I went to go get my nails and eyebrows done today and they not only made no changes to make customers more safe from COVID but I also caught them doing something that made me insanely nauseous. They use a bowl (which didn't look sanitary) and poured acetone into it, after soaking my nails in that I watched the nail tech pour my used acetone with polish chips and all back into the acetone container. My nails do not look like I had got them done professionally and have already chipped on the side (it's the same day and I got a gel manicure so it should last for around 2 weeks). On top of that I got my eyebrows waxed and it's the worst they have ever looked. I came home and tried to fix them as fast as possible. One eyebrow is very obviously higher than the other as well as the tail of my eyebrow just doesn't look right. Save yourself the trouble and the money and don't go here. I just had hands down the best pedicure of my at Star Nails Today. Jay took care of me and did an awesome job! It was my first pedicure since February bc of the pandemic and I am so happy I chose to give myself the time to come here and take care of me. The polish job amazing!! The massage AMAZING! ( I also added an extra 5 mins massage on to my pedicure, I highly recommend!) The place was clean and everyone wore masks. I cannot say enough good things about Jay and how impressed I am with him! Had a mani/pedi done recently. The manicure and pedicure came out well. HOWEVER, THE SALON'S COMPLIANCE WITH COVID-19 WAS BAD!!! Pedicure chairs were not spaced properly; every chair was open, and two patrons right near me removed their masks! They were not corrected by staff. Manicure tables were the same.... Cleanliness/ sanitation was not up to Covid-19 standards! Very small salon space, and protective procedures for Covid-19 were not followed. read more

The employees at Star Nails are as friendly and accommodating as it can get. While traveling abroad, I had a nail salon use a gel technique that badly damaged my natural nails. The people at Star Nails were incredibly gentle and helpful when removing the old, thick polish/coating. This once-hidden gem is a breath of fresh air in the often over-saturated nail salon marketplace. Appointments are not necessary but if you are in a hurry, highly recommend. The service is quick once you are in a chair, but as this salon grows in popularity, walk-ins can expect to wait at least 30 minutes for service. It's well worth the wait. As I said, service is quick and meticulous once you in the chair. The staff is super-friendly and it only takes a few visits for them to recognize you by name as well as recall other details you've shared during your visit such as children's names, significant other, occupation, etc. All of this awesomeness in a clean, well kept environment with prices $5 to $10 less than others in the area-so put your savings in your tip-you'll be remembered! read more

I love Star Nails. Since I moved to CNY from Jersey in August, I've been driving here from Oswego at least monthly for gel manicures. The wait is hardly ever more than a few minutes and they let you make appointments same-day, so I can't complain. The gel always lasts at least two weeks - sometimes longer! All of their instruments are always clean, the staff is friendly and kind, and best of all, they only charge $25 for a gel manicure. I've never had a "nail place" in my life but I do now. My experience at the salon wasn't a bad one, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing the staff was friendly enough but less than 24 hours after getting my gel manicure one of my nails have chipped. This has never happened to me in the past with any other place I have gone. I'm not sure if its the gel polish they use or if it was the fact that they were so busy and he was rushing that he didn't fully put on the top coat or let me nails dry completely in between. read more
