Ah Easter ... well we had no plans, which is never something to be happy about so it was take a family drive to see some art in Pennsylvania. Now, what ... we were hungry, and we wanted to feel the day was special and no, we did not want to pay the extra high Easter prices, so we looked and searched and discovered a very special place with lots of UP SIDE to it, the UPLAND DINER. The reviews were like a magnet, and it was on the way home so ... we walked into something good and satisfying from the very first step into this classic diner that is small enough to give special attention to each customer. We were looked after like family whether it was the woman who waited on us, the young lady who cleared the table at exactly the right moment or the others who checked in to see if all was well! HAPPY EASTER ... Their menu is a classic diner menu, which means it takes time to navigate through the options. The waitress said that some folks really like the liver and by my face she said, "I guess you don't want to try that." But, she said the salmon was excellent and made other helpful suggestions that led to our choices for our EASTER dinner. Ewwww who would ever think that liver is good. Being Easter, I couldn't help but notice how nicely decorated this diner is and how CLEAN it is. It is really clean and nicely decorated. Haunting on the one wall was a lovely chalk board touting their dessert selections. Mmm dessert ... yummy dessert ... oh I don't need dessert. My lobster bisque was silky and delicious (Ok, there were not huge chunks of lobster in the soup because ... lobster is rather expensive, but I didn't expect there to be any.). Satisfying and made me almost ready to ask for more. The others ordered a really great side salad with crisp lettuce, chilled plates and even swirls of beets to make the salad more than rushed casual overwhelmed diner fare. Our entrees all looked so inviting as they were placed before us. Our waitress had really pushed the scallop potatoes and they looked like eye candy on our plates (Neither of us had enjoyed scalloped potatoes in some time.). And, as is typical with diners ... there was plenty of food to be enjoyed. But ... alright this one is on me but since it involves the food that was served it is also on the kitchen. NEVER EVER EVER EVER order Brussels sprouts as your vegetable choice at a diner!!! Did I say NEVER EVER ... I did because I have never encountered nor witnessed a diner whose chef roasted those sprouts or creatively insured that they wouldn't be soggy little balls of green on the plate with little flavor enhancers. The Upland's Brussel sprouts while plentiful were a mushed heap of green and two out of the three of us made the mistake. So ... half star take away (it was our fault for even thinking of ordering them much less making the mistake but thank goodness those scalloped potatoes were flavorful and awesome and yummy that I almost ... but I didn't ... forget about the Brussels sprouts ... they deserve the Ewwww I gave the liver. Now as for the other half star lost in this review. Well, first the salmon special that one of the others chose was as she said DEEEE Lious! Perfectly prepared ... as was the other diner's turkey dinner, which she had been hungry for. As for mine ... the pork loin special stuffed with bacon in a pork gravy ... TASTY indeed ... but LUKE (not as in Skywalker) COLD not warm but still good tasting but boy oh boy it would have been so much better hot than LUKE COLD. And, no ... you may ask ... I didn't ask it to be returned to the kitchen. I was hungry. But, we weren't hungry after the dinner ... definitely not for one of those awesome sounding desserts on the board or that tiramisu ... oh tiramisu sounded so good and, on the way, out it looked so good in the dessert display case. Four stars ... and Upland is only 15 minutes from my home (Ok, I have to cross a toll bridge) so I am pretty sure we will be back but NO LIVER and NO BRUSSELS SPROUTS (I really should have known not to order them.).

I went to Upland diner with high expectations and we all know how that goes. It was morning so I got a cheesesteak and egg sandwich. They have a pick window. Order at the window and they will bring your food to your car. This was a fresh roll and I love it when I pick up a fresh roll. It was $12.29 after tax. As a cheesesteak with egg it was small. As an egg and cheesesteak sandwich I would have liked home fries. I didn't like the fried onions. It was a good sandwich and a very nice woman waited on me but it could have been better. Reese chocolate Chip pancakes caught my eye!!

Respectable breakfast food. I would come to this diner over Springfield diner for the food any day. Their hollandaise options hit the spot as well as the sticky bun toast. I tried the cream beef this time around with sour dough toast which was solid. The waitress was super nice too. She was the only one for the entire restaurant I believe.

Upland is a locally owned diner gem worth trying. Upland has The BEST New England clam chowder in any diner in the entire Delaware Valley. I know you're saying to yourself how can I make that outrageous claim. Well, I've probably tasted New England clam chowder in at least 50 places in the entire Delaware Valley and for the price,no other diner beats Upland Diner. It's the only one in these parts that makes it as a true old fashioned New England clam chowder. Including plentiful chunks of clams is a no-brainer but this place makes it the authentic New England Way with hunks of lean slab bacon, chopped smallish. The bacon gives it that hearty smoky flavor that clam chowder(Chowda) in New England typically tastes like. Then microscopically chopped celery onions and carrots. Yum! That's one of the keys for good clam chowder. The celery, onions and carrots have to be as I tiny as possible so they add flavor instead of competing with the clams, potato and broth. If you decide to stop by for anything make sure you try clam chowder. But this place is more than just that. It's a down-home diner serving all the diner stuff that we love. Burgers, entrées, some seafood,Comfort foods like meatloaf and turkey and fried chicken. They have all the pudding's and Jell-O's you could ask for and also ice cream. They also have a very tall glass case full of cakes and pies. I would say about 50% of their clientele are from the hospital across the street and the rest would be neighbors and old-timers who moved away from the neighborhood 30 years ago who come back for a reasonably priced good meal. It makes this place feel homey and special. I've never had a bad meal here in 10 years and my service is always been very good. Breakfast lovers: the Upland breakfast has a variety of items including eggs and it's cheap at $7.19 For the Hearty eaters there's a breakfast called the Big Man's which is a bigger version at $8.49. Today I had the turkey entrée which came with two sides of mashed potatoes and coleslaw and a soup and dessert for $10.49. Can you guess which soup I chose??? :-)

My wife, brother-in-law, and I stopped in to enjoy some breakfast. We received quick service, they were attentive, and I enjoyed the pancakes. They also have an area designated for deliveries, I have picked up doordash from them without any problems. Def add it to the list of places to go in the area.

I would say for an affordable meal you can't go wrong with Upland diner. 2 mins from my house so it's a go to for us. Will continue going as long as I'm living in the area, or they give me a reason to not come anymore haha.

This is one of the only diners around that my family enjoys. The food is good and so is the service. They also have some unique things on the menu such as the crazy fries. They are delicious!!

They have a HUGE menu that even my vegan friend had multiple options! I ended up with the hungry man'a breakfast which was so cheap for what they served! It's basically 2 meals for the price of 1! Their pancakes, sausage, and bacon were pretty standard which was fine with me because of how cheap it was! The house fries were a bit bland but add some salt and pepper and you'll be good to go! I also tried my friend's beets and they were good! The service there was great! Multiple people kept checking in with us to make sure we were served and happy! They're very nice and personable!

Service was slow. The waitress did not offer a desert that was part of the meal. Flavor was acceptable.

LIVERWURST special; can't miss those words on the special sign ewww ... must be Pennsylvania However the pleasant din of diners engaged in breakfast conversation reveal that you have found a winner! The breakfast menu offers options that would leave even the pickiest diner with a choice they'd make. As for me ... I had to ask 'is the corned beef hash made in the kitchen or canned? ' My 'to the point' classic diner waitress said 'of course we make it. ' We will see ... Ok, so it wasn't the best corned beef hash I have sampled, which is what cost the diner the one star. But, everything else was perfect!! The coffee was always there for a refill and the folks who were working at the diner seemed to be happy in their work. ** Before I could post the above review I decided to return for another breakfast with a friend. Absolutely wowed again!! The options were so impressive and the middle of the week specials bonuses!! But still ... that corned beef hash issue. Order anything else and you will be very very happy!! I know I will be crossing the Delaware in the future to again enjoy a really good breakfast at the Infinite!!

This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. Now I just need to plan out my flights so I can come get breakfast here again and try one of the sandwiches, or omelettes, or maybe get French toast again...

After an early morning drop-off at the airport, we ducked into Folcroft Diner for breakfast. More…read moretimes than not I order something non-breakfast-y for my first meal of the day. Today was no exception. Their grilled chicken sandwich was not what I hoped for. On the plus side, it was a generous portion of chicken, most of which I took home. As a negative -- at least for me -- I like a flat filet, with grill marks. This was "chunky," rendering it clumsy to eat. It simply didn't taste grilled at all. And the chicken was dry. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) I asked if Greek lemon soup is ever on the menu. She said that the owners are Turkish, then gave me a rundown of their specialties, all of which sound delish. (Alas, no avgolemono.) I wouldn't hesitate to return to Folcroft. The menu is diverse, the restaurant is clean -- as pointed out by another Yelper AND our waitress. If you order the right thing, you'll no doubt be pleased.
