J8 Hot Pilates & Yoga - Hot Pilates Class!

I just hit my two-month mark at J8, and I'm genuinely so grateful that I found this place…read more I've tried so many different studios and workouts in the area, but the way I've fallen in love with J8 feels so different from anywhere else I've been. The community, the instructors, the professionalism, and especially the structure of the classes have all made such a huge difference for me. I regularly take the 8 PM Inferno classes with Aiko and Melanie and the 7:30 Pilates Sculpt with Sam, and I absolutely love them. The class is challenging (as it should be!), but the instructors and the community really push you, encourage you, and somehow get you through those moments when you're questioning why you signed up for this . I was honestly pretty nervous to start coming here, but I'm SO glad I did. I can genuinely say I look forward to coming to class with my friends. The studio itself is always clean, the owner is kind, and incredibly welcoming, and the playlists are always . You can really tell that there's so much thought and care put into the experience. Thanks j8!

I've been going to the Hot Sculpt class every Saturday at 8:30 AM and I really enjoy the classes!…read moreThey're challenging but so much fun. I did want to mention the music because personally, I haven't been loving it in some of the recent classes. I think music makes a big difference in how motivated I feel while working out. I'm more into throwbacks and R&B and personally would love a little less EDM. But that's just my preference! Saturday class was actually really good... I really liked the music and it made the workout way more enjoyable for me. I also tried adding some songs to the Spotify playlist but it wouldn't let me. It would be cool if members could request songs or maybe vote on what kind of music they want before class. I also think themed classes would be so fun! Like a 49ers Day, Pajama Day, different music themes, or even a Breast Cancer Awareness class next month. Little things like that could make the classes even more fun and bring everyone together. Just wanted to share a little feedback on the music and some ideas that I think could make the classes even better. I will always be back 8:30 am Saturdays!

(This review is only for the V3 location)…read more I can't believe I haven't written a review yet! I've been a member for over a year and had switched over from a different pilates studio. I was impressed with the reformer machines and everything was always so clean. What sold me was the 60 class deal. It was much more affordable than what I was paying at the other studio. I love having the flexibility to sign up for classes when I have time. I was even able to bring my hubby with me to class (text to arrange an extra booking) Bookings done on the MINDBODY app. I believe new classes get posted every 2 weeks. If a class is full, join the waitlist! There's a high chance you'll eventually get in! My favorite instructor is Kimi- she's clear with instructions, gently corrects our posture when we're a little off and challenges us. She also offers modifications depending on our comfort level. If you like extra spicy classes, definitely book Kylie's classes!! Vennu is more than just another pilates studio- they host fun events and the community is really welcoming. Follow them on Instagram for latest updates and special events!

I joined back in 2022 when I lived in San Bruno, and there was even a time when I was unemployed that I would come twice a day. This studio offers a huge variety of classes, and the instructors are truly the best - so passionate, knowledgeable, and motivating. I've also gotten to know the owner, Leila, and I have the utmost respect for her for creating such a welcoming, community-centered space. She's always open to feedback and is constantly looking for ways to elevate the experience and make sure members are really getting their money's worth. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to be challenged, build strength, and find a supportive community. With so many different class styles, there's truly something for everyone!

Little House is a fantastic pilates studio. First off, the environment is lovely - friendly,…read morewelcoming, calm and very well maintained. I feel myself getting a little less stressed and a little more centred simply walking through the door. But what really matters is quality of instruction and Sarah is an excellent teacher - thoughtful, observant, knowledgeable, encouraging - who puts together classes which are elegantly, intelligently sequenced to flow and build, while still taking rigorous care to address any issues or needs for each of the participants. The time flies by - because it's really fun, as well as productive - and I leave each session already looking forward to the next. Highly recommend!

Sarah was extremely knowledgeable, creative, and a very great educator. She was thorough in her explanations of the different moves and created modifications based on what my body was needing at the time and continued to provide modifications as my body grew stronger. Due to…read morevolume of ski training and crashes, I've developed arthritis in both knees, one torn left hip labrum, one torn right rotator cuff, and one knee surgery. This is finally the year I accept my ortho's advice (for the last 5 years) to move from high impact exercise to low impact. Pros of lagree: it's an excellent low impact workout routine. Spring resistance and time under tension is a different kind of training from what I was used to, but I felt my muscles were getting worked without impact on my joints. I no longer feel dull aches and pains post workout. More importantly, the time under tension workouts are intense enough to sometimes get the endorphins release like after heavy Olympic lifting sets. I was very surprised at first, this stuff isn't easy even for an experienced lifter. It works stuff that I've never worked on before. Cons of lagree: I feel like it doesn't train explosiveness. Not a criticism of lagree, it just isn't that kind of training. I do need that for my ski racing. This is where this studio shines relative to the lagree studios in the area. They have pull up bars, kettle bells (up to 40lbs), and wall balls. I've tried other studios and they only have reformer machines. I just do 10 minutes of explosive exercises with kettle bells and wall balls after the main workout, when I am already warmed up. It probably won't improve my explosiveness but I think it'll at least maintain it, and I can get it all done in an hour then move on to the rest of my day. I've only had one instructor called Lorene. She is excellent and meets the athlete where he or she is at. For someone relatively inexperienced she just tells them what to do. For someone with more experience she explains the intent of the movements and how we should feel so we can adjust and target correctly. That's the sign of a good instructor. Sometimes I am the only guy. Sometimes there are several guys. Nobody cares, everyone just wants to workout. If you are a guy don't let that deter you.
