So very glad to have found GymClass. Supportive, friendly and committed to wellbeing. I always come out feeling better than when I went in.

I am not a fan of working out and have a history of starting then stopping exercising. If the gym or exercise class is too far or requires me to get in my car to drive there, I always end up making an excuse. I've only ever been consistent when I hired a personal trainer to come to my door to work out. When my trainer moved onto another career gig, I never bothered to look for a replacement. I relayed this information when I first met Shannon, the owner of Gym Class. A friend had told me about it a while back and I had reached a point where I knew I needed to start exercising. My only goal when I started was to create a routine where I would consistently show up. With Shannon's support, I not only showed up every morning for the 7am workout, but I definitely got stronger. Shannon and Gen (another coach) are really good at gently pushing you, helping to make modifications, and keep you entertained while you're getting through your workout. They are also excellent at taking feedback or trying new things which you can really only do in a small gym setting. Lastly, the thing I wasn't expecting at all was to meet some kick ass women in the gym class community who are also encouraging me to show up and reach my own goals. I literally came for the small group workout and have found a wonderful little network of women as an added bonus. read more

Gym Class is an amazing place to workout. Not only it has the best leadership (Shannon) guiding all of us, but her fitness knowledge is amazing. Besides that, Shannon makes you feel apart of the community immediately. I can't recommend Gym Class enough I have muscles in my arms and I never had them before. Love Gym Class! read more

Where has this place been all my life?? I've been doing bar, pilates, running for many years and now in my (ahem, advanced age) needed more strength training. I was considering a personal trainer with a gym membership, but this is an all-in-one solution that I can fit in before 7am. Also I've been having shoulder tweaks as a new pickleball player, and 2 weeks of these classes have somehow fixed that problem! Shannon knows when and how to push me with heavier weights without risking injury and ensures proper form without hovering over me. I wish I had learned about this place years ago! read more

I have been going to Gym Class for over a year. When I first started out, I was overweight, weak, had poor agility and poor balance. Shannon has helped me modify my workouts to allow me to work up to where I am today. I lost 80 lbs, and have much better strength, agility and balance. The gym set up has many options for how to accomplish the workouts for each day. The women working out along side of me are friendly and supportive, and I have enjoyed going. I would and have recommended this class to others. read more

Been at Gym Class for almost 3 years now and my love and appreciation for this community and gym has only grown more! I cannot recommend this gym (whether through an online or in-person membership) enough! Great for women of all levels and with all different types of goals. I have met some really inspiring women through this community and I love the support and cheer that is given by all to all! read more

I am so grateful BRSSD convinced Shannon to take 100+ teachers on in a 6 week long workout challenge. We thought we were signing up for a workout challenge and got so much more. During a time when we are all so isolated from each other Shannon found a way to connect us all through a little healthy competition. We were able to participate in workouts live via Zoom or we could watch recorded sessions at our convenience later in the day. I love that she offers both cardio and weights. Her workouts are fun, rigorous, and she always tells you how to modify if you need to. I have told everyone I know about her. She is super positive, super supportive, incredibly responsive, has tons of energy, she is local and she is crushing it! I cannot say enough great things about her! read more

There aren't a lot of things I like about exercise, but there are a lot of things I love about Shannon and GymClass. Shannon is such a spark of energy. You can't not be in a good mood with her, which makes my personal feelings of misery when exercising much easier to handle. Shannon is such a positive force for and to people, and she brings all those positive attributes into her gym. The community is authentic, supportive, and kind, and I think exercising in a space that is so inclusive feels great. In terms of credibility, Shannon's pretty well versed. She's constantly supporting her clients in their unique dietary and exercise needs, and I find her great at meeting people where they're at. She pushes you just enough to be outside your comfort zone. I don't see many trainers who can do this as gracefully and tactfully as Shannon does, and that's because of the focus of community and inclusivity that exists inside the gym space. Couldn't recommend this community, or this owner enough. read more

I am really happy I joined GymClass! Shannon was my coach during my 12 week journey. I really liked how well thought out the program was and the weekly online sessions brought a great deal of knowledge. Not only was this journey physical, it was also mental. I learned that a lot of it had to do with my thoughts and actions and how we look at food and working out. I truly believe that by learning how to make positive changes in all these areas, it leads to keeping the weight off and making smart choices from here on out. The gym itself has everything we need to execute each exercise successfully. The other members at the gym are a total delight. I got to meet a lot of wonderful women who are on the same journey as me. I highly, highly recommend GymClass! read more

I've been working with Shannon at Gym Class since Sept. 2019. Love the small group workouts that are challenging, but the women make it fun! The regular assessments show how great you are doing. The emphasis here is to have a great workout, have fun and support is always there. During the shelter in place, Shannon has been posting her workouts online and you can feel the energy come through! If not for these workouts (both cardio and strength), I would have gained so much weight! read more

GymClass rocks when you workout with Shannon! She has created a supportive gym for women of all shapes and sizes. I started with the 12 week program and learned about my eating habits and triggers. I am stronger! I continue to move up in the weight I can lift and the amount of reps I can do. I work out in person or online. It has helped my mood, waistline, and blood pressure. She changes up the workout so you never get bored. You might think you don't have time but each work out is about 45 minutes. If you miss the class it's posted online. There is a free online class every Saturday. Shannon can offer modifications for old injuries. She's positive and fun! . Come join us! read more

GymClass is a place that is unlike any I've ever encountered in my 20+ years of working out. The owner, Shannon, takes the time and energy to know and connect with each member and makes sure they are growing in their strength and enthusiasm for working out. The unique special sauce is the mindset shift that I have now that I am a member of this special community. The women not only build one another up but Shannon personally ensures that each person shifts their mindset from "I can't do that" to "look how much I can do!" This has been incredbily powerful for me both inside and outside the gym and I have never felt more confident in both what my body can accomplish and what I can attain as a working mom juggling young kids. I have realized the importance of carving out "me" time to be the best version of myself. I can not speak more highly of this community and the two years I have been priviledged to be a part of it. read more

I love this gym and community. Shannon has created a fun judgment-free zone where she pushes you to be your best self - while you have a blast doing it! She's great about ensuring you have the proper form (or modifications if needed) to prevent injury. She really knows her stuff. I have been going consistently for about 10 months, and can really see the progression in my strength and stamina. While her morning classes are women-focused, Shannon has recently opened up M/W/F 6pm coed classes. GymClass has been a great find for me after attending big box gyms... and then taking a long break. Now I look forward to my workouts instead of dreading them. I 100% credit Shannon and GymClass for this! read more

BootySchool is a blast! Shannon creates a wonderful community to get out there and have fun while getting a great dance workout in. BootySchool is for anyone and all levels! You'll be so delighted you committed to it! read more

I LOVE GymClass! Shannon is full of great energy and really knowledgable. I go 3x a week for the strength training circuit workouts, the vibe is always high, great music and moves that make me drip sweat. I've never been a huge group fitness person but the classes are so intimate that the energy from the other ladies really helps motivate you. If you've been on the fence about making a commitment to your health - GymClass is worth it! read more

Shannon's approach is very encouraging, practical, and FUN! She designs workouts for everyone...including the fairly out-of-shape 50+ year old busy working mom! Her workouts will make you sweat but you get little breaks in between each exercise! She uses 3-5 rounds with a variety of exercises to help you stay engaged and feel successful. Everything she does can be modified without any shame...only lots of positive comments and humor. I recently completed a 6-week challenge and have noticed more strength all over but especially my upper-body and abs. Also, I have noticed less aches and pains getting out of bed. I highly recommend Shannon DeChaine's GymClass! read more

Shannon is the absolute best. If you're like me and need some extra support, encouragement, and accountability as you settle into a new (or renewed) fitness and nutrition routine do yourself a big favor and invest in your personal health journey by connecting with Shannon. I love her lighthearted strong inspiring presence, her morning workouts (from home during this shelter in place) are super accessible, weekly meetings with her help to personalize and tweak the plan and goals we've made, and her clients are awesome to workout with. If you're not like me, still connect with Shannon she will meet you wherever you are and support your journey forwards. I can't really recommend her more highly, in 6 weeks I've shifted my relationship with my body and food and I'm feeling even more motivated to continue in this health journey. Thank you so much Shannon!!! read more
