Amazing place if you know how to cook Asian food or are just curious to try. They have so many foods and things to try. They have soups with directions in English, so don't be scared to try something new! The produce section is huge, they have chopsticks, bowls, Asian spoons, dishes and tea pots too. You really have to come and check it out yourself. Walk slowly, read the labels, have a good time. It is very busy in the afternoon, so I suggest the mornings, if you can. Also, some products don't have English on them, but iPhones have (not sure about other cell phones) an easy translation method. Just take a picture of the text, highlight it, and choose "translate"! Enson Market has honestly become one of my favorite spots in Gainesville. The first time I went, I was just planning to browse, but I ended up staying way longer because there was so much to explore! I've been to Enson Supermarket in Orlando. It's quite huge there but honestly the smell is overpowering. This one is a smaller version, & unfortunately it is strong too when you first walk in. They have all the essentials for groceries here. Most of it appears Korean but then other Asian goods for Chinese and Vietnamese is what I did notice off hand. I also noticed a very small ice cream section. This Enson has a food court of about five food vendors. You order from the computer. I've taken a pic of the vendors. The seafood department is awful the quality of the fish and the customer service needs a whole lot of improving, I live ten minutes away and by the time I get home my fish is puffy and smelly if I try cleaning myself the fork just immediately burst the fish open , and I'm a fish cleaner, and if they clean them they do a terrible job half clean them scales on them I've tried the showcase as well as the special bin, they are never any good. I just give up and will just stick to purchasing produce, this fish had me sick for the Easter holiday couldn't participate in any activities produce. The workers in the meat and seafood aren't friendly and I frequent this store a lot. read more

I got rice and some entrees from the Chinese food section, and it was pretty good, though not the best Chinese food I've had. Enson Market has come a ways since it opened around a year ago. They now have something of a food hall set up with Tiger Sugar tea (and mochi donuts!), a hot food cafe with food to either eat there or take away, and now a poké bowl shop as well. They are even a Fotile Appliances dealer so you could in theory buy cooked food here, plus food TO cook, and even the stove to cook it on! They have also increased their selection of meat and seafood, really making a point it seems of having a good selection of fresh seafood especially. Some of the meat I've purchased here however has not been as fresh as would have been ideal and same with some produce. You really have to look at things closely. Also, produce gets mislabeled sometimes. I've seen mint or even bay leaves labeled as "Thai basil" in example more than once. The meat and seafood however seems a big draw and brings in a lot of non-Asian-American customers as well. On the downside, their selection of things like sauces and especially Chinese vinegars still needs improvement and they are hit or miss on frozen dumplings. Several other Asian markets in town actually outshine Enson in these departments despite being much smaller. The dishes and kitchenwares section could and should also be expanded for a store this size. The design of the store was a quick retrofit of the grocery that was here before, and a few things still don't quite make sense but overall clean and logical. Much cleaner and better than their older Orlando location, certainly. Korean food needs improving: fresh banchan would be great but while they improved on dumplings their kimchi and sauces selection is still wanting. Service is always good: when I've had a question or issue, they always do respond promptly and actually try to help. The store can be very busy on weekends, so I would plan accordingly and shop here weekday mornings when possible to avoid the rush and crowds. Gainesville is lucky to have Enson Market, to be sure, but it's not of the caliber of Orlando's excellent Lotte Plaza Market, either--not yet, anyways. read more

Since the Daehan Korean market closed in the adjacent plaza, it is assumed that Enson Market would provide the missing products. That is not the case so far. The only other Enson Market that I've visited is in Orlando on Colonial. But, the Orlando location has prepared food and a much larger assortment. This market is mostly Chinese imported products. There were only a few unique items, like some jelly health drinks, instant mala noodles, Singapore style pork/beef jerky, and some Japanese drinks. Other than that, nothing different than the other markets in Gainesville. The Gainesville Enson is only using about 70% of their space, as the deli and cafe are just used as storage. Home goods area is almost bare. Hope that the import issues clear up soon so this market can be fully stocked and prices re-ticketed. The self-checkout system did not work very well, so I went used the regular line. read more

Enson Market is open for business! And, although they haven't completely stocked their shelves and the prepared food counter isn't yet open it is totally worth the trip!! Their produce department is beautiful and has so many choices of fresh fruits and veggies (things that you may or may not be familiar with), the roomy aisles are well lit and packed with options of noodles, sauces, hot pot ingredients, dumplings, kimchi, tofu, fresh seafood, fresh meats, Asian snacks , beverages and so so much more. We have been here twice now, and am so impressed with the variety! The staff is more than happy to help you find something or even help you make a selection if you are overwhelmed. A few highlights of our shopping sprees were: fresh snow pea tips, crispy salted egg fish skin chips, many flavors of dumplings, and kimchi. I love Enson market! I've bought plenty of sauces/ pantry staples from here, lychee & other produce too. I always plan to buy meat but never go straight home after so I haven't been able to try it out yet. I will say their meats/ fish look incredible! I've never had a bad experience here. Recently I tried the Tiger tea shop inside too and am looking forward to trying the hot food! Also, their Soju options are awesome too! This is the best Asian market I was able to find in Gainesville. They have almost everything you need to create or recreate your favorite dishes. The location is within a shopping plaza and there's always room for parking (+1 star) When you walk in, you'll feel like you're walking into a grocery store. Not like those mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall types of stores. It's clean, inviting, and well-organized for any new visitor If you have a sensitive stiffer, I'd stay away from the mushroom aisle lol. (+1 star) The meat and seafood section has everything you can imagine along with every part of the animal. They offer both fresh and frozen options. A lovely asian market with asian food from almost every major country known for good food in Asia. Vegetables, noodles, appliances, frozen and fresh meats. Even a boba and hot pot in store restaurant. My reason for a 3 and not 5 star review is because I bought 2.5 lbs of smoked ham hocks that was literally just bones, fat and skin. Not even the good edible fat. I think the package was mislabeled and should instead be labeled "smoked pork skin and bones with fat" Thinking this was a steal of a deal since they were cheaper than Walmart and even looked to be locally smoked and packaged, the only problem is after using them to make collard greens there was not even one piece of meat attached to it. These ham hocks were literally just bone, skin and fat. Not even one PEA SIZED amount of meat, this is truly unforgivable. I made 5 servings of collards that are now just greens in pork fat This is very disappointing and I will never purchase ham hocks from Enson market again. I had to leave this review to warn others. If your ham hocks are simply for aromatics then this need not apply but as someone who loves to eat the meat from ham hocks, I am heartbroken at this gimmick from Enson. Feels like I bought a counterfeit item from the local china town in any big city. I got ripped off, bamboozled, jipped, shorted, finagled. the packing was done to make it seem like there was meat on the hocks. Idk who's back there packaging them but they should be more transparent with the presentation. Its no wonder it was cheaper than walmart. read more

While visiting in Gainesville, my sister told me about this really big new Asian market and I just knew I had to go. This store is huge! I was like a kid in a candy store. Asian cooking is my specialty and cooking is my therapy. So, this store was perfect for all my needs. They have so much fresh vegetables and exotic fruits. Fresh seafood that you can small once you walk in the door. I personally love the smell of fresh seafood Lol. There was so much to look at that I only got to see half of the store because everyone else was ready to go HaHa. There's also a small food area where you can order food. Even hibachi! I got a Mochi donut which was so GOOD! Kind of reminds me of a french crueler, which by the way are my favorite! There was all the Japanese snacks that I had been looking for in other Asian stores here in Jax and could never find them! I got some oyster flavored lays chips. They tasted just like oysters! So many different kinds of drinks. I did not get to look through the frozen area, but definitely will next time! The store is very clean and organized. Workers were all very helpful and kind. While you can tell that they're still in the process of setting up a little bit, it's a great market! The produce I picked up is fresh and clean and crisp, the freezer and snack selections are great, and the staff were quick and efficient. I couldn't tell if the self-checkout was up and running or not, but the staff-checkout was running so quickly that it didn't negatively impact my experience at ALL. Nice market! The layout is very easy to navigate and there's literally something for everyone. Great prices on goods and lots of fun things to try out if you're new to the cuisines offered.
