I really wanted to like Pilates V -- the classes themselves were decent, and the instructors I met…read morewere kind. But unfortunately, the experience with their policy and customer support has been frustrating enough that I'm seriously reconsidering coming back. I've been dealing with a prolonged illness, and per their own policy, clients with symptoms are not allowed to attend class (which I fully respect). But when I reached out to explain my situation, I was only given a two-week extension -- no flexibility, no empathy, just a firm deadline. When I tried to use the remaining classes before expiration, I did not show up due to a worsening cough at the day of class-- again, trying to be responsible and follow their rules. I then received a late cancel/no show warning email, which said I'd normally be charged an extra $15 fee on top of the class I already paid for, just for being too sick to attend. Although the fee was waived this time, the tone of the message and the overall approach felt more like a punishment system than a client-centered one. The policy is confusing, rigid, and completely lacking in support for people dealing with health issues. It left me feeling discouraged and unwelcome -- not something I expect from a wellness studio.

They don't have a reception area so I was a little lost walking in but I just followed what everyone else was doing. The workout itself was fine. Compared to the classes I took in the past I didn't find the instructor to be helpful. When I got home I got an email about my bill from Pilates V which was a charge for grip socks which I did not purchase. I ended up reaching out to management for a refund. There was a couple back and forth with the emails where I had to reach out for updates. It did become a bit frustrating because I didn't talk to the instructor at all but was told that the instructor said it was me that purchased. In the end I received my refund which I was thankful for however I feel like this could have been solved in a more efficient way. I ended up not using the rest of the Groupon classes but it's a loss I would rather take than take more classes.

I have never in my life seen results like I got working with her. I have worked with other Pilates instructors and never got the attention or knowledge that I get from her. She is so aware, and so good at explaining, that I just get it. Someone else posted Veronique as a "guru" and I think that word fits perfectly!

I strolled over for a reformer class today and was lucky enough to get a private class (because the studio *just* opened about a week ago and the classes have not yet filled up). I doubt one will be able to draw on that kind of luck for long. Véronique is a skillful and thoughtful instructor, and it was a pleasure having her put me through my paces on the reformer. As for the studio (a sunny corner one block of Haight street that has been home to an Auntie Pasta [remember that place??], a web design firm, and most recently, an architectural office) it's been beautifully renovated. It's bright, clean, well organized, and all the equipment is brand-spanking new. Soulful Pilates gest 4 stars for awesomeness, and a one-star bonus for being so close to my house.

I feel myself getting a little less stressed and a little more centred simply walking through the door. But what really matters is quality of instruction and Sarah is an excellent teacher - thoughtful, observant, knowledgeable, encouraging - who puts together classes which are elegantly, intelligently sequenced to flow and build, while still taking rigorous care to address any issues or needs for each of the participants. The time flies by - because it's really fun, as well as productive - and I leave each session already looking forward to the next. Highly recommend!

Sarah was extremely knowledgeable, creative, and a very great educator. She was thorough in her explanations of the different moves and created modifications based on what my body was needing at the time and continued to provide modifications as my body grew stronger. Her classes flow seamlessly and progress in a way that is balanced. I always feel as though I'm getting a well rounded workout and Sarah has focused on the entire body. I always leave feeling as though I've had a great workout and moved my body in a way that is healthy and strong.

Highly recommend Mona, who I've taken a few classes with. She always has a killer workout in store for you, but is great about giving options for modifications/amplifications depending on where you're at physically. She's also great at helping you set intention for your workout and being mindful of your body. It's one of the few Lagree studios on the Peninsula - located in downtown Burlingame, so super convenient if you need to stop somewhere nearby. Street parking - easier to find a metered spot, but there are also some free spots if you have the time to look. They're on ClassPass for drop-ins, but have a lot of regular clients as well. The classes tend to be booked out about 2 weeks in advance, but people usually will drop so recommend waitlisting!

Having taken many lagree classes and solidcore classes as well as other fitness classes, I know what good cueing and coaching can be - and this instructor really lacked that. Literally night and day between all the other classes I've taken at other studios in terms of quality of instruction and energy. Instead of being motivating, she came across as irritated - each correction felt like we were really being scolded. Her descriptions of exercises weren't explained well at all, and she offered no encouragement. Usually at lagree studios, instructors will explain exercises with so many details that you could figure out the movements and know which muscles to think about in the exercises without looking up. Comments like "good." or "keep your hands by your sides" were said in a way that felt very dismissive and sharp rather than supportive. The vibe reminded me of a strict coach who's frustrated with you lol. This was disappointing because it was my mom and my sister's first time trying out lagree, and I wish their experience had been with someone more positive and patient. The studio space seems nice, but I'd definitely reccomend taking the beginner class with a different instructor if you're new.
