Stunning that UPS is still in business. Their freight orices are exorbitant, and over the past 5 years, NOT ONE of my packages has ever arrived within the time frame estimated on their website - I receive a package form these jokers once every two weeks on average. It's a sad day when one of our government institutions (US Postal Service in this case) provides a timelier and more cost effective service compared to a private sector laughing stock like UPS. UPS is very incompetent in their way of handling wrong-address deliveries. TWICE packages have come to my doorstep that I did not order!!! The customer service to me, is very bad because when I called to tell them a package meant for a different address was left on my doorstep, they insist that I need to provide THEM with the tracking number! I do not want to touch the package! What is so hard about taking my address info, apologizing, and picking up the package so it can be delivered to the correct address????? Ridiculous! UPS customer service is horrible. I received a notification that my package which contained perishables would be arriving a day early, when I would not be in town. I tried to follow the link to change the date of delivery and they wanted to charge me $9.99 to change the date to the date I had already scheduled the delivery for. I then tried to call UPS and after answering the autobot's questions, was hung up on 5 times. UPS is horrible. If you are a business, DON'T USE THEM. Summary: UPS tolerates, and defends racist behavior, or at the least defends rude employees, and that they seek every way to milk a dime from the customer, and they don't care about the way packages entrusted to them are treated. The details: I don't like doing social media complaints since they seems so cowardly. In this case, I gave UPS a chance by filing a complaint, but was effectively discounted or dismissed as " just another stupid customer". So this feels justified. 1) A shipper sent a package which required an in-person signature. My choices were to stay home and wait for the driver to show some time during the day. They couldn't give an ETA for delivery. If is could stay home, I could have it redirected to another address (including a UPS store) for an additional $6; or I could take time off work and go to their Rancho Cordova Customer Center M-F between 3:30 and 6:00 p.m. to pick it up. 2) I chose to go pick it up. I was to bring the "Infonotice" (the call slip) and a government issued picture ID to get the package. I arrived, waited for the guy to decide to attend to me, I presented the Notice and my DL. He asked why I was there. I re-presented the documents. He asked again more insistently why I was there. He effectively refused to help me, despite having the claim slip and my ID in his and and seeing what they were, until I spoke. It was as if he wanted to see if I could speak English. In America today this sort of racist conduct is becoming more open and common. After in complied and told him why I was there he took the claim slip and literally threw my DL back at me. The package was damaged and taped up with a lot of tape. I commented on it, he s response was "enjoy it". 2) I called to file a complaint. The person taking the complaint began to defend the employee's conduct by telling me they could just give me the package with only my ID. I had told her I had given both documents to the guy. It also told her it felt as if he wanted to see if I could speak English or was doing some kind of power play to make sure I knew my place. I also told her the "delivery" method entered into the system said the package was delivered to my home. That was a lie. She brushed it off. I told her their options for getting the package were extremely inconvenient or carried an additional cost. At first she implied I could have had the package sent to a UPS store for no charge. I called her on it. She then said she had no control over the policies. I other words, it was a "take-it-or-leave-it attitude". I told her about the condition of the package. Her response was priceless. She said they have no control over the condition the package arrived in. If it's not the UPS personnel handling the package from pick up, in transit, and on delivery, then it must be little elves sneaking in the warehouse. All-in-all the experience has left me with the conviction that UPS tolerates, and defends racist behavior, or at the least defends rude employees, and that they seek every way to milk a dime from the customer, and they don't care about the way packages entrusted to them are treated. read more

This is a super late review but I will never forget the above n beyond service Mia (night supervisor) provided for me. On the night of June 22nd I arrived at this UPS facility 5 minutes after the will call pick up closed. I was not told by the customer service agent over the phone that there was a window of 30 minutes to pick up your package. Needless to say I was highly upset. It was dark, gates were closed and no one was around to help. I saw someone from a car and I kindly yelled to get his attention. He walked over and told me me they were closed n there was nothing he could do to help. I explained the severity of the situation of which the package I desperately needed to pick up was indeed a check that was shipped and was definitely time sensitive. He was empathetic to my situation n left to grab a supervisor. There came my savior Mia. She checked my iD and asked for my tracking #. Ten minutes later she returned with my package n I tell Ya I was almost in tears with joy. Mia didn't have to do what she did but she knew that I was highly stressed out and believed I was not informed about the hours of will call. My experience n perception of UPS completely flipped from negative to positive just because of Mia. Mia if you see this, thank you so much. You saved me that night. God bless you. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. One day shipping has turned into a week. Someone needs to be home for the package so I called after the first delay to see what the problem was. I was told that I could come in and pick the package up. Decided that was the best move so I wouldn't need to be at the house. I was then called back and told that they didn't have the package but it would be out for delivefy the next day. Fine. Next day comes and goes, no delivery. Promised the next day, no delivery. This has gone on for 5 days. I understand delays but the promises and lack of follow through is infuriating. Update: Finally got someone fantastic on the phone. I don't remember her name but she told me she would personally go look for my package. Literally 45 seconds later I received a call back from her saying my package was sitting right in the warehouse. Apparently it was being scanned every day out for delivery and never loaded in the truck. Guess the large packages take up too much space... Rasied the review from 1 to 3 stars because this person was very awesome to speak to and went out of her way to correct my problem. read more

Update on 10/29 I had ordered another package from Amazon and this package is smaller so it should have been left. Once again Ups fails again. I had checked the front door constantly and when I started studying while waiting for the package they left the failed to deliver note on my door again. I was home still and once again. I will not change my rating of this place ups has failed twice in a row. Next time I'll leave a note on the door to leave the package. I refuse to drive so far to pick up a package within a 3 hour time frame. oh my god. First of all they didn't deliver the package to me even though I was at home at the time of the delivery due to the fact that they needed a signature @!#@!$@!$@! and they didn't bother to knock on the door. I'm so furious. It was a one day shipping that was paid for and there was no delivery. Then I changed it to be picked up instead but it came to this location which is only open during a window of 3:30pm-6pm which really pisses me off even more so because I have classes exactly around those times. I actually drove to this place thinking they would be open around in the morning but they are not and I want to change it from pick up to delivery otherwise I'm about to refuse this shipment because I'm just that angry I don't want the package anymore and I just want a refund. UPS driver threaten to make it a living hell to have any packages delivered to my address. He delivered on his threat! I filed a formal complaint and it is still a nightmare to get any packages delivered. Why do you ask? His wrath unleashed after I asked him to stop blocking my driveway as I tried to leave my house. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE EARTH. Their claim system for a package created on UPS.com creates a loop within which one cannot complete claim process nor cannot get help for claim!! Used UPS.com to ship on 9/14, which creates it's own "account number" to create label. Package arrived in Laveen, AZ. ISSUES BEGIN: 1) Shows out for delivery on 9/16 - then lost......HOW does that happen? 2) Called 800-742-5877. Incompetent rep sent message to the shipper center here in Grass Valley instead of destination center. Center supervisor called within hour, apologized & said he would try to send message to Laveen, AZ. 3) NO call back from Laveen, AZ. 4) Called 800# again. Rep not allowed to start claim process, just sends emails. 5) Started claim process for 1Z9T0R0G0320025213 per email, but I must update a profile with account payment method and profile need to be logged into twice and won't accept 2nd login even though 1st login was accepted. Process just finishes with "UNABLE TO PROCESS REQUEST. PLEASE CHECK YOUR INFORMATION" without explanation of error or resource for help. if I could put a -10 I would. This experience has been a nightmare. I tried to send a surprise Easter package to my MIL/Grandma. It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday. I checked and it said out for delivery. I called to let her know a package was coming that day. Then it said failed attempt. What? She was there. So it said it would be reattempted the next day, I let her know and I called the UPS store and made sure they knew how to deliver it. Again, failed delivery. What?? She was there waiting. So called UPS store again and they said they called the distribution center and let them know to push the button so she could come down and get it. Again. 2 failed attempts. The camera in the lobby does not even show they came in the building. Now, they are sending it back to me! Are they nuts? I have a package that requires a signature. I had the package held at this location for pickup. I was told by the UPS lady that called me to verify everything that my girlfriend could pick up my items as long as the address on her ID matched the shipping address on the label, which it does. She took down my girlfriends name and said it would be no problem. When my girlfriend arrived she was told that she couldnt pick it up and the guy said he doesnt "trust her". He took the UPS slip that i gave her that the UPS lady said to give her for pickup and would not give it back. I've been there multiple times for the evening pick up service (9-930) and everytime I've experienced excellent service. The staff have been welcoming, on time and professional. Yesterday​ they really went above and beyond, I missed my delivery and was not on the list to pick up my delivery that evening from them yet they still attempting to fix my box which is like finding a needle in the haystack. They took down 4 pallet sized bags and dug through to find my box and they delivered ! Bravo to the evening team ! read more

For the last week I've been tracking a package that was supposed to arrive 11/13/14. On 11/13/14 at 10:00am the ups website said it was on time and I called and spoke to a representative for ups who also said it was on time. At 2:00pm on 11/13/14 all of sudden the website changed it to be delivered the next day. No notification, email, text, etc. was given. I called ups again asking what happened and the guy who answered said it missed the truck oh well. Didn't care or apologize at all. What a joke for customer service. Fed Ex from now on! read more

Super helpful, genuine people working at this location. I screwed up a package delivery for work and these great folks helped me find the packages, helped me put new dry ice in and get them out for air transport- they even offered me more ice and repeatedly asked if they could further assist me. One package was already out at Mather, they went the extra mile to call and locate it and even drove over there to get it for me! You can't ask for more awesome service than that! These guys rock! I went to this customer center to pick up my package. I had to go out of town to a wedding and needed the wedding gift which was shipped late. So I drove to pick up a package that I had changed to be picked up. I probably should have brought a tracking number with me but I figured if they have my info they could get my package for me, but i was wrong, apparently they won't give you a package without the tracking number! Even with my address the package didn't show up. This was probably the worst time to not have had my phone with me, because they don't have any internet service there either that i can look it up real quickly, so I had to drive back home and look it up and then come back to get the package. And when I did get back, I saw him not even go far in the back of the storage, but he was in eyeview of the opening doors and I saw him grab the package. Really? Why couldn't you have done a quick check instead of telling me "No i need a tracking number, sorry this isn't showing up,bla bla.." This was just a terrible experience for me and a waste of gas and I hope it doesn't happen again. I haven't had much pick up package experience so I didn't really know what to do besides go there with an id and get my package. I wish they would have told me I needed the tracking number before I drove there, all they really said was to bring a government issued id. So i figured they'd be able to look it up, but I guess there system doesn't update once they have received a package in their own facility. I did get my package once i came back with the tracking number, so it was in the facility (i checked in the morning and it said it had been at its destination since 8 am and i went at 4pm to pick it up so i don't know why there system is delayed) and yay for that. But BOO for the customer service. The man behind the desk was rude and seemed like he didn't care much was having a bad day or whatever. So just bring a tracking number and you won't have such a hard time as i did. read more

I very rarely write reviews. I live in a rural area. Usually our driver is helpful by actually leaving the packages at the gate or on my porch but every so often they drive up to the gate tape a slip on it and back up and leave... (I watched it happen) then I get an email stating I had a failed deliver... Now here is where this UPS Hub gets a massive fail from me... I had to go through Amazon to get some sort of a resolution. Amazon reps tried to work things out t(o not make it super inconvenient) the hub is an hour away and I am only able to pick my package up according to UPS during the hours of 9-9:30 pm. Tanisha was extremely rude and not helpful. When pressed she wouldnt give out her last name and stated she was the only one working there by that name. When asked about her manager, she stated his name was Joe. Big shocker that I never received a followup phone call on this... This is now the third time I have had to deal with crappy customer service. read more

I received a notice from UPS that I was going to have a delivery the next day that required an adult signature. My estimated delivery time was between 1:30 and 5:30 PM. I worked my daily schedule out so I would be home during that time. When I got home at 12:30, an attempt had been make at 12:05. After talking to several agents, the best resolve was that I could pick up the package later that day between 9:00 and 9:30 PM. Ordered wine, stayed in on day of delivery to sign for it. Warm afternoon, two people in house, doors and windows open, dog ready to bark at anything, garage door up to show we were in residence - no UPS. A "you were not in" sticker on door at end of day! We have a one-way gravel drive and a turning area 6ft from the room we were in. Really doubt that he/she attempted to bring vehicle up to house. Probably decided not to bother and walked quietly up to front door with sticker. So I call UPS and eventually get to a human being who won't re-schedule unless I pay $6 on ccd. Their new date was no good so in the end I spent an hour driving to their service center to pick it up. Snotty response from UPS "service" professionals was that my $6 couldn't be refunded; "wouldn't is the word not "couldn't". Amazed that a company so big doesn't give power of action to it's so-called service team and are happy to let me go and to YELP about it for a measly $6.
