This is such a staple of Gainesville! Stopped by on a Saturday morning while in town for a game and ended up coming back later for more! The line may look intimidating but they get thru it fast and efficient! They are so friendly and made great recommendations! I had a ham and Gruyère rose heated up and it was so good! I went back and got three more, a goat cheese and tomato rose, and a Bavarian pretzel. There is nothing here that is bad! Their sweet pastries looked amazing too and I've had them in the past along with the coffee. Worth a visit whether you live in Gainesville or are passing through!

Upper Crust is such a cool little find! Great coffee (exactly what you want when you walk into a cozy neighborhood spot) and the sourdough bread is fantastic -- definitely grab a loaf to take home. Fresh, flavorful, and totally worth it. They also have really fun merch -- cute t-shirts and hats that actually make you want to rep the place. Love a café with personality and good swag! Overall, I really enjoyed my time there. Relaxed vibe, quality coffee, and delicious bread -- I'll absolutely be back.

It was my first visiting as I was craving a cinnamon roll. It does get busy so I recommend going early. Their staff was great and attentive. I got the cinnamon roll and iced caramel latte and it was absolutely delicious! I definitely would come back to try their other delicious pastries!

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking and a handful of outside tables for those opting to enjoy their pastries on site. Seems to attract a progressive clientele with many coming specifically for the cinnamon rolls. We went a little later in the morning so some items were sold out, but still a good selection. We did not opt for the cinnamon rolls - may have to give them a try next time. There's a limit to the number of people allowed in the shop at a time so there's a velvet rope where you may need to wait your turn. The gal who helped us was very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer 2 gluten-free items each day in addition to macarons. We tried the gf chocolate chocolate chip cookie w/sea salt, a peanut butter cookie, an apricot croissant and some macarons. The pb cookie was excellent!! Would definitely get that again. Although the apricot croissant was light, flaky and tasty, there was very little apricot inside. Was probably halfway through before getting a bite of apricot and it was just 1 small lump of fruit so was mostly croissant with a bite of apricot. Would not buy the gf double chocolate chip cookie again. Have to laugh b/c at our house, it's a joke that when you think you've added the chocolate chips to the batter, do it again b/c we need more. Well, I've officially been cured of this desire. This cookie literally felt like I was eating a bag of chocolate chips, with almost no cookie to it. It took death by chocolate to a whole new level. Can't comment on the macarons as we gave them to someone else. Would we return - sure! It's a cute place. Would be interested in trying some of their other options. Their cinnamon rolls obviously deserve a try and their breads looked fresh and tasty so perhaps next time.

Uppercrust is an absolute gem in Gainesville, and every visit feels like a special occasion. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries that instantly makes your mouth water. Their attention to quality is evident in every bite. From the crisp baguettes to the buttery croissants, each item is crafted to perfection. What sets Uppercrust apart is not just the delicious offerings but the inviting ambiance and exceptional service. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, ready to recommend their favorites or help you discover something new. The shop itself is charming, with a cozy, artisanal vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy your treats right there. I personally love their iced caramel latte & Tartlets. They ate both my go to but I've enjoyed also their croissants and quiches. I would love to come back and try one of their soups. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee and pastry or stocking up on fresh loaves for the week, Uppercrust never disappoints. It's the kind of place that turns simple moments into memorable ones. If you're in Gainesville and love top-notch baked goods, this is an absolute must-visit!

Uppercrust is a local bakery opened in 1981. The original owner has since sold to the new owner, who was recently featured on the Food Networks' Diners Drive-Ins and Dives program. During a recent day trip to Gainesville, my dining companion and I had to make it a point to stop at this bakery. The bakery is located in a strip shopping center so there is ample parking available. There are a few bistro tables and chairs located outside the store front. The shop interior has no tables and chairs. I think most people shop and take away. On the left side of the shop interior are a selection of coffees, jam, tea and other boxed and jarred products. If you look to the right, you can actually see the kitchen in full force. The shop has several large bakery cases. By the time we arrived on a late Saturday morning, the baked goods were already condensed down in the visually appealing cases. They offer cookies, mini cakes, mini pies, mini tartlets, several different types of croissants, breads, soup, quiche and coffee. Service was swift and there were several staff helping multiple customers at the same time, both with items from the bakery cases as well as serving coffee and ringing up purchases. Yes, it was difficult to make finite selections. My dining companion and I settled on a butter croissant, an almond croissant, two sugar cookies, a macron, a walnut croissant rose, a chocolate chip cookie and a snickerdoodle cookie. It took a few days to enjoy them all. We have been to many a bakery and I will admit Uppercrust may have the best sugar cookies we have ever enjoyed. The pretty marbled glaze clung to every bite and the cookie was sweet and moist. It is well worth a stop to Uppercrust!

The pastries here are always delicious and there are so many unique options to choose from! I had a coffee for the first time as well and it was very tasty. The ambiance inside is cute as they have a little store inside, but you can't stay in there long as it tends to get crowded and they have a limit to how many people can be inside at once. There is a good amount of seating outside though, and the service is pretty quick!

A Gainesville staple. Are you truly a Gainesville resident if you haven't stopped by Uppercrust? If you haven't, it's time for you to go. Uppercrust continues to craft delicious baked goods day after day and does it flawlessly. The pastries are delicious (even more so when it's fresh in the morning), and the employees are all sweet and helpful. The shop is super cute and there's a ton of trinkets inside that add to the vibes of the place. Definitely recommending coming as early as possible because they run out super fast!!

Best pastries in town! You must try the sugar cookies they are so good. Food is a little pricey but it is definitely worth it.

I keep coming back for their salmon salad with dill and cucumber. It's so fresh, flavorful, and honestly one of the best grab-and-go meals I've had. I always end up picking up a croissant box & something from their baked goods section. They're buttery, flaky perfection. The ambiance is warm and I always feel relaxed once I come in. Lighting is perfect because it makes you want to stay longer and they might be on to something there. I find myself taking my sweet time going from aisle to aisle with no rush. While I'm there, I like to explore their drink section, they always have something interesting, whether it's a unique juice, botanical soda, or a fancy iced tea I haven't seen before. They have a great range of high-quality products, and it's fun to venture off and splurge on 3-4 special items every few months. Not an everyday stop for me, but definitely one I look forward to when I want a little upgrade from my usual grocery run. To note, you must sign up for their rewards and you get a free slice of cake! The last slice I had for my birthday last year was delicious and I can't wait for this next time since my birth month is right around the corner.

While this place is like down the street from where I live, I had never actually been inside. Since it was busy, there was a tiny wait but nothing crazy. I told the woman what I needed and she quickly packaged up the cake. The taste was great! Now I will say I'm not used to Italian cheesecake, meaning I'm not used to there not being a crust but that's okay. I enjoyed it but more importantly the birthday girl was satisfied and that's all that matters. I do plan to go back to try other desserts and the deli .

You can sometimes get local meats and just about always get yard eggs. This past year, there has been a couple selling native plants for landscaping. Restrooms are available and are bare bones and clean enough. They have some garden cart wagons that you can use for towing small children around or like a shopping cart for carrying plants. Perhaps, it's to keep everything fresh... Otherwise, this is a very nice Indian grocery store that offers beautiful fresh produce, authentic Indian food brands and a good variety of products. I could just go down every aisle and fill up a basket...easily! If I were a student, this would be one of my favorite spots to pick up pre-packaged Indian entrees and prepared meals. It's a tad bit on the pricier side, but there's a great variety and most of the staples are imported from the East. They even carry Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa incense and body products here among other wonderful home & personal care items. I love that they offer spices in smaller packages for around $1 each just in case you don't need pounds of cardamom. However, they do offer bulkier amounts of all essential spices for Indian cuisine. A few of the items you will find here are cardamom (fresh and green!), cumin, clove, cassia bark and cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, mustard seeds, fenugreek, turmeric, garam masala, and a plethora of curries! Omg! And the RICE! They have a great selection of big bags of basmatis! My favorite part of the store is they have ready-to-eat spicy samosas and kachori. They were huge and only $1.25 each. You could reheat them in the microwave they provided in-store or save them to take home and either crisp them back up in the oven or refry. They are not made locally. The samosas did not come with any type of sauce and I was told that I would have to buy some if I wanted it, but either way - I would come back here for those again. They were really yummy! The greatest discoveries for me were the boxes of Girnar Instant Cardamom Chai Milk Tea and the Girnar Instant Masala Chai Milk Tea. Each box contains 10 sachets to make yourself a delightful beverage at home by just adding hot water. This milk tea was also offered hot, pre-made in-store, but you're going to pay $1.99 for a tiny little cup. Just buy the box of 10 ($5.99 each). There are more flavors...
