty sure that's against the law. I literally paid double over what I was quoted. For that reason I am not returning because I have to wonder what other shady business practices are they doing. read more

Superb family owned and operated bike business providing friendly knowledgeable dedicated service.

These guys flat out get it. I've taken 3 different bikes to them and I'm stoked every time I come in to pick em up. They fitted me to my Specialized road bike which made a huge difference in comfort and ride-ability. I also wanted to swap the bars on my Electra Clunker to make it a true clunker and they nailed it. Had all parts in stock and they cleaned the bike to boot! Lastly I bought an older 21 speed GT and had them convert that to a Klunker for my son. It turned out phenomenal!! Before and after pics attached of both Klunkers and a few of my Specialized. Again, I could not recommend Urban enough! Top notch work and customer service all around. read more

This place is shady. We called them to see if they have stock and they said they have it. 3 of them. so we drove all the way there right after phone call. when we got there they said the bikes were already taken. wtf? so basically they already sold the bike to someone, (pre order) and they lied to us in case other customer change his mind or they just sold someone cuz they offered better price. so annoying...... wasted time and gas read more

Came into the shop today for the first time, what a great experience!!! Vincent helped me out, and probably one of the nicest, friendly, and most genuine people I've ever met in a retail scenario!!! From start to finish Vincent was thorough, and customized the new bike I bought to fit me and my riding just perfectly!!! The bike was also a very low and a fair price compared to other shops I visited before them!!! I would highly recommend them and will absolutely be back!!! Thank you for the great experience in your location!!! read more

I was recommended by a good friend and this place is great! Josh and Vincent are as authentic as you can get, these guys know what they're doing! I recently got my bike serviced here since I purchased the bike second hand and wanted an expert to check if their were any issues. Josh recommended me to upgrade my shifter since it was an older style shifter, what a great upgrade. I also purchased a set of 35c tires to replaced the current 25c that came with the bike for more ride comfort. 3 days later it was ready for pick up but the experience and work these guys put out could last a lifetime. The bike rides solid, smooth and fast, shifting is superb and falls right into gear. Took me a few times to get used to since it was a new upgrade. Overall this first experience won't be my last. I'm looking forward to bringing my Surly in for work! See you soon! Thanks guys! read more

This Mom and Pops shop has become my go-to LBS for all my road bike needs. Josh can take my bike in the morning for minor servicing and usually have it fixed that same day. Josh is VERY knowledgable when it comes to road bikes (all he's worked on for me is my road bike). The shop is well-kept and well-stocked and they keep pretty reliable hours. My go to shop, they know what they are doing. Helpful and friendly, only spot I trust my bike with.

This is my go to bicycle shop. Price reasonable. Customer service A+. Location plenty of parking. No complaints here

Recently purchased an electric bike from Urban Cycling and Josh was extremely helpful throughout the entire process from ordering the bike, dealing with the bike company's lousy customer service and expertly assembling the bike once it arrived to the shop. He provided terrific communication as to the status of when the bike would be delivered and when it would be ready for pickup. He even spent time with me showing me how to replace the brake pads and answering all my questions. My entire experience was A+++ and I will definitely be going back for my next purchase and any future maintenance/repair work.. read more
