I think I've found Gainesville's best bagel spot! So far, all I've heard has been rave reviews of Bagel Bakery. And it DEFINITELY lived up to the hype without a doubt. The Bagel Bakery offer a nice variety of bagels, along with other baked goods, sandwiches, wraps, coffees, and plenty of cream cheeses. Their bagels are made fresh throughout the morning. I would recommend going earlier in the day in order to have the best, freshest variety before they sell out. The workers are some of the nicest people. They are all super helpful and very friendly. When it came to ordering, they were extremely helpful and patient. Ordering is really easy and the staff does an amazing job handling customers. Service is just 10/10! The inside is welcoming and comfortable. With a decent amount of seating option, both inside and out, it is a great place to go with friends. I ended up ordering a toasted bacon-cheddar bagel with spinach & artichoke cream cheese. The bagel was phenomenal, I have absolutely no complaints. Super soft and fresh, the texture was wonderful. I wouldn't consider this a New York styled bagel, but it was still better than any of the other bagels I've had in Gainesville. The bagel had real bacon on it, which made all the difference in the bacon flavor. The cheddar was sharp, but not overpowering. The spinach-artichoke cream cheese was like nothing I'd had before. With actual pieces of artichokes in it, it was perfection. The texture of the cream cheese was also nice. Not too thick, but necessary whipped, I thoroughly enjoyed it! While I was checking out their cookies caught my eye and I added a chocolate chip one to my order. The cashier offered me a free day old cookie from the previous that they couldn't sell. This was very generous and appreciated! The chocolate cookies were very good. I appreciated the different chunks of chocolate in the cookie. The base of the cookie had a good buttery, brown sugar taste...delicious! The free, day-old cookie obviously wasn't as fresh as the ladder, but still good nonetheless. The cookies were so satisfying I actually came back to order another one. I ordered the lemon blueberry one and the cashier, once again, offered me another free cookie. The lemon-blueberry cookie was also amazing. Buttery, with a tangy lemon flavor, the cookie was really moist. The other free cookie I got was a caramel chip one. This was more of a crunchy cookie with chunks of caramelized caramel pieces and white chocolate chips. You really can't go wrong with any of the baked good here. I do appreciate the fact that they prioritize selling fresh baked goods each day! Overall, I was blown away with the Bagel Bakery. Honestly I'm kicking myself because I haven't come here sooner. The bagels are extremely fresh, with a great variety, and the perfect texture. The cream cheeses are great as well and have a nice consistency. Everything had so much flavor here. I think that is proof they use good ingredients and take pride in their craft. All the cookies I tried were amazing and shouldn't be missed either. The service is above and beyond. Really made the whole experience even better. This place feels like a local place and they treat their customers so well. Next time I come I will have to try more of their bagels (obviously), but also try some of their other baked goods too! It is safe to say I will be returning. I went during the breakfast rush and there was a line, but it moved pretty fast. I like that it's locally owned, and the menu has a ton of bagel and cream cheese options, plus sandwiches and coffee. I got an everything bagel with spinach and artichoke cream cheese. The bagel was warm, chewy, and really good, but pretty salty, which overpowered the cream cheese. I've always loved Bagel Bakery and still think their bagels are phenomenal, fresh, chewy, and absolutely crave-worthy. If I were rating just the bagels, it'd be five stars all day. But unfortunately, the other menu items really missed the mark for me this time. I tried the Earthy Turkey wrap, and it was honestly disappointing, barely any turkey, just a bunch of lettuce and alfalfa, and it was wrapped in a way that felt more like an afterthought than a meal. I also grabbed an egg and cheese croissant, and... it looked like it had been run over. Definitely not worth the $6. The one highlight (aside from the bagels) was the large pistachio muffin,super moist, flavorful, and honestly the only non-bagel item I actually enjoyed. It's kind of sad because I used to love this place so much more. As far as service , the people working here look so out of it and maybe it was just this morning but they weren't as friendly as they used to be. It's like they don't like to work there or are stressed .. I don't know but it just felt like I had to go find someone to help me that if I wasn't as hungry I would've just left to go somewhere else. We moved to Gainesville a few months ago. Needed to find a pizza place and a BBQ place etc. Happy to say Bagel place BIG CHECK! I got a dozen to go 3 times so far and today my wife and I sat down.. It's a very clean and simple decor. Staff was helpful and just plain nice. I got a bagel egg bacon and cheese sandwhich which I enjoyed. Also had a cup of Hazelnut coffee and my wife enjoyed Honey Lavender latte with oat milk and a large chocolate chocolate chip muffin. We ordered two bagels to share, and for the sweet one I thought we were ordering Nutella cream cheese, as it was listed under the cream cheese flavors, but it was actually just plain Nutella slathered on a bagel which was way too sweet. New to the Gainesville area and stumbled upon this spot while stopping at USPS. It's so cute! Decor is very homey and welcoming. First stop I got the Pizza bagel on garlic, my gf got a focaccia on spinach I believe, and we split a lemon poppy seed muffin. Overall very yummy, a little up there in price but so is everything these days unfortunately. Stopped there again this morning I got a turkey bacon on garlic again, my gf got the vegetarian on sesame, and we split an apple cinnamon muffin. Omg that muffin was to die for, super moist! I liked it more than the lemon. No shade to the lemon I'm just used to really artificial lemon I think, it tasted homemade which isn't a bad thing! This bagel shop is located in a shopping plaza with a Publix supermarket as its anchor store. Foe whatever reason, while there are a lot of parking spots, they fill up quite quickly. It is a very busy shopping plaza and the amount of cars in the parking lot certainly reflects it. The inside is pleasant enough, it is bright and inviting. The staff is friendly and professional. They have a decent selection of bagels. I will say that I feel the price is a bit too high (okay, maybe more than a bit), but it is what it is. Also, there is really nothing special about their food products and honestly no establishment should consider a microwave as their primary cooking device.
