I went in for a uv gel fill and ended up getting a spa pedicure as well. Very clean and prices were reasonable.

I have been to this salon a few times and have had positive experiences, however....my last visit was very disappointing. The nail tech was very nice and polite....(he wasn't the problem)....but the way he filed my nails was not squared like I asked. They were quite slanted, actually. I didn't want to be a difficult client, so I figured I would just fix them when I got home. No big deal. Another issue were all the flies and fruit flies buzzing around. There were tons of them and extremely annoying. No one said anything, nor offered any apology or made an effort to get rid of them, which I found to be quite unprofessional and disturbing. Lastly....and the total dealbreaker of all, was that ALL....and I mean ALL...of my nails started lifting and eventually popped completely off in LESS THAN A WEEK!! Totally unacceptable!!! After paying over 60 bucks, plus a 20% tip, I expected MUCH better service than what I got. Needless, to say.....I will not be returning. I will say, on a positive note, however, that the nice hot towel shoulder massage at the end was VERY nice and I would have gladly paid to have it last longer. (It was only for about a minute or two, at most, unfortunately.) Other than my last experience at your salon, I have had no complaints, but I regret to say that I will no longer be a customer of yours, sorry. read more

Very dissatisfied with my experience and would not recommend this salon. I was seated at a manicure station that was covered in dust and debris, and after my previous gel polish was filed off, I was never given the opportunity to wash my hands before the new polish was applied. Because of all the dust, it was difficult to see that my nails were uneven and crooked until later. During the appointment, the male technician repeatedly filed my skin, and when I tried to pull my finger away, he gripped it tighter instead of adjusting. The color I requested was unavailable, and the entire service felt rushed. He handled my nails with dusty fingers, and I can actually see dust trapped in the polish. To make matters worse, lotion was applied at the end, which only rubbed the dust into my skin. Overall, the salon lacked cleanliness and attention to detail, and I left extremely unhappy with the results. My nails look terrible, and I left genuinely concerned about the risk of infection. I wish I had gone elsewhere and will not be returning. read more

We just got Just 2 pedicures and requested the milk and I was sprayed with a Clorox disinfectant. Oops?! that's what it was treated as. Polish is a mess tech actually smudged them himself. Won't ever go back dropped 140.00 on messy toes! read more

I stopped in last night with my daughter and dropped $200 only to get home and realize every single one of my nails is lifting and not attached to my nail entirely. it's been less than 24 hours and everything I touch gets stuck between the acrylic and my real nail. I will now have to drop another sum of money to repair this shitty work. I will not be back but would love to be contacted for a refund. read more

My go to place!! I've been to many nail salons but Upstate is the best by far--I got my gel nails done and asked for a snowman and Jackie is the best artist and did an amazing job. The place s overall spotless and would highly recommend to everyone!! read more

I am not one to leave negative reviews and I know that no place is perfect... but after my recent experience I just can't let it go unaddressed. I want others to know so their nails don't wind up ruined like mIne. Let me start by saying, prior to now, I loved my experience at this salon. They've always been kind and not tried to sell me anything I don't ask for. They've always done a beautiful job. The first picture is my nails on Wednesday 6/30 just before going in with a plan to get a fresh gel manicure. These were my natural, healthy nails. Just grown out after 3 weeks. The next two pics are my nails yesterday after two extensions broke off only 4 day later! When I got there Wednesday I asked for a simple gel manicure. I had one nail that needed fixing after breaking.. She suggested to fix with a gel extension. She then pressured for several minutes to do them all like that. She claimed it would be safe and help my nails be stronger and more break- resistant She cut my natural nails SO ridiculously short as you can see. I'm guessing this was because she wanted them to be ugly so I'd have to keep coming back for more gel fills (more $$) She didn't do any of the usual cuticle prep/trimming or cuticle oil at the end as they always do. She was very rough and clearly annoyed when I couldn't bend my fingers whatever way she kept trying to move them so the nail forms would rest how she wanted. She also seemed annoyed that she had to keep filing the extensions shorter because I told her I did NOT want long nails.... Worst of all, she made up a price that was significantly more than they normally charge for a full set because she said my nails are "special" nails. Another nail tech stepped in and argued that she couldn't do that and made her lower the price. I'm thankful for her. I left feeling so frustrated and sad, knowing I was just an easy target because I'm new to manicures. I loved this place prior to this experience and now I am too afraid to go back. I've worked so hard for 9 months to grow out my nails and I feel like they are destroyed.Yes, I know it is a first world problem... but it's the one small thing I do for myself as a reward for conquering 30+ years of compulsive biting. My birthday is in a few weeks and I was hoping to have beautiful nails to celebrate. I do not recommend anyone go to Upstate Nails in Liverpool unless you can be sure you do not get the older lady with shorter hair. I don't complain. I tip very well, and I'm a very easy-going person. I'm not a difficult customer and can overlook small imperfections. I just wish I could go back and never agreed to this. read more

Manicure with Gel polish. Remove old gel .. I like that they soak your nails in a cotton ball with polish remover and foil.. the polish removes easier and does not stress the nail if they would continue to "grind" the nail. I seem to like the sparkly polish.. I feel that the prices are reasonable.. I'd give them 5 stars... read more

I can't say enough about Benny! He's the only one person who I believe & knows what he's doing when it comes to ingrown toe nail. This is my third visit and he's allowing my big toe nail to grown in normally which is painful but, trust me worth it! The hardest was 3 week ago and now I feel so much better. This visit was the shortest pedi I've had since I started. I'm so pleased and highly recommend Benny if you have a ingrown toe nail driving you crazy. I will continue to follow him where ever he goes. Thank you Benny for your professionalism & taking care of my issue. I'm so happy now! Five stars! read more

I have never been in so much pain after leaving the nail salon. I got a basic gel mani/pedi and the man who did my nails obliterated my cuticles with the hand file and when I asked him to be more gentle it seemed as if he was even more aggressive! He then took the cuticle clippers and ripped off whatever skin was left. He then realized how much I was bleeding and took a paper towel with the edge of his nail and staring wiping the blood off digging into my cuts he already made and continued to just paid over the blood and put the polish brush back in the bottle this is 3 days after and my fingers are so inflamed and sore!!! The manicure itself looks great but holy cow not worth all this pain I'm in. read more

Received my worst pedicure Will not be returning. Visiting the area and went to get my pedicure at this location with my sister. We both chose a package and had our nails down side by side. Unfortunately, my lady was overly focused in gossiping with the neighboring woman instead of giving me what I paid for. I even said she could go harder on the massage but my words were never heard. There wasn't much care to clipping or touchups or even cleaning up. I'm even concerned if things were sterilized here. Beyond my horrible experience, the whole time took 2 hours! No thanks read more

Do not go here. A simple set of acrylics took two hours and in the end they are uneven and feel awful. They were unable to give me the design I wanted. read more

Visiting my daughter and needed my powder gel manicure redone. She made an appointment for us here. I wish I got the gentleman's name who did my nails. He did an excellent job. Smooth and not too thick and sides covered. Also pushed back the cuticle and trimmed so the full mail got color. PLUS the hot towel for the shoulder massage and hand massage were wonderful. My daughter got the pedicure which she loved as well!! Highly recommend plus it's next to wegmans so you can pick up a snack or drink. read more

I have been having my nails done here for years. They always do a great job. I highly recommend Upstate Nails. Excellent friendly service.

Do yourself a favor and just stay away you'll thank me later. I have always given them multiple tries hoping they'll get better but nope! Always a new person who does a half ass job and the hygiene of the place gross read more

This place did a terrible job on my hard gel fill. I called and the guy who answered phone said they knew how to do a hard gel manicure, so I scheduled an appointment and came in. The woman who did my nails took HOURS to do them and they looked terrible. I had to keep asking her to fix the nails because they were different lengths and not smoothly filed, it was awkward and uncomfortable to keep saying, "hey this doesn't look even". I felt bad for the lady doing my nails as she clearly had no idea how to do a hard gel fill. I went to a different nail salon today and they said the job this place had done was the worst they'd ever seen. The gel had cracked and started lifting up on several of the nails. That had never happened before. I had to pay to have the job Upstate nails did removed and have a whole new set applied. I feel annoyed that I paid Upstate to do such a poor job and that they said they could do a hard gel fill, when they clearly could not. Save your time and money and go literally anywhere else. Honestly, I've been getting my nails done for years and this place was really shockingly bad. read more

If you're looking for some me-time, this is a great place to go. A little pricey, but worth it. My nails look very good and although they're acrylic and regular nail polish, they haven't even chipped yet. They're very nice and not at all condescending (which I've experienced awful customer service at other salons in the area *cough cough nu nails cough cough* The guy who did my nails was so helpful. I was between a couple of colors and he helped me choose the one he thought I would like better. I'm so in love with this place. He wasn't even rude about the fact that I bite my nails. It's very clean and they helped me immediate. No wait at all. I'll be back ! read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS. I have never been to such a horrible nail salon. My friend and I went to get our nails done and the women started my nails and first she kept burning my nail beds with the nail drill, I kept shaking and asking her to stop and voiced to her that it hurt really bad and she didn't even care or say anything just looked at me weird. Second I wanted white colored acrylic and she did gel which I don't like because it never lasts and always chips so she didn't listen to me and didn't do what I wanted! Lastly a fill for acrylic is way too overpriced, the total was $50 and that is NOT worth the shitty service. Not to mention my friend ended up walking out without getting her nails done because the women she was with kept telling her no of what she wanted and was being loud and rude to my friend. With that all being said DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I WANT MY DAMN MONEY BACK read more

I have never written a Yelp review before but I just got the worst dip manicure of my life. They are covered in scratches and bumps. On some of my nails, the dip is attached to my skin and rough. On other nails it doesn't even go to the edge. But every nail looks like it was done by a 6 year old. The color is even spotty on some of them. I kept looking and pointing things out and they made me feel like I was crazy so eventually I told them it was fine. I can't believe I actually paid for this. I've been o the door for 10 minutes and 2 of them have already cracked. Never going back! I recommend you don't go either read more

Very 1st time here but felt it had enough (+) reviews to warrant a visit. Super clean and no chemical smell noted. Greeted immediately and asked what I needed. Chose Spa Pedicure. Had a large selection of polishes like, OPI and Essie. My technician, Kim, was lovely. Took special care to check for right water temp, etc. Included an extra service, ( ten minutes chair massage, regular mani or waxing) Very nice! Highly recommend. read more

Incredible nails here they fixed my nails after I made a terrible mistake going to a salon in the mall lol this place is my new fav

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but this time I have to because my experience was so bad. The guy was rude, kept answering the phone and stopping and helping other people... he was pissed when I said a "powder fill" but it was my real nail not acrylic. I asked if he had a light yellow and he just looked at me. But overall how my nails turned out was so bad I think a child could have done better. I'm not sure why I paid and tipped I just want to go somewhere else and get them redone at this point. Just don't go here, find anywhere else. read more

Linda did an amazing job! I am so glad to have found this diamond in the rough (of many bad salons) in the Syracuse area! After having my nails totally destroyed at another salon, Linda gave me a full set w/ gel and i'm extremely happy with the results! Prices were very reasonable - $50 for full set and gel polish. As i left Linda gave me a coupon to use for next time. I'll definitely be back in 3 weeks to get my nails done again! read more

I come here all the time but today was highly disappointed in my visit. I was not given the option for the back massage that comes with the spa pedicure. The 10 minutes leg massage is included in the pedicure that I selected. read more

Called last minute for an appointment and they were able to get me in with in 45 minutes of my call. Temperature check and immediate washing of hands upon entry. Great staff who greeted upon entry as well. Super nice nail technician I had. I asked for a specific color in dip (bubble bath) and they had it! My nail technician was patient with my decisions on the shape of my nails because I'm super indecisive with that. She did an incredible job and fixed every little detail of my cuticles and polished my nails to perfection. Also received a great little shoulder and hand massage after. Wish I got her name. I am so sorry to be venting on here but this wierdo at upstate nail salon first blamed for not having my mask on my nose, which I did have it on my nose, and second they all crowded up on me when I started to ask, "can you tell me how is it that I don't have my mask on?" when clearly, seen by all clients too, I did have my mask on properly...this lady was Definitely on her period and in distress and decided to take it all out on me. My daughter was just as shocked to see them asking me to put my mask on when clearly I had it on...then i just pull it down a tiny bit to get into my phone with Face ID and they flipped! All this while I am at least, if not more than 25 feet away from anyone! Mind you Linda the owner had nothing to say...sadly, we only go there because we like Linda, otherwise it's not the greatest service. Believe me when I say it. My daughter and I got up and left...Famous nails here we come! read more

In my ongoing quest to find "my nail place" I ventured to Upstate Nails (a few friends recommended it), I was NOT disappointed! It is a beautiful salon, very relaxing. The woman at the front desk was very welcoming and I was sat right away. I got a spa pedicure & gel manicure which is on special Monday-Thursday, for $65 I got the royal treatment! Kevin was amazing, he took his time and my hands & toes look amazing! They have a very unique customer program, to actually get cash credit (5% - if you pay with cash, 3% if you pay by card) the money accumulates on a card to be used at a later date. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back, I think I may have found my place! read more

I've been here many times and always leave happy. BUT today I had Andy for a spa pedicure + 10 minute massage and it was the best I've ever had. THE. BEST. EVER. He was very thorough and meticulous with the pedicure. He massaged each foot/leg for what seemed like forever (in a good way - I almost fell asleep). I honestly thought the 10 minute massage was complete after the pedicure but nope. The back massage was equally as awesome. If you go for a spa pedicure, request Andy! read more

I've gone here about 4 times, hoping I'll have a better outcome. It's very clean and the people are nice. However, every time I've gotten dipping powder, it's ruined within 6 days.
