The seitan really surprised me with the texture and taste, and the sandwich was packed with so much flavor. It was way more filling than I expected. They make their own sourdough in-house, and it really takes the sandwich to another level. I also tried the peach basil hand pie (not pictured), which was a first for me because I'm not usually a sweets or pastry person. It was too cute to pass up, and I'm so glad I tried it. The filling-to-pastry ratio was perfect, not too sweet with a nice glazed crust on the outside. I didn't get much basil flavor, but overall it was still really good. I heard they switch up the flavors often, so if you see the peach basil one, grab it before it's gone. The staff was really friendly this time around. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and I loved the small-town feel of the bakery. I can't wait to come back and try more. 9/10.

Fun coffee shop in the heart of downtown Buffalo, definitely worth a visit…read more I was staying at Hotel Lafayette for a couple of nights and right before I checked out I decided to swing by to grab a coffee. While you can enter from the street, it's also connected from inside the hotel, which is honestly how it caught my attention. The space is actually pretty big, bigger than I expected. It's open, colorful, there's a ton of natural light, cool murals all over the walls, luscious greenery, and a variety of seating options. The counter where you order is nice and open, with a big menu, and a sheet of glass between the customers and what I quickly came to know is their staple item, the cruller - a donut-like pastry that's super airy on the inside with a delicious icing glaze on the outside. Along with my oat milk latte, I had to try one... ok two. I got a seasonal Pride one and I can't remember the other one. Both were dreamy and it was easy to see why they are so popular. If I lived in the area this spot would totally be a go-to for working out of when I want to switch up my scenery.

This worker-ownerd cooperstive coffee shop has a flat top grill and serves French toast, pancakes,…read moreavocado toast and other items. They have oat milk and cow milk, coffee, tea, cacao, and espresso drinks. Place has a healthy vibe, doesn't serve meat, and promotes wellness. They have tempeh bacon, some vegan, and mostly vegetarian items. I ordered a large oatmilk latte to go. The cashier asked if I wanted it hot or iced and I said, "hot". When they put a small, iced latte in a glass mug on the counter, I assumed it was for one of the other customers. It went unclaimed, more drinks went by, and when the people behind me in line collected their drinks, I finally told the barrista I ordered a large, hot, oat milk latte. They then made me a small hot oat milk latte but I had been there so long it wasn't worth correcting them again. It wasn't the barrista's fault- despite what I ordered, my email reciept shows the cashier rang it up as a medium iced latte. The drink itself was good and I didn't see anyone else having these problems, so I feel bad giving a 1 or 2 star review. But, it was so hot and muggy in there at 10am - no AC and at least 10 degrees warmer than outside, and much more humid. Sign outside said they open at 8am but at 10am they were sweeping and giving off "we just opened" vibes. Oatmilk was a $1.40 upcharge on the medium size. Types of milk and milk upcharges were not listed anywhere. I had never seen this place before, it wasn't on Yelp, and they had stuff piled in the corners, so I figured it was pretty new and planned to give them a, "looks like they're still figuring things out" type of review. Turns out it has been open almost a year. Coffee is fair trade, so that's positive. I really wanted to like this place but between the order snafu, the mugginess, and the exorbitant oat milk upcharge which is not listed anywhere (and I've never seen more than 75 cents), not even being a worker owned cooperative was enough for me to bump this place up. If 3 stars equals, "A-OK", this place is just below that.

But I thought it was only a deli, with amazing take out burgers, yes I heard about the burgers. It wasnt until my good friend Zoe told me her good friend works there and I would love this place !! Might i say my friends know me well, lol. So NOW I know there is a deli BUT also a cafe!! A very cute cafe, with extremly pleasant staff and amazingly fresh and tasty fare. So yes I heard the about burger but the pork cutlet sounded absolutely delightful. Therefore, the waitress recommended we cut each it in half and my sister and I split them. Sounded great to us !! My sister started with the burger, when she took her first bite I literally watched the juice from burger drip from her mouth....no exaggeration!!! So wild !! My turn !! This burger was so good, not gonna lie i crave this burger!! Its easily my fave burger since Allen Burger Venture closed. Now the pork cutlet itself was bigger than the bun. The lemon caper mayo is light yet tangy I added a lil hot sauce. I forgot I was eating a pork chop. Another great sandwhich fresh, simple and just good. We paired them a lemon spritz and a Americano spirtz. Though I was late to party, you don't have to be!! Check them out!! There is small parking lot too.

We came in, ended up ordering takeout, as all seats were taken, and they do not take orders unless you have a seat. But take out was fine, gave me time to walk around and view the cafe and the butcher shop. It's a small venue but quaint. The staff was amazing! So friendly. We chatted up and they gave me a lot of information on their menu, and the wine dinners that they host. The food..amazing! We got the fired chicken sandwhich, which was absolutely delicious, need I say one of my top favorites! The chicken was crusted, fried and cooked to perfection, and I love pimento cheese, this was a slam dunk for me. We also tried the French dip, again just delicious. They change the menu quarterly. Also tried a side of the Spanish potato salad, again great! I'd compare this to the Spanish version of German potato salad. While I waited for the food I went over to the butcher shop, which was cool to see them actually butchering in one section. I bought some jalapeno and pepper jack sausages as well as some Merguez sausages which are beef and lamb sausages. Can't wait to try them. Then a tub of garlic bleu butter caught my eye and yes I snagged some of that as well!
