Definitely wear something warm, because they keep this place pretty cold by Florida standards. I probably would have been there longer had I not been freezing. Perhaps, it's to keep everything fresh... Otherwise, this is a very nice Indian grocery store that offers beautiful fresh produce, authentic Indian food brands and a good variety of products. I could just go down every aisle and fill up a basket...easily! If I were a student, this would be one of my favorite spots to pick up pre-packaged Indian entrees and prepared meals. It's a tad bit on the pricier side, but there's a great variety and most of the staples are imported from the East. They even carry Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa incense and body products here among other wonderful home & personal care items. I love that they offer spices in smaller packages for around $1 each just in case you don't need pounds of cardamom. However, they do offer bulkier amounts of all essential spices for Indian cuisine. A few of the items you will find here are cardamom (fresh and green!), cumin, clove, cassia bark and cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, mustard seeds, fenugreek, turmeric, garam masala, and a plethora of curries! Omg! And the RICE! They have a great selection of big bags of basmatis! My favorite part of the store is they have ready-to-eat spicy samosas and kachori. They were huge and only $1.25 each. You could reheat them in the microwave they provided in-store or save them to take home and either crisp them back up in the oven or refry. They are not made locally. The samosas did not come with any type of sauce and I was told that I would have to buy some if I wanted it, but either way - I would come back here for those again. They were really yummy! The greatest discoveries for me were the boxes of Girnar Instant Cardamom Chai Milk Tea and the Girnar Instant Masala Chai Milk Tea. Each box contains 10 sachets to make yourself a delightful beverage at home by just adding hot water. This little joint is so cute and filled with so many goodies. The diversity in Gainesville makes it so dear to my heart. There are so many exotic foods that you would only be able to find in this little Indian Bazaar. I'm not Indian, but as a latina I know how hard it can be to find food that reminds you of home! I loved coming here and exploring all the different Indian goodies. They have great prices on Indian spices and other Indian commodities. I bought honeycomb, aloe juice, chocolate barfi, paneer, and Indian cream cheese. Everything wzs delish. The cashier was an extremely sweet man!! I had trouble with my card working and he did it for me ahaha. He was so sweet. It was just my girl friend and I late at night and he made us feel so comfortable by asking if we needed anything else and helping us. Very nice establishment !! read more

Clean, stocked. Not-infrequently items closed to expiry dates R found. they don't take well When brought up. Women owner is rude, abrupt, arrogant N, sarcastic right off the Bat! Known them for years. Not my first encounter. Those R other's comments as well....They don't like bringing to their attention some packed snacks that R less than optimal. It's proper of them taking positive/Negative comments from Customers in good faith to succeed in business. Customers money is just Imp as their's. Whenever I am in town, I always stop by here for two things that I cannot live without. Kulfi and Tandoor brand vegetarian masala patties. Kulfi is Indian ice cream, and the traditional flavor has ground pistachio, cardamom, saffron, and other nuts. But they also have many other flavors- the mango is pretty good. It comes in pint or half gallon sizes, just like in a normal grocery store but it is pretty expensive. The Tandoor brand vegetarian masala patties are in the frozen food section and look like a box of veggie burgers that you would normally buy at the grocery. But, they taste like curry potato patties and are best served toasted on a bun with spicy mayo and a huge slice of tomato. Most of their frozen meals are a little pricey, but worth it when you are having a craving and cannot go out to eat. There is also a large selection of "Sweets" or Indian style candy desserts in the case next to the front window. Many of them taste the same and are made with milk powder, sugar, ground nuts, and spice- just in different colors and shapes. They are addictive, and made by a vendor in the Orlando area. read more

This is the best Indian market I've ever been to. It's clean, has a wide variety of spices and ingredients and the folks working there are super nice and helpful. If you are cooking Indian food you really should come to this market, whether it's standard raw spices like cadomom seeds, frozen garlic cubes or fresh ginger and peppers they've got what you need. read more

They have expanded and renovated, making the store even brighter, larger, and cleaner than before--and it's always been kept ship-shape, too. The selection of produce could be better, but on Indian canned/jarred goods, frozen food, and the like they're very very good. Their tea selection is ok but not ideal, but enough popular teas to pick from. Probably the highlight for me however is their selection of Indian sweets which is extensive and sometimes they have savory samosas that they make in the store for sale, as well. I'm also a fan of Indian pickles--mango, lemon, lime, many other varities--and they have plenty of these to select from, too. For a market the size of Gainesville, this grocery is quite impressive: I don't think we could expect a better Indian grocery for this size a city. read more

I was thrilled to discover this Indian supermarket in Gainesville. I found some delicious frozen samosa and frozen aloo paratha here that is super easy to make in the oven at home. Store is clean and bright and the staff has been helpful when I have shopped there. read more

This store has a very good variety of Indian foods. Spices in larger quantities, great selection of frozen foods and a nice selection of Indian breads. Staff was friendly, welcoming, informative, offered information on items I had questions about. I would like to see them work with their vendors to have "tasting days" and Indian cooking workshops where they advertise and offer free sample tastings say, Saturday mid day, so that others not familiar with Indain foods can experiance traditional Indian food. read more

We dropped by to get a few (6) bars of Dettol soap. To my knowledge this is the only place in the area that sells the stuff. The staff here do an impressive job keeping the shelves stocked with just about every middle eastern, Indian, East Asian and pacific islands food item you could want. Great frozen fish and meat selections with a very diverse vegetable/fruit section. The staff are very helpful, many times I've only had to show them a photo of what I was searching for and they would happily direct me to the right section and usually discuss various alternatives. It's an unnecessary level of customer service that keeps me going back. (A bit of useless information, they surprisingly clean restrooms.) read more

Great selection of spices and chutneys, curry pastes and simmer sauces, nuts, grains, lentils, etc. They have the full range of Patak, Deep and other good brands. I haven't bought much from the produce, refrigerated or frozen sections but they look good. I enjoy the imported things from GB - biscuits, chocolate, etc. The staff are very helpful and happy to answer questions and offer advice about Indian cooking. I tried Taste of India (off SW 13th Street) several times but the seals were broken on bottled products and the frozen food seemed to have been thawed and re-frozen (sloppy inside - as if frozen when the package was tipped over). The store is clean and smells like Indian spices. There are so many options to choose from ingredients and/or pre-made Indian dishes. There are multiple brands so you can see different types of the same product. They also have a few house made dishes- we bought Samosas, Jalebi and a vegetarian filled hand pie. It's overly priced store. You can buy fewer products cheaper from Walmart or Sams Club. Just be careful of the product with expired date before buying. They are not careful about that. Employees are quite friendly. Try the Ice creams, which are usually available only in India. read more

I had the veggie samosa which I was told was sweet and delicious. Spicy spicy spicy!! My mouth on fire for an hour was totally worth it. I love buying my paratas from them [they look sort of like flour tortillas ish, but taste different], because they're cheap, and have a lot of variety. This place could easily get 4 stars if it were not for their debit/credit policy. Purchases under 10$ have to be cash. So if you have a craving for samosa or some Indian pastry, make sure you take cash. read more

I love mom & pop shops. This place is by far the cleanest and best Indian supermarket that I've been to in town. Bae has some Indian inside so she told me what a lot of the foods were. We went in to try to get one of every brand of palak paneer (my favorite Indian food), but ended up with lots of fun stuff. There was a mom and daughter we made friends with too. India Bazaar has the spices you need to prepare excellent Indian cuisine. It's a small store but there are hundreds of selections. Best basmati rice (brown or white) buys in town and highest quality lentils. Go to the Indian buffet in the same shopping center and stock up on essentials at India Bazaar afterwards. read more

This place is incredibly clean and inviting. It's fascinating to have this well stocked little peek into another culture's traditions in cuisine, and man is it delicious! The fresh samosas at the front are spicy and delectable; the perfect snack if you're on the go and only a dollar each! They have a microwave so that you can eat them hot right there on the spot. The staff have been pretty friendly, and there is hardly ever a wait at the register. There is plenty to explore and try as they have a large freezer section with things to heat up at home. This Indian market certainly has everything for Indian cuisine. The store is clean and their store hours are good. I just wish they were friendlier, especially the woman who works the counter (yikes)! Earlier this year, they had a young man working there who was very friendly and cheerful but he hasn't been around lately.
