We bought a cherry laminate desk, with accessories, just before Thanksgiving. It was for my wife, who works at home and was getting frequent backaches from too much sitting. We set the desk up over a period of several days, and it's only now, over a week later, that we've been able to evaluate it after its been used. It's *GREAT* ! And, I have to thank Daniel who works at the Anderson Ln store, for all his help. I *strongly* recommend him. He was knowledgeable and really pleasant to work with, he made the experience fun. We bought the 30" x 60" desk, with 2 grommet holes, a wire accessory holder, the CPU holder, and circular desk drawer, the (I forget what they call it) keyboard tray that does not have a separate detached mouse holder (my wife likes to keep the mouse in the same position all the time) and the 4-position memory desk controller, plus metal spacer plates so that we could mount the crossbar that goes between the legs (we wanted that for long term stability) and, once you mount the crossbar, the spacers are necessary to give you full travel in and out of the keyboard tray (otherwise, it would hit the crossbar when attempting to put it fully underneath the desk top. Plus, we bought two single-monitor mounting arms. Daniel advised this, as the 2-monitor arm (i.e., a single fixture on which you can mount 2 monitors) would limit us as to the future size of monitors. With 2 single monitor arms, we would be free to get larger monitors, like 27" or above, and be able to space them where we wanted, on the desk. Lastly, we bought the rectangular gel mat for when my wife would stand. I can't say enough for how sturdy and well designed all the components are. I have a slight background in machining, and a much longer background in precision woodworking. I really appreciate when pieces of furniture and their metal components are (a) well designed and (b) well machined. The Uplift desk is both. The directions for assembly could have been more descriptive. I strongly recommend watching a selection of the videos on the human solution and/or Uplift desk websites. In the end, despite being momentarily confused a few times, everything went together just fine. And, as I said above, I was tremendously impressed with the quality and sturdiness of the components, plus with how well designed they were. Lastly, if you live in Austin, I strongly recommend going down to the store. We saved a ton of money by getting a desktop that had been returned because of a dent suffered in shipping. Fortunately, we have similar color kitchen cabinets, which came with repair materials, and it took us all of 3 minutes to repair the dent (and it was repaired so well that it is nearly invisible, even when searching for it). In addition to possibly picking up a scratch-and-dent bargain, going to the store allows you to see all the optional components and experiment with them, plus look at a variety of desk and accessory combinations. read more

Hi, I have had the Uplift standing desk for about two months. So far, I only have good things to report about it. If took me about 6 weeks to make the plunge. I checked every standing desk frame I could find online and narrowed it down to Uplift and Jarvis. The final reason I chose Uplift was because I can reach a live person on the phone which I did several times before making my purchase. Jarvis will not answer the phone. Virus or no virus, I want to be able to reach a live person , if needed, and not have to wait a day or two for an email response. I purchased the 2 leg frame, the memory controls and it came with a small version of wire management. I order a metal open casing from Oeveo.com to under mount my laptop, 1"x1" square 3m wire management w/zip ties from Amazon, flex cut 1/2" wire tubing from HD and under mount keyboard rails from Rockler wood. I'll post pictures of these items. I made a 66"x30"x1" desktop out of 3/4" & 1/4" birchwood plywood with birchwood veneer edging. Also a 3/4" birchwood keyboard tray . I finished it with dutch oil & wipe on poly. It was a fun project. I personally don't like mdf with lamenent. The Uplift order shipped my order 4 business days after placing my order. It shipped in 2 separate packages both arriving 1 day apart. The box with the legs is pretty heavy. The setup instructions were very good and the hardware packaging had easily read identification letters & #'s. It took me about 2 hours to build and another 1/2 hour for wire management. Operation- there's very little noise when moving. I am impressed with the speed when its moving up and down. I do stay seated for a second or two while its getting to the programmed height. I use two 27" monitors. My biggest concern when purchasing my standing desk was wobbling. When the desk is at my standing height,I'm 5' 10", there is basically no wobble left to right. There is minimal wobbling front to back. It does not interfere with my work when typing or mouse use. The desk overall is rock solid. If you have checked out the Uplift desk, you know about the 7 year warranty. I work 8 1/2 hours a day at my desk. The Uplift desk is a life safer for me. I am absolutely thrilled with my custom Uplift 950 (custom solid maple top L-shaped 3-leg sit-stand) desk that I bought from The Human Solution. My sales guy Pete was the best--immediately responsive, immensely patient, and never pushy. I think he actually tried to talk me out of the higher-end monitor arms I wanted. I know I was a difficult customer taking many months to finally make a decision on what I wanted and through what must have been close to a hundred emails, Pete was always quick to reply and gracious and helpful. I can't say enough good things about him. They made my desk and had it shipped quicker than their estimate. Everything arrived safely. Their stuff isn't cheap, but worth the money to me. I visited a comparable store in San Francisco and could tell from contrasting their products to the photos/videos on The Human Solution web site that THS sells top-notch product. The Uplift 950 is rock-solid. Everything is sleek and elegant. The instructions for setup were clear and accurate. I only have 2 minor nit-picks from my experience. (1) they forgot I ordered a desk drawer, so the pre-drilled location for the one leg wasn't right. I had to drill holes in a new location myself. No biggie, just cost me a little extra time during setup. (2) I'm a major type-A perfectionist and there are a couple minor things on the desktop that could have pushed them from an A to an A+. one of the pieces joined into the table top is a totally different grain pattern and color from the others and one piece has a thin 2'' strip of wood putty to fill a blemish. it's only noticeable because it affects the reflection of light from the window. Again, that's my perfectionism at work. overall it's a beautiful desktop and I am completely satisfied with it. again, a difference in A to A+. read more

It isn't often these days that you find an exclusively online retailer that provides a personalized sales experience. I was amazed when I called the Human Solution's customer service to help me configure a custom shape for my new UPLIFT Desk! My customer service rep Rachel was extremely knowledgeable and walked me through the process and all the necessary considerations for a new office remodeling project I had just started. I was concerned about placement and how the casters or standard leg footers would work on the new (and rather expensive) hardwood floors I was having installed. Rachel worked out a custom configuration that met all my requirements including a detailed dimensional drawing. Even though the product videos are very informative, I still had detailed questions about some the accessories; a dual monitor arm, advanced wire management kit, power grommets, UPLIFT stool, and the best ergonomic chair to go with my desk. All of them were answered to my complete satisfaction and I even received follow ups through email and phone. When the products arrived, I was quite impressed with quality and the care of the packaging (not a scratch or dent anywhere- perfect!). The desk was easy to assemble with two people and the black laminate with grey legs looks awesome in my remodeled office with the Mirage Peppermint 4 1/2" maple hardwood flooring! We moved offices and took the opportunity to replace our old traditional desks in the move. Several of our software engineers had just purchased cheaper desks from a different vendor less than a year before, so we kept those through the move. However, we needed 11 new standing desks for the folks that were still using the old stuff. The Human Solution was our answer. We received fantastic service from Ryan Osborne from the Quote to Final delivery. We are based in California so they came on a freight truck. It was a bit of pain moving all of that up to our 3rd floor office but that's not the freight companies fault or The Human Solution's fault. We purchased 11 total Uplift 900 desks, the keyboard trays, the accessory drawers, standing mats, power strips, and the portable cabinets for a pretty decent price. Compared to the other desks out there, the whole package was fairly reasonable. I tried to find these individual pieces from other companies and couldn't package it all together for less than the Human Solution could. Our techs and engineers LOVE the desks. They work great. They're comfortable. They're durable. They're very stable. And they look great to boot. The folks who first received standing desks from the other vendor can't stand their desks. They're wobbly, can't support keyboard trays, didn't include floor mats, and look cheaper than the desks we received from the Human Solution. The UpLift 900 is a fantastic desk. I remodeled my professional office to accomodate a TR1200 Lifespan Treadmill. I sit 8 hours a day and really felt I needed to get my body moving. I had a podium designed to match my desk and my treadmill fits under it. I save my input work and calls for part of the day and have used it for about 2-3 hours each day since I've gotten it. I walk about 1.2 to 1.5 mph and have averaged about 100 calories a mile at that rate. I am mentally exhausted when I get home and am not in the mood to go to the gym. I love that I don't even realize I am exercising, especially during lengthy conversations. I can type at this pace as well. The support received by everyone I have come into contact with is excellent. The phone is answered immediately and each individual seems to be using their treadmill and is happy to share their experience, without any feeling of pressure during the buying process. I haven't gotten to the users manual as of yet, but the online chat or phone line helps me address any issues immediately, especially as of late with Pete Arevalo. He is helping me adjust my mat and deals with me patiently and in a friendly manner. I feel this will make a difference in my life in so many ways. I am totally sold on The Human Solution desk I purchased. I felt that way about the way I was treated making my purchase, through delivery and now, six months later. I had my usual worries about ordering online; however, after endless days of research trying to narrow down best design, equipment and looks, my search kept coming back to The Human Solution. My requirement was generated around teleworking from home, simultaneously doing a masters program (lots of books and papers) and my doctor's advice that I needed to get off my butt more during the day. The ordering time to delivery was fantastic, even quicker than I anticipated. The Human Solution, by price comparison, with the accessories I purchased was a much better deal from an online order standpoint. Linda Sanchez has been hands down the most unbelievable Sales & Customer Service Specialist I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. And I mean EVER !!! I actually got to the point of feeling guilty with the amount of time and patience Linda provided to help me find. order, replace and do whatever else was necessary to get three of the Uplift table/frame products I purchased up and running. Over the past 35 years I have dealt with literally dozens if not hundreds of companies. And hundreds if not thousands of reps. To place orders, fix orders, return orders and anything else to do with ordering. Also all the tech support calls to fix hundreds of problems. I have found a few good people here and there but Linda was by far and away the best !!! On every question, on every email I sent her she actually took the time to read and understand the issue (don't think this happens that often now a days!). - she went out of her way to find out the correct answer and solution. - she always explained everything clearly and concisely. - proceeded with ordering the correct items with immediate dispatch. I was fortunate enough to be helped by Jose Escobar, and I couldn't be more impressed with the level of service I received.
