The day that first went there I had no problems with the notarizations of the 3 documents, though I thought it was strange I had to place my address and my phone number where I was to sign. I had to have other documents notarized previously at the downtown Barrington store and did not have to do that. Because this a foreign document it needed to be apostilled at the Secretary of State office, a service that is done at the DMV in Lake Zurich. Just an FYI, the Hague Apostille Convention treaty, established on October 5, 1961, simplifies the process of legalizing documents for use in foreign countries by allowing a single apostille certificate to be accepted instead of multiple legalizations. The SOS office would not accept these documents stating that the notarization was done incorrectly, and that I had to go back to the notary and have him add in the "notarial paragraph". This wording states that the notary has witnessed the signing of the document, acknowledged signers, and their identity in a separate sworn statement and placed it in that document with their seal. When I requested for him to do so, he refused and then proceeded to tell me that I should write it in or type it up and he would then sign it. He proceeded to tell me that he did not do anything incorrectly and even when telling him that this was what was requestsed by the SOS office and showing him a document from the SOS as to how it should be requested, he again refused. He was very rude, wanted me to do something possibly illegal, and certainly did not want to help the situation. I am extremely disappointed in this location and UPS, as they absolutely have NO standards for notatizations. It seems clear that procedures for notarization in Illinois is NOT being adhered to, most likely because there has not been any training on this and the situation made worse by arrogance and ignorance on the part of the Notary. DO NOT USE this location for anything related to Notary services, as you will ultimately have to go elsewhere for things to be done correctly! Unfortunately, this subpar outfit charged me $20 for their services, which was of NO USE!

One call to AIT and Jan, who gave world wide amazing customer service took care of my issue. For 3 days we were dealing with this shipping issue. Jan resolved it in less than 20 minutes. She was professional, polite, patient, understanding and kind. In these days and times to even speak to a live person is a miracle. So I give even more stars to AIT for having such great staff. If we need shipping in the future this will be the company we call and so should you.

On June 16, I never received a notification regarding the scheduled arrival time on June 17--no phone call, text message, or email was sent. I had to follow up twice that day just to obtain the installation window so that I could coordinate someone to be present. After two phone calls I was given a window of 2-5pm the following day (June 17). My father arrived at my home on June 17 and was ready at 2:00 PM for the scheduled window. He waited the entire window -- and an additional 45 minutes -- before the technician finally arrived, nearly two hours late. By then, no one was available to meet the technician in person. I had to rearrange my own schedule and was late for a scheduled appointment with a client in order to coordinate with the technician over the phone just to ensure the hoop installation could proceed. This was a birthday gift for my son, whose birthday was on June 21, so I had little choice. However, this disruption directly affected me in terms of my job and my professionalism. When I returned home that evening, I found the new hoop left in the driveway and being rained on, even though my wife arrived home while the technician was still there and it could have been brought into the garage. I had to move it myself after a long day. I called to file a complaint on Wednesday, June 18 and requested a free haul-away service as compensation for the inconvenience and impact upon my job. I was told that only a manager could authorize that, and I would receive a call back. In the meantime, I PAID for the haul-away service of the old hoop as an add-on to my existing order, being told that it would be completed during the technician's return visit on Friday, June 20. On Friday morning (6/20), I moved the old hoop from my garage and back to the driveway. When I returned later that day, the new hoop had been installed but the old hoop was still there -- the haul-away had not occurred. Additionally, there were bits of trash and equipment strewn all over my lawn that I had to pick up. As of that point, I had still not received a return call from a manager. I had now paid for a service that was not rendered. On June 21, I called again to report the issue. I was told someone would return to complete the haul-away within 24-48 hours, and that I would receive notification beforehand. I also requested to be contacted by Jacque, the manager for the region, so that I could directly communicate about this ongoing issue. I received a voicemail from Jacque and called him back within 1 hour but received his voicemail whereby I left a message. I have since called two more times requesting an email from him but have, to date, not received one. As of today, July 1, the old hoop is STILL sitting in my lawn. Not only have I paid for a service that has not been rendered, but I also remain concerned about safety--my children are actively using the new hoop with the old one still behind it. If one of them is injured due to this negligence, I will have no hesitation in pursuing legal action.

I had attempted to handle the situation on the website and call customer service on my own but was not able to get direct help or information. I walked into this fedex because someone would have to talk to me. I asked if he could help me schedule the delivery for a time that I would be home or change it to pick up in store. The guy (wearing a plaid flannel so I assume he was the manager) handed me a business card, told me it would call the store directly and then he would transfer me to customer service where he assured me that someone would pick up (I had already sat on customer service for 20 minutes previously with no answer). THANKFULLY I stood in the store and let him listen to the hold music with me. After 10 minutes he assured me that someone would pick up. I told him "it's already been 10 minutes, how long do you like to be on hold?" he laughed, walked to computer, messed with the FedEx website same as I had, entered my tracking number same as I had, and told me that I would have to contact the sender to change the shipping instructions. I am mad because if he had taken 2 seconds to listen to my issue we would have both saved 30 minutes of hanging out in a FedEx. Thanks for nothing to that guy, I wish I had his name to list here. I would pay extra in shipping if it meant I could receive packages from anyone but FedEx.
