Horrible.
In general, UPS drivers--over the dozen or so times that a package has been sent to me via UPS--never even attempt to buzz the my condo complex front door (which connects to my cell phone whether I'm home or not). Instead, they leave those annoying sticky notes that lie and say that no one was available. Thus, 100% of the time UPS "delivers" something to my door, I end up having to go to a center to pick up the package myself.
Specifically (to this UPS center), pretty much some of the worst customer service ever. I walked in and waited 5 minutes before anyone even looked in my direction. There were two employees behind the counters, two customers, and another employee who might have been on break but was out on the lobby floor -- he was bantering with one of the employees about how he was going to go take a nap, and then he got on his cell to make a personal call. Again, five minutes before any acknowledgment that I had walked in the door.
When one of the women behind the counter finally walked over to me, she wasn't exactly overtly rude or grouchy--but she didn't even make eye contact and barely said hello. When she came back from looking for my package, she punched in some keys on the console, then shoved the signature device in my direction--literally without a word. Since I had been through this rigmarole a dozen or so times before, I understood that I was supposed to sign, so I did, and tried to cheerily say, "Thanks!"...no response.
After I finished opening my package, I contemplated writing a Yelp review but then decided to just put it all behind me, grateful to get out of there. (Meanwhile, the other female employee is bantering with a customer about how the company never shows them any love.)
An hour later, I get a voicemail that says I left my package at the front desk. Confused, I returned the call. The gentleman who had called me couldn't explain to me whether I had left the package or if there was another package or what...so he transfers me to the front desk. One of the female employees answers and tells me that she has a long line of customers and that she'll have to call me back. An hour passes, no call. I call back, and they explain that they will call me after they close. I reply, "But if you call me AFTER you close, how can I pick up the package if there's really still one there?"
To bring this whole nonsensical account to a conclusion, the woman finally calls back and explains that she found an envelope in the TRASH CAN (where I had thrown it away after opening my package) and that there was NOTHING in it.
So the moral of the story is, Team UPS is (a) lazy in delivering packages to the door, (b) inept at welcoming customers when they come to pick up packages at the center, and (c) incompetent in deciphering what is a package versus an empty envelope that has been left in a trash receptacle. Good luck with that business model, UPS. Oh, and for anyone who wants to send me anything, try email or the US Post Office, please. read more
