Had a package (approx. $1300 value) held for pickup, as I wasn't going to be home during the day. Received notification that it was ready for pickup. Drove (way out of my way) to go pick it up, and was told they "couldn't find it," and I would need to come back after 5 that day. Came back after 5. Still "can't find it." Ups lost a package of mine that they claim was first delivered nov 9 in this case they said they attempted a delivery 3 times in which my package doesn't NOT require a signature so not sure why they wouldn't just leave it . After talking to customer service and over 25 times calling this company EVERY person I talk to has a different story, I've never been so frustrated with a company before I'm not sure why this is my problem trying to track down my package i paid for and still paying for because the sender will not refund me until ups confirms they delivered it back to sender . The worst costumer service I ever had contact with nobody wants to help you , and basically said that it could take months to end the investigation process to end I don't think it's fair they I have to pay for something I never received . The best part of it all is that they sat and argued with me saying they delivered it but once I said I have a ring doorbell and will send them video footage of the time of 3 attempted delivers that never happened they changed there story saying it was delivered else where . I've never heard so many made up lies and story's because to me they are trying to avoided the situation. They don't document anything you say of the phone so you have repeat yourself 25 times to every person they keep transferring you to on the phone , it was almost a funny joke to them to keep transferring me to the same people back and fourth . read more

Tracking said today however they forgot it someplace. Customer services has no idea where it is. Can't deliver can't find it. Wait for Christmas and really see problems. I missed my delivery today and decided to pick up my package at this facility, as I needed the package a.s.a.p. I called to have them hold the package and I was told to come after 5:30 p.m. and I could pick the package up. I arrive to the facility at 5:40 p.m. and was told the package was on the truck and that the truck was here. Ok, fine. I can wait a few minutes. The driver of the truck was there and then left. I was told he was going to get the package. At 6:07 p.m. I asked what was going on, where is the driver, and when is my package coming since it had been 27 minutes? Mind you, I waited patiently in the lobby for 27 minutes, but the two ladies working behind the counter did not address me, apologize to me for an inexcusably long wait, or follow up with the driver who apparently disappeared into a vortex. At that time I asked the lady, where is my package and where is the driver? She said "I'm sorry, he said he was getting it." I asked can someone call as he's been gone for about 20 minutes. I guess his truck was parked on the southside of Chicago. One of the ladies called someone to finally follow up on my package - this was at 6:08 p.m. She told me the driver was bringing it. At 6:17 p.m. I was even more agitated and asked to speak to the supervisor. The one lady told me her supervisor it right there (as she nodded her head towards the lady next to her). So not only is the customer service lady not doing her job to assist an increasingly annoyed customer, the apparent "supervisor" is just as incompetent; it's the blind leading the blind. The supervisor asked the customer service lady to hand her the phone so she can text the driver - who at this point, I assume, took his lunch break. Right as she went to text him, he comes strolling in, no apology and no explanation as to why it took him nearly a half hour to complete a simple task. The customer service lady finally gave me my package and after 38 minutes, I was able to get on with my life. People make mistakes, I've made tons and that's fine. But it's when mistakes are made and the employees don't do their best to help, and are unapologetic during the process, that is when I get mad. Mad enough to write my first Yelp review. I had to have my driver's license renewed today (why I put myself through this much torture in one day is beyond me), but the DMV was, and I never thought I would say this, more efficient in this case. Congratulations UPS Customer Center in Addison. You're below the DMV in terms of customer experience. Something to not be proud of. I received horrible customer service from Ronda at the addison location. She was misinformed and condescending. The UPS 800 number and her story did not match up. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she claimed she was in charge. Then I asked to speak to her boss she was rude and said her boss was in a meeting then refused to give me a number to call back and proceeded to hang up on me. Very frustrated I will not be using UPS again. Not worth the free shipping thats for sure I would rather pay to have my packages handled correctly. read more

I dont even want to give one star!! I had a package get delayed in it's delivery date so I missed the week it actually came to my house. It was a COD so it was important I knew what time they were coming and never had an idea! The papers left on my door said they came at 12 but online it said 1pm. I then drove 45 min out to the Lombard location to pick up my package but I got there too early and my driver wasnt going to arrive until 8pm (they close at 7:30) so I asked the lady at the desk if she could have them attempt a delivery one last time as I would be home all day the next day and she called someone and said they could do it, but when I got home the website said they were shipping my package all the way back to the sender! I called ups this morning and they said that it was already out for redelivery. WHY WOULD YOU TELL ME SOMETHING THAT WASNT GOING TO HAPPEN?! I AM VERY VERY UPSET! Words of advice: don't believe anything the people at the desk tell you, the only way to know what's going on it to call the number on the website and press 0 and say talk to an agent. If the package weights over 10 pounds they won't carry it in and you will need to go in to pick it up. I watched from my window as the driver came to my door. He did not knock or ring the bell. He placed the note saying we are not in and to pick up the package at UPS. Basically, he was too lazy to carry the package to the door. read more

Regarding shipments coming from the Addison distribution center: Amazed to see on the tracking information that my temperature sensitive package (worth over $300) was shipped from CA on 2/24...... still not here 3/7.... and a supposed attempt was made at my business yesterday at 6:24 a.m. Really? 6:24 a.m. ? The business opens at 9 a.m. like most businesses. Have been waiting now for 13 minutes for them to answer my call... the recording saying that my approximate wait time is 15 minutes. If I could give this location and UPS zero stars I would. I was given a choice of delivery dates and 2 days later than the chosen delivery date the tracking system showed it in Addison for delivery by the end of business the next day (according to their tracking, it sat in Florida for 2 days). Since the end of business would be too late, I arranged to pick the package up the next morning at the Addison center. Everything was confirmed on their system that it was available for pick up in the morning. Nope. Not at customer pick up. (I wasn't the only person there with this issue either). Supposedly it was still down where the trucks were being loaded, but no one was really sure. If I could please wait it would be up in a few minutes. 30 minutes later nothing. Answer - someone is bringing it up. In the meantime instead of searching for my package, they thought it was more important to mop the floor, gossip, joke around, etc. After an hour that "someone" who was bringing it up showed up with the package and every other package that was supposed to be at "will call" for my neighborhood. (Sidenote - another woman who was waiting under similar circumstances had to go and meet a UPS driver somewhere along his route to get her package because they accidentally loaded it on a delivery truck! read more

It is amazing how incompetent the customer center is. For reason beyond my control I had to pick up my package, which was concerning since it was medication that needed to stay chill before use. I had a call from Thursday saying my package was at the desk. I arrived at 430 on Friday and Jean at the desk told me my package wasn't there but she'd call the people in the back to get it. After 30 minutes of waiting she comes to me and say my package isn't there, and that there's nothing she can do, except come back on Monday and hope it's there. I told her I have a phone call confirming it was there and wasn't going out. She then calls them to look again. After 10 minutes I got up and walked around, I was pissed and concerned, this is medication that I needed to take on Sunday. I then saw a white box in the room where they keep the packages, that looked like the box my medication always comes in. Sure enough that was my box, with my medication that I was told was not in the building. I honestly have never been madder in my life. The people here are useless and lazy. The only reason I can think she didn't see the box in the first place was, because the label wasn't facing out, and she'd have to physically move it to read the name and tracking number. If they say your package isn't there tell them to walk you into the closet, cause there to lazy to actually look. read more

Although it was not the easiest location to find, tucked all the way at the far end of the street, I found the personnel and place delightful. I had to return a large package that had arrived damaged. I had my own box and it was taped and sealed and weighed and measured before I arrived. The woman at the scales greeted me warmly and seemed happy to be doing what she was doing. She got me the right form to fill out, explained it very winsomely and offered me a pen. It took me 3 minutes to fill out the form and 1 minute later I was out the door. Other than finding the place, the whole experience could not have been easier or more pleasant. read more

I live on Chappel ct. I just witnessed a obese delivery guy get out UPS truck stick a UPS info notice on the main door and walk away never once ringing the buzzer. This is not the only time. I have came home without a notice on the door wait around for a delivery I am expecting and go to leave my residence and somehow a info notice has appeared yet my buzzer never buzzed. And yes my buzzer works. I pay for my packages to be delivered to me not for my leasing office do his job and distribute packages because he is too lazy to walk up some stairs and for me to have to take time out to walk to the leasing office and retrieve my package. read more

I have a package that has been delayed at the UPS Addison, IL site since Monday the 6th due to "adverse weather conditions". I have received packages through US mail that came out of VA and OH this week. When I called UPS to check on the package and explained to them that I had received other packages through the US mail I was told "that is a different company". That's my point. The US postal service did a better job of getting me my packages that UPS has. I am fed up with UPS. I can't even put a tracer on my package because it's not actually at the site, it's on a trailer somewhere waiting to be delivered I guess when the sun comes out again and it's 60 degrees. Oh, and by the way the website clearly states the packages "last location" was in Lexington, KY. But that is not true supposedly. I have been on the phone all day with different people. So I say, can I change the delivery and make it overnight? Nope. Again because it's on a trailer and not at an actual hub. So where is this mystery trailer? Don't know. Not a big fan of UPS and I work for a company that uses UPS to ship every day. Maybe it's time for a change. read more

I called customer service to arrange pick up service since I missed the first two delivery attempts. I was told to bring a government issue ID to this Addison IL location to get my package. I walk in and the lady working there asked for my ID and tracking number. I told her I didn't have the tracking number on me because no one mentioned needing it. She said that wasn't true. And I told her it was. And then I tried to tell her that customer service never mentioned it on the phone but she would not let me get a word in and kept talking over me. I eventually told her that I did not appreciate her aggressive attitude. It was very first time I have had to assert myself like that as a customer. Overall, it was an awful experience. I get a feeling I am not the only customer that this employee treats rudely. She says she has worked there 21 years, but with such an unprofessional demeanor I can't understand how. I don't know if I will ever use UPS again because in my opinion she represents this company and she has tainted my view. I understand she may just have been having a bad day, but I don't think so because she was speaking very friendly to her girlfriend hanging out in the lobby. read more
