Training with John was hands down the most challenging and transformative thing I've ever done. At first, I seriously doubted if I could handle how hard he pushed me. He didn't let me make excuses, didn't go easy on me, and always called me out when I wasn't giving 100%. I even argued with him at times, thinking he was being too unempathetic . I've been training with Tayo for 3 year and I can tell you he's the best coach you will find! I started noticing results within a few weeks of training with him, and I am currently in the best shape I have ever been. It's been almost 4 months since I began my journey at Fit SF. When I first started training with John, I was in the worst shape of my life. When we started I had never previously lifted a weight. In a short amount of time I am doing things that I never imagined I would be doing (especially after having multiple knee and shoulder surgeries). I just finished 36 sessions with Tayo at Fit SF and can honestly say it was great. The gym facility is great - good machines, all the weights and other equipment you might need, clean, and never too crowded. We recently moved and San Mateo is no longer convenient for us, but if that wasn't the case I would absolutely continue working with Tayo. He tailored my workout perfectly for me. I have a frozen shoulder but he modified exercises for me, and the mobility in my shoulder has increased significantly. He provided nutritional guidance as well. I feel healthier and stronger. I've been working with John for about two years now - pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, and post-delivery. This is by far the best and only gym I will go to. I decided to cancel my Crunch membership and just go to Fit SF for a much more effective workout w my trainer there. I've been working out with John a few times per week for over nine months now. He knows when to push and has made me so much stronger and leaner. Charles has changed my life! When we first started training together, we talked about my goals, and decided on a program centered around powerlifting and overall strength. I've done a bit of crossfit and boxing in the past which would get me fit in the short term, but I would always get derailed by injuries or I'd lose interest. I wanted something that would stick. Six months later... 1/ I'm having a blast and look forward to all of my workouts, including the ones I do on my own under Charles' program. 2/ I've been able to stay healthy while challenging myself. Charles will push you but also keeps you safe if he notices you're breaking form. 3/ My shoulder hasn't been this stable since before my labrum surgery over a decade ago. Baseball throwing velocity and shoulder durability have both improved. 4/ We're seeing great results. +23 lbs. of lean mass, -5 lbs. of fat, and counting Bonus: The FIT SF facility is amazing too. I do not know where to begin when it comes to training with John at FIT SF. Since making the decision to go with John, I have not once regretted it. I am not one to be coddled, closely monitored, and beat down with the science and position changes. I told him I know what it takes to lose the weight. I just need someone to meet me where I am, increase intensity as I become stronger and leaner, and be a general motivation to me when I am not in the studio. In just 6 weeks, I lost 29 lbs of fat mass while gaining 24 lbs of muscle mass at an overall 10% decrease in body fat. When I joined, I was dealing with postpartum back and groin pain along with diastasis recti. John is not one to babysit. I believe he knew my ailments would become a mental roadblock for me so he challenged me constantly. He knew what I was capable of before I knew what I was capable of. Some days, I even surprised him! I am now faster and more energetic. My overall quality of life has drastically improved. I thought my body was changed forever after having 2 kids within 2 years. been training with Tayo for several months. here's my review: pros: * extremely knowledgeable about health, fitness, and dieting and will create a plan that'll help you reach your goals most effectively. for me I had back pain from deadlifting improperly, so Tayo created a progression plan that focuses on back, abs, core, and deadlift variations, and now I'm deadlifting heavier than ever without any back pain * really knows how to push you, like even when you think you can't go heavier he'll push you to go heavier anyways and you'll move more weight than you ever thought possible. for example one of my goals since starting to lift was reaching a bodyweight bench, and now I'm past that and still progressing * will be able to set you up with a solid foundation of how to train effectively and safely. I'm much more confident in the gym now, numbers across all my lifts and accessory exercises have significantly increased, I'm leaner as well (down ~15 lbs-ish since starting training with Tayo) and I'm in the best shape I've ever been in my entire life cons: * sometimes difficult to pay attention when he explains things to me because I'm too distracted by his massive, incredibly well-toned biceps overall 10/10 would do split squats again read more

John runs a very nice gym. The facility is very clean and the equipment are all well-organized. It is a comfortable place to train. My initial consultation was with Tayo and we discussed my fitness goals. He was a Div.1 college athlete and has the background and knowledge about physical training. We set off on a workout plan for the first few weeks to get my body accustomed to the routine, then we moved on to different areas that I want to focus on. For instance I have very tight hips. Tayo makes sure that we dedicate time and exercises to loosen up the hip joints. Also what I like about working with Tayo is that he changes up the workouts so it remains interesting, and he always encourages you to push a little harder. So here's the deal. I never thought i'd amount to much, physically. Just hasn't been part of my life. Sure, I've made some attempts to trim down, shape up... and i'd get some results. But the effort never went further than that, and life would pull me in another direction. A few months later i'd be back to square 1 or -1. Recently, My lovely wife signed us up with FitSF... after doing some research for a physical trainer. Having had some experience in this domain she knew what to look for, and before I knew it... we were meeting up with John. We hit it off without much hesitation. John built me a fitness program that tackles my weaknesses head on and exploited my strengths. The program requires for me to be accountable outside of training sessions. If there's a phrase John likes to use on me is "You can't out-exercise a bad diet"... which is hugely unfortunate cause I do like to eat the good stuff. Over the course of our program, as progress is being made, new weaknesses have surfaced. Interestingly enough, we've concluded that a) i'm not invincible and b) stretching needs to be part of my daily routine. John has an incredible breadth of knowledge on how the body works mechanically(bone and muscles) as well as physiologically(the body ecosystem). I've learned more about myself(and the human body) in the short time that John has been training me, than I ever had in my 42 years. We set some aggressive goals, which requires a daily regimen... and progress has been, unbelievable, staggering, impressive and addicting.
