Olivia did my curly cut and bounce back therapy wash. All I can say is WOW! Let me expand by saying that wash was phenomenal. I literally got chills during the scalp scrub. This was the appointment I needed and was the start of my self care day. I literally bought all the products she used on me, from the shampoos (2) and conditioner, to the curl cream and gel. And let's talk about the cut.. I definitely needed a trim but I was looking forward to a new shape. I wanted volume in my hair and after trying a new shampoo recently that destroyed my curls, I was desperate for a good result. Olivia definitely delivered. Not only did she give me the service I needed but she also educated me along the way on how to love on my curls properly to continually produce the results she gave. She showed me how to diffuse my hair, a process I have avoided due to lacking results in the past, and she provided details on where to buy the styling brush she used too. Sometimes when you get a hair service, you walk away feeling like things were lacking somewhere along the way. That wasn't the case here, she shared all her knowledge during the process so I could properly maintain my hair's curl and cut. I loved my experience and the vibe in the whole salon was immaculate. So many heads of beautiful curls around with laughs and smiles on everyone's face. Funny story, UBCS reached out to me 23 hours before my appointment to ask me if I could push the time back... I hesitantly agreed. Later that night I reached back out to them to cancel the new time since I wasn't going to be able to make it work. No response until I reached back out to them multiple times before they responded. They responded letting me know that I would have to forfeit the deposit since I had failed to give them 48hr notice... even though UBCS was the one that asked to change the time in the first place with less than 24hr notice. I responded letting them know that I wouldn't be coming back as a customer, no response. I get "policy" but not all situations are black and white. A little customer service and accountability would have gone a long way. Go ahead Urban Bloom... include how I didn't "follow the 48hr cancellation policy" in your response lol. read more

Love this place!!!! Both me and my kiddo have curly hair and have not had great experiences since moving to AZ a few years ago (hairstylists brushing out our dry curls , cutting them while wet, wanting to flat iron them, etc.) Upon walking into this salon I was sooo excited - a room full of curly haired folks like me!!! All the stylists have curly hair. It was so fun to be surrounded by all the curls. For the first visit they do education as well as cut and styling. They'll start with a convo about what you want, followed by an initial dry cut. Then a wash, condition, and style, followed by another dry cut to get any pieces that were missed. I really wanted to love Urban Bloom Curl Studio, but my experience was overwhelmingly negative. The atmosphere felt toxic... not welcoming or supportive, especially for a space that claims to cater to curly hair care and empowerment. Instead of feeling seen or understood, I felt dismissed and uncomfortable and seemed like a lot of customers felt this way. On top of that, the haircut was not worth the price tag. It felt extremely overpriced for the results I received. The thing about curly cuts is that yes it's a "specialized" cut but it does not take care of every strand to help dead ends, but it will make curls look bouncier. I've had better, more thoughtful cuts for half the cost elsewhere. I had high hopes, but unfortunately I left feeling like I wasted both my time and money. I had a wonderful experience at this salon. It was my first time going there so I booked the first visit education and haircut. The stylist was very helpful in understanding my current hair routine and what I wanted from this experience. I knew I would be in the salon anywhere from 90-120 minutes based on the information I was given while booking. She thoroughly explained the process of the haircut, wash, and style and made sure I understood everything. I started going to Urban Bloom Curl Studio in 2021 after I had to leave L.A. Traveling back to L.A. for my curly hair specialist was getting tiresome. I did A LOT of research because I am picky as hell about who touches my hair. I wanted to get on the Master Stylist/Owner's roster, but there was a 6-8 month wait. In the meantime she had her talented staff work on my hair while she supervised. I've been on the owner's roster now for a good 2 years and not letting my spot go. I relocated to Florida and then Georgia in the past 10 months and I fly back every couple of months to get my hair done. I refuse to go to anywhere but Urban Bloom, or my colorist in L.A. as a backup if Priscilla was ever unavailable. It took too long to find the best and I am not giving her up! I was blonde for about 10+ years and Priscilla gave me my best blond years. Hair was healthy (well as healthy as a natural curly brunette can be going blonde) and she was always able to obtain the look I wanted. I can tell her what I want and she just "gets" it. I decided to go back to brunette recently and she did a great job taking me back. She even understood when I had to get over the initial shock of being blonde for all those years and going back to the dark side. I love being a brunette again! They are honest about what can be achieved with your hair, or can't be achieved. When I wanted to go red Priscilla explained to me the maintenance involved. I decided it was too much and we chose another color. My point being is she isn't trying to "sell" you on anything. She works with you to find a color and style that works for your lifestyle. The salon is big with lots of space. The aesthetics and vibe are relaxing and chill. The front desk communicate well and are always friendly. Urban Bloom is very transparent about their policies, which are reasonable and fair. I've never had a problem with my appointments and I fly from the south every 2-3 months for them! For the people complaining about the price, you get what you pay for folks. You want to bargain shop with your hair, keep ruining your hair elsewhere. The owner has trained her stylists well so if the master stylist's rates aren't for you, go to one of the other amazing stylists. But don't complain about these women knowing their worth. I mean, do you like it when people want you to work for less than what you feel your talent or expertise is worth? Parking is easy as there is a lot right out front. The salon is clean and well maintained. Priscilla has created a curl oasis. Thank you for taking care of my curls! Why so long to post this review? Did you not read how long I had to wait to get on the owner's roster. Trust me when I say that seeing trained hair stylists for any kind of curl pattern makes a 110%+ difference. If you see the picture i posted I told my last hair stylist (keep in mind I've been with him who has his own salon in south chandler for over 10+ years minimum) when I asked them to diffuse and keep my hair natural and not to blow dry it straight or using a round brush as per their usual. After their very very sad attempt it didn't turn out nearly as beautiful as what I received from urban bloom. I find it annoying the fact that so many salons these days do not know how to manage our hair correctly. So i was determined to do some research and find a curly hair specialist. Turns out after all my research the place I chose my husband happens to know the husband of the owner of Priscilla through his brother. My husband and I are always totally for putting into local businesses and more so if one of us are familiar with the owners. Since we are on one income we couldn't afford to see Priscilla for my first blooming curly cut. So i got lucky to get an appointment with Ami on November 9th. There was a bit of a mixup i guess with her schedule so she was about 15-20 min late. But i didn't mind. Was just nice to get my hair cut after over a year and get out of the house for some "Me Time". I already had a general idea of the curly girl method based off so many videos/reels/tik toks etc. Some day I'd love to be able to afford all the nicer hair products like bounce curl/devacurl etc...but I make do with what i have for now and it works. I never in a million years thought I'd be able to give my hair this much beautiful definition and love the fact that this salon accepts all curl types and embraces it for what it is. Ami did such a wonderful with my hair and can't wait to go back for my next cut in the next couple months. Cancellation fee means they keep your 250 dollar deposit when you need to reschedule last min. It's impossible to get someone on the phone and even worse to try to get an appointment. I bet oler my appointment weeks ago and had to reschedule last min due to an emergency I try calling no one answers of course. I get a text instead and am told I need to pay 38 dollars for rescheduling plus another deposit to rebook so another 250. I didn't know this was a celebrity hair salon with Miami stylist? Bad enough I live a good 45 mins away and had to work around my own schedule to even get this appointment. I studied this studio for 2 years before jumping to scheduling not only for me, but for my daughter. I always had a hard time getting scheduled with a seasoned stylist. Always got someone NEW. The one time I scheduled with Marlene and less then 24 hours they cancelled and couldn't accommodate me for that Saturday due to Marlene catching COVID-19. Fast forward to yesterday. I tried calling the shop on Sunday to reschedule my appointment not realizing they are closed Sunday and Monday. Why did I want to give Haley and the rest of the customers the courtesy of not showing up when I have Covid. ANYWAYS I get a text message on Tuesday stating: "Good morning Kuulei, sorry we missed your call. We are closed on Sunday and Monday! Thank you for letting us know, and we hope you feel better. Unfortunately, since this is within our 48 hour cancellation policy, you will have to forfeit your deposit of $90 for today's appointment. I will go ahead and cancel that now for you. Please let us know if you have any questions or when you would like to reschedule and we'd be happy to help! -Urban Bloom Curls" ... Like WHAT?!? THE AUDACITY! This is the worst cut I've had in years. I was looking for someone who specialized in curly cuts because that's what I had in my home state. I was so excited to find this salon. The majority of the time was spent blow drying my hair. My stylist spent about 10 minutes on my cut. The cut is so choppy and when I asked that she texturize she told me she didn't texturize curly hair. This floored me. My curly specialist before always texturized my hair, giving me beautiful, whispy curls. Now I have to find someone to fix my hair. Very disappointed. read more

Probably one of the worst haircuts I've ever seen. Rated them a two because the ladies were really nice. This is how my daughters hair looked after we blow dried her hair for picture day. I was told this was normal and the cut was not meant to be styled straight. I understand this is a curly cut and style but I'm pretty sure many girls would still like to have their hair straight once in a while. This was unacceptable! Their solution was to go back for a correction but they don't promise it's gna be fixed, they kept saying it was a curly cut and this is what It was most likely going to look like again. Absolutely LOVED my experience at Urban Bloom! I had covid over a year ago and a surgery in September. Both of these events caused my hair to start falling out in clumps and handfuls. I really enjoyed my first appointment with Rebecca and can't wait to continue my wavy hair journey with her! I only figured out I had wavy hair in January 2020 and have been learning about caring for and styling it since then. I tried a different curly in salon in the end of 2020. Although it was a lovely salon and the people were nice, I just didn't feel like it was the right salon for me. I told her my hair felt limp and I needed a better shape and she basically said "add water!" And that properly styling my hair would ensure good "shape". Rebecca instantly understood and agreed that shape is critical for curly hair. She sat down and talked to me about my hair goals and took the time to make sure we were on the same page. I immediately felt at ease. She also made me feel like I could be honest through the process about what things I might want different. She went shorter when I asked and understood what I meant when I complained about an area of my hair that always feels heavy. Kinda literally too because I had my bands cut and blown out.
