If I could give a negative star I would. I never receive my packages from this warehouse on time. The drivers they send are lazy because Union City are the very southern tip of their area so our house is the very last box at the end of the day. Today was the last straw. 10 hours ago my box was scheduled to be delivered to my house, 3 hrs ago magically the receiver changed the delivery to a store pick up .4 mi from my house. Really UPS??? Could you hire a lazier driver? Are you sure he's not just chucking them in a dumpster or taking home some boxes to have free gifts? Now if you will look at the attached photos at 10:11a this morning I was to receive the package by 5:45pm. Package out for delivery 6/11. 6 minutes later, status updates "Package requested by receiver to be held at UPS". We did not request that. Called UPS, representative told us the local branch will call us to re-schedule. They did not. Called UPS again, and representative told us the same thing. Local branch still did not call. My low rating is for UPS as a whole. I changed the delivery for me to pick up in person after a over 7 days sitting in the warehouse/truck. It was the only way I was getting my package. The employees at the Customer Center were fine and helpful. I was in and out. But the point of a delivery/logistics company is that packages should be delivered, not picked up. I have honestly never seen a business more incompetent than this Ups warehouse in Hayward. Packages are out for delivery every morning, go back to the warehouse without getting delivered every evening, and are out for delivery the next morning again and the cycle continues for a month without the package actually being delivered to the customer. Every single package is delayed by at least 15 days, with no accountability whatsoever. And the customer care don't have a clue as to where packages actually are. The center was nice when I had to pick up my box. That's what the 2 stars are for. As for UPS as a whole during this pandemic- taking 3 stars off and would give them a 0 - terrible! All the other carriers seem to have no issue getting into my complex to deliver. With UPS, the message always is, no one home. I'm home every day during the SIP. Not a valid reason to not deliver. One time I had to go pick it up at some random drop off store in the neighborhood, another time I had to go to their center to pick it. The final straw, I just got word they damaged my package and had to toss it and will be notifying the sender. The sender is going out of business Pier 1 that no longer carry what I bought. Ups is he worst carrier by far. We never get ground shipped packages until after 8pm or 9pm that if your lazy drivers deliver the packages at all. Or they will reschedule. Stay away from UPS. Use any other carries by all means if you have a choice. UPS has delayed already a couple of packages for me by a week or more. Currently there is another package that is delayed by almost a week now. At first if was saying "out for delivery" on the day it was expected to be delivered, however by the end of the day it changed to "Unable to deliver. Will be delayed by 1 business day". However next business day it changed status to "Information unavailable". I have waited another day and nothing changed, no delivery. UPS customer service is horrible, been trying to call them to find out what's going on. They don't have an answer. Talked to customer service supervisor over the phone and they promised that someone will contact me soon from the UPS warehouse facility that manages my delivery. Couple days passed and nobody contacted me. Finally went to UPS warehouse personally expecting that they can help me and I can pick up the package in person. And for my frustration all they say is "We can't give you the package because it needs to be scanned first, but we don't know when it's going to be scanned and just wait unknown amount of time". Even though they have a sign saying due to COVID-19 packages may be delayed by 1-2 business days. Not a whole week! At this point I just give up. Just want to see how long it will take for them to deliver my package.. may be another week? Or two? read more

This UPS center is sometimes my worst enemy! I run a small business and my vendors use UPS to ship my inventory. I have had over a dozen times where my packages are held at this facility for over 7 days. That is extremely horrible for business! I've even went as far as contacting UPS customer service and they are also no help to the situation. The reps will inform me that someone from this location will contact me however I never receive a phone call from them. If you are using UPS and this is the last facility before your package is scanned out for delivery, I highly suggest pickup against delivery because you are more than likely to receive your package that way rather than depending on their "SLA" to deliver on time! I've since upgraded my shipping to FEDEX however I still have a few vendors that ship through UPS so I schedule for pickup instead. FYI pickup window is ONLY, M-F 3pm to 9pm! Good Luck. read more

Then after talking to ups and giving them my gate code, assuring me they would deliver it this time, the driver refused to go back. I was waiting all day for the Medical Essentials Supplies from UPS. I gave them the Callbox number so the driver can come upstairs. The Callbox number is connected to my phone on Delivery packages to manage delivery and the driver never came. The driver stated that he attempted to deliver the package today and nobody was home! They sent my package to an access point without my consent and to a liquor store of all places, even though there is a UPS down the street from there. The driver only attempted to deliver once and it was after 9:30p when my gate was closed. Someone called me back after I called and complained twice. She basically told me I had no choice but to pick up from the access point. When I tried to file a complaint, she kept talking over me then actually hung up on me. I called her back and told her to never hang up on a customer and she tried to tell me she didn't hang up on me--yeah right! You're Hayward Location at 22290 Hathaway Ave in Hayward, CA 94541 has basically hit and run my car. The UPS Driver named Tony Lewis, hit my driver's side mirror and broke it on Thurs 10/29/2020. I have filed the claim with Liberty Mutual who uses Gallagher Bassett for their insurance claims and whenever I call Gallagher Bassett for an update, they keep telling me to contact back the UPS Store or Liberty Mutual. I have called the office countless times and spoke with both Managers Ron and Tom Kelly and both have not provided me an update on my claim. How can a large commercial truck and internationally known company such as UPS hit my car and break the side view mirror and have absolutely no updates or contact me back after 3 weeks? This is ridiculous and can you please have someone contact me about this? I doubt UPS wants anymore negative feedback about their trucks hitting residential parked cars and doing nothing about it. I have it all on video and pictures of the accident. This office is full of broken promises when I have done absolutely nothing wrong. Yes, mistakes happen, but having it taken care of in a timely manner is absolutely crucial to any business. This is ridiculous and absolutely illegal. Pretty much I put in the wrong address and had to get my packages delivered to the Hayward center. I want to give them a 5 stars, but their pickup times are really odd and there is not a lot of parking. I remembered I arrived at 7:30pm and they told me they do not open until 8:30pm and missed one of the pickup times as their window is from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. So I waited an hour and while I was waiting for an hour I played Pokemon. Anyways I picked up the package and it was smooth and the guy even put the stuff in the car for me. Pretty happy with my experience here. I had to get a cellphone delivered and it required a signature. I thought I could beat the delivery home, but unfortunately, they beat me. I didn't want them to attempt a re-delivery since the same thing would likely happen, so I called back to see what could be done. I wasn't sure there was flexibility, but the friendly customer service rep (very surprising) told me I could pick it up that night at the customer center near my home. Feeling relieved, I was told to expect a call back within an hour to confirm what time to come (apparently they have limited hours, as it's not a traditional service center, where you can ship items, etc. It's more of a warehouse). I didn't receive a call, sadly, so I called back to find out what was going on. Luckily, this must have updated my ticket, because a few mins later, someone from the customer center did call me to say I could come between 8:30-pm that night to get the item. I got home and a few hours later, the same person called me back to say that unfortunately the driver was not expected back (as the item was still on their truck) until 9:30pm, so I had to go back the next day between 3-7pm. I couldn't be too mad; I got two callbacks. Plus, my father was a delivery person for years for another agency, so I know how busy it can get. I confirmed multiple times I could come get it the next day and that it wouldn't be re-delivered. The next day, sure enough, I was able to get my item. The customer center is literally in a warehouse with a security guard at both the entrance and around the other side of the building. It's near the Costco Business Store. There's parking right in front of the door to enter. They really are only open from 3-7pm, and it's pickup only, no shipments out. Inside, there's two reps, one taking the pickup requests, and the other fetching the item. There's a computer inside and the packages at the front I assume, and nothing else. So very bare bones. But I was able to pick up quickly and efficiently, and was impressed by their solid customer service. Glad to know this option is available if I ever need to re-route a delivery. read more

Some of the drivers from this location in Hayward on Hathaway are beyond lazy. They lie and say they made an attempt to make a delivery when in fact no attempt was made at all. I have witnessed a driver passing by and said an attempt to deliver was made, after I got in my automobile and chased the driver down the street. They transferred my package from a facility that was 30 minutes drive to one that is 45 then pushed back my delivery for the 3rd time. UPS Hayway Freight location DOES NOT provide quality service at all! I was give a delivery date of Thurs, 7/23/2020. No delivery, no update. I called 7/24, someone will call you to schedule delivery, no call no update. Office closed Sat and Sun.I calleMonday morning 7/27,I was told the package was being loaded on the truck as we speak. I Called back early afternoon to verify delivery. I was told UPS gave the package to an outside company to deliver it. WHAT! Who did you give it to? The rep didn't know she gave me two different numbers to call. I called both to find out which one had my package. Finally I spoke with someone at AM-PM LOGISTICS. They told me the package would be delivered Tomorrow July 28. UPS dropped it off after they're trucks left 7/27. Fine. Now it 2pm July 28, I called to find out ETA for deliver today. It won't be delivered until July 29th. REALLY!! I was told today yesterday. Now I'm being told UPS didnt deliver the package until last night July 27th. THAT IS GOING ON?! I will be notifying Costco of the hurribe service UPS is providing and filling a complaint with UPS. This is absolutely unacceptable! UPS you need to get it together. read more

After about 30 min on hold, the UPS call center told me that my package was available for pick up at the Hathaway facility so I drove down. It wasn't there which honestly didn't surprise me since I just missed the truck (it pulled out of my court as I pulled in). Anyway, Eddie was really great - he wasn't abrupt or rude as some UPS front counter employees can be. He took my number and said he'd call when the truck did get back - and he did! Our packages were already up front waiting for me, so quick and easy in and out. The earlier wasted trip was not on the Hathaway folks at all. I asked if there were any sort of comment cards and another guy told me that a yelp review would be fine, so here it is. I am so disappointed in our local UPS Last week I had a package I ordered for my grandson. He needed it Sunday it was supposed to be delivered Thursday. When I checked the tracking they said you left off your apartment number s9 we could not deliver it. I live in a house. When I contacted them they said they would deliver the next day and added again the special instruction that I live in a house with a gate you must open . They did not deliver again. Finally the following Tuesday they delivered his shirt. Today I was waiting for a package I saw the driver parked across the street. I was hoping he was trying to find my address. I went over and he was talking on his phone. I asked him if he had a package for my address. He said I am trying to find it I don't have it and goir back in his truck he never came back out he just yelled out it must have been musrouted. We have a bunch of new people he never came back out of the truck so I went back in my house. I checked the tracking again later after waiting 2 more hours and they said they had attempted to deliver but unable to reach party. I am so angry. as i read the reviews it seems like someone needs to find out where our package is at. what's happening with the phones, laptops..mostly gadgets that never get to deliver. i bought an iphone 8 plus from tmobile and i was told it would get delivered on a friday, it did not. i was told to wait till monday... it did not.... i had to file report on a tuesday because apparently it's missing. i had to call tmobile to reorder and i had to pay another for them to give me a replacement and an overnight delivery, called ups at 330pm i was told someone will call me back and again like always nobody called. then i caleld at 530, i was told to wait till 7 because air cargo and ground deliver is different so i was told to call by 9pm coz thats the late delivery they do. nothing arrived. called at 9pm and i was told oh its really late and the driver has so much to deliver..nothing arrived... monday.. nothing.. i got my package from other companies but the phone, it never arrived... i called ups and i was told i would get it by 11-2 but it seems like nothing will come. i was told by ups that tmobile has to file a report regarding this second phone again.. so i have to wait... again..... i called the ups to find where is the package at so i can file a report at better business bureau because this is not normal. something is going on in this center. and ups should investigate on these kind of matter. i hope someone do something bout this... read more

I usually don't write reviews. I had a situation where i had put the wrong address on a package i was expecting, And i had called the store where i bought the item and they were saying they couldn't change it anymore. That i had to wait for a tracking number and change it from there . Made no sense since the item was being processed and they defiantly could had changed it there that time i called. So i once i got the email of the tracking number that's when i tried to change it on the UPS website and it kept saying that i couldn't. Even if i was signed up for their UPS My Choice. So i called the store one more time and they kept telling me that no they couldn't change it and that i had to contact UPS. So i called my local customer center and they also said they wish they can help me but that the store when they send out my package they selected a restriction on it . I started to get very frustrated because it was a simple change that i feel could have been fixed. Finally i called again to UPS and Brooke was so understanding of my situation that she called the store customer service line . She was able to get the store to fix the address for me !!! Horrible place. Hard to find with no signage or even a street number on the building. Pickup service only between 3pm and 8pm. Had trouble even finding the pickup counter because it was a small unmarked door on the side of the building that was opened up at 3pm. Never again. read more
