Chorizo and morning sausages from many countries in Central and South America....and more! That being said, if you try to speak Spanish to the cashier, she will mostly speak back to you in English. I worked up my nerve to ask about a product that wasn't on the shelf, and she responded in Spanish, but immediately reverted to English, as if she were offended by my Spanish. So, if you are learning Spanish, practicing here, maybe isn't your best option. Little does she know I am a polyglot, so maybe next time I will just speak in Portuguese. She could have been friendlier like she was with the other Hispanic customers, just sayin'.

Out of respect to my grands the other customers I allowed him to yell and scream at me, why he was so angry I didn't know. No one (employees) tried to defuse the situation . I experienced a racist situation and it's so sad that my grands had to experience this type behavior in a grocery store. After reading the reviews the reason no one intervened because they don't really care for African Americans it so true but I never noticed I just got my produce and leave but they never greet the customer but talk among themselves, which I thought was rude. I've been going about 5 years or more. But I'm done, I use to eat at Mia apa I stopped because they acted like it was a crime for African American to dine in, I have never ordered another meal from them that's been about ten years ago. Wow

Excuse me what happened to customer service first? If not for us you wouldn't have a job? Sad thing is it's been like this for years, I think you really need to train your people on customer service!!!!

Rotisserie chickens often not ready yet for the 5 o'clock rush hour. I bought Greenwise meat recently and though the outside was pink and fresh which sadly it covered older meat that was grey in the container. In the liquor store prices are often mislabled. I can go on. The solution is the Hillhopper Store. There I find capable friendly staff that don't lose my orders and try to dupe me on fresh meat, and have the sense to have rotisseried chickens ready between 5 and six when they are probably in most demand.

I love Russia and Russian food--in fact, I am involved in a lot of journalism and research…read moreregarding Russia, the post-Soviet sphere and related politics and business issues professionally. So the mere concept of Gainesville once again having a Russian grocery store was very exciting to me. However, while I admire their spirit, the store is very small and the inventory--at least for now--is rather limited. I worry that they won't make it because they have a much smaller inventory than the "Europe" grocery that occupied two local locations prior to apparently going under. While Russian Food--as this store is plainly named--has some non-Russian Slavic foods, it's mostly Russian. Moreover, it's lacking on some expected Eastern European goods like high-quality Hungarian paprika. Its strength is on Russian candies and other sweets and they have a good selection of Russian loose-leaf teas, too, though they were lacking a brand I really wanted. Still, they only opened I think a month or two ago and while their space is small, maybe they'll get more goods in soon. The tea and chocolate I bought was good, too: fresh, authentic, and tasty. I'll certainly go back.

There is a reason, well, several reasons that I can point directly at to explain the rise of Publix…read moreto the very definition of what a supermarket should and could be here in the southeastern United States. First, Publix has amazing customer service. You are continuously greeted by the employees as you walk through the supermarket. They also will address any question or concern you might have. Customer service is just one thing that sets Publix apart. Another thing is their weekly BOGO (buy one, get on free) deals. Every week they have a slew of great deals. We also cannot forget their subs, affectionately known as pub subs. These are great subs. One of my main go to subs their Italian. I also like their roast beef and cheese. My daughter, who is not a huge sandwich fan, even likes their chicken tenders subs. My son, who does like sandwiches, likes their Italian sub, as well. Kind of weird to realize that some of the best subs come from a supermarket, but Publix definitely delivers. Oh, another thing that I am a fan of is the Publix diet iced tea, available over by the deli section. The deli is also pretty impressive. You can get cakes and whatnot, but I really like their bread and they also have pizza dough do that you can make your own homemade pizza. All in all, Publix is a great supermarket and it is my go to supermarket. If you have been to Publix, I am sure you will understand. If you are not familiar with Publix supermarket, try them once and you will be a fan. Publix has come a long way since they began here in Florida. They have expanded throughout the southeast and continue to grow. As I said, I do recommend Publix, definitely the best supermarket around.
