I had a wonderful experience with Upkeep. The receptionist that greets and checks you in is so warm and friendly, the spa is incredibly clean and Naz is an expert at injectables! She takes her time to explain everything in detail, does not rush through your procedure, and makes sure to show you the progress as you go to make sure it's what you like. DO NOT recommend this place at all. I saw Cynthia for botox in my masseters as I struggle with TMJ/jaw pain. After two weeks, it became extremely difficult to move my mouth and my smile became crooked. I spoke with my friends sister who is a BSN/RN and owns a reputable injectables clinic - she confirmed this is NOT supposed to happen. The Botox was mistakenly injected into my risorius muscle, making it difficult to smile. It is now 4 weeks later and I still have trouble smiling, just in time for the Holidays. I went for a follow up appointment to see what could be done, and Upkeep refused to give me any of my money back. The advice I got was to "chew gum" - which is obviously not advised for people with TMJ and will just cause the botox to wear off faster. I do not see any difference in the strength of my masseters and am overall VERY upset with the service. Will NOT be returning and hopefully this review deters others as well. read more

I had read the reviews on this place of similar incidents happening but I assumed it was an exaggeration - now I have experienced it first hand and would like to warn others to be cautious of this place. I had scheduled an appointment as a first time client for dysport this week. I unfortunately came down with the flu this week and was febrile in bed, terribly sick. I called them multiple times at the first phone number I was provided only to continually reach a full mailbox. I was then placed on hold at another location for over 15 minutes, no one ever answered. And the 3rd NYC location phone number I left a voicemail to explaining the situation. In addition, I sent them an email explaining the situation, said I could provide medical documentation if needed, and that I would love to re-schedule as soon as I am no longer contagious/feeling well. This was all hours prior to my appointment. The next call I received from the location was after my appointment was cancelled and they had charged me $200. On top of that, I have truly never encountered such terrible customer service over the phone. I am a licensed healthcare provider myself, and would never in my wildest imagination speak to a client/patient the way they spoke to me over the phone. My one hope on the phone call was to have the $200 charge cancelled/my appt re-scheduled. The person I spoke to over the phone was extremely rude. She also said my only option would be to dispute the charge and provided me an email address to contact. Like others have mentioned on here, I received no email back until I escalated the issue and called many more times... I finally spoke with someone over the phone today to who said the charge would be refunded if I provided a letter from the hospital I work at stating I was absent because I went home with the flu. I provided that letter and then received an email back that they no longer will be refunding me after further consideration. I made further calls until someone answered and I have on record, that while Bridgette, the VP of Operations, thinks I made a "good choice by staying home," "having the flu does not count as an exception to their cancellation policy." She stated she has "healthcare experience" so she did say she was aware that getting the flu comes with an abrupt onset, however, that still does not waiver their cancellation policy. After stating that I would be disputing the charge and contacting the BBB she agreed that if I provide a positive flu test, they would reverse the charge "as an exception" to their policy. All that being said, there are way too many amazing med spas in the city to deal with this kind of non-sense. There is no way to predict getting sick and I find it preposterous that I have had to spend hours on end for this situation, still with no resolution. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was scheduled for an appointment and my mother became ill with COVID and was having difficulty breathing. I ended up having to rush her to the hospital. I called to cancel my appointment and explained the situation to the receptionist, she said okay and hung up. I was then charged 200 dollars for no showing. I called several times and they refused to call me back. Finally after having to message them on Instagram, they told me to email their customer service to which they said they will not give me a refund. Their response was: "For us to be successful we must have a client base that respects us as a business, respects our employee's time, and respects our clients who would have most likely wanted that appointment time." This response is enraging and extremely hypocritical. As clients we expect the same level of respect and empathy from an establishment we are spending a good deal of money at ( I had been multiple times for difference services before this). The only reason I missed my appointment because I unexpectedly had to bring my mother to the hospital. I was then given the owners email address and wrote to him explaining the situation to which I received no response. I asked for them to remove my credit card from their files because I will never be returning and the receptionist told me she was unable to do that. I had to call my bank and cancel my card. All in all this business is extremely unprofessional and I highly recommend avoiding. read more

My tear trough filler was placed in the mid region of my face instead of in my under eye area. It looks bulgy (creating a more prominent smile line) and made my under eyes looks worse then when I first came due to improper placement. There's not reason the filler should be as low as it is. I came here for a microneedling facial looking to clear up my acne scars. thank god they were having a 50% off special because i would have been pissed to pay $200 for the service i got. I chose this facial because i'm looking to treat acne scars. the "esthetician" only cleaned my face with alcohol, numbed it, did an extraction of the one big zit i woke up with (painful and it did leave a scar, i figured with the micro needling pen she would just go around it). After the extraction she alcohol cleaned me again which removed the numbing cream sensation so i felt everything (felt like i was getting scratched really hard). She only cleaned me off with a paper towel and some mario badescu lotion which if you follow any skin care page, you know that's not great, and sent me on way way saying she'd see me in a month. nope. DO NOT GO THERE!!! I'm new to NYC from LA and finding a good filler place has been tough. This is not the place! I went to the West Village location to get my under eyes done it was fine. Not great, not horrible. I also wanted to get a touch up in a small dent I have in my nose and then put the rest of the syringe in my chin (I usually do this once a year with Voluma, no problem) but the nurse there said she doesn't touch noses. The front desk person called around to the other locations to see who could do this. After speaking to Iryna at the Upper East Side office and going back and forth on the phone with front desk she says she can do it and I booked an appointment. I live in Brooklyn and took an hour train to go to the Upper East Side just to sit in the chair for 5 minutes and be told that she can't do what I asked and tried to blame the "company policy". I walked out. The entire staff must be under 25, which is fine to be young but they are obviously uneducated or experienced and when dealing with medical issues having a trained staff is key. Also the front desk girl wasn't even wearing a mask, which should have been my first clue that this wasn't going to end well! The owner did call me and try to offer a free syringe due to the fact that my request is doable and rather simple but I wouldn't trust anyone in that office to wipe my face with a wet nap. Save your time, the deals on their social media sound good but it's a trap to get you in. Don't do it! read more

When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted properly and shortly after I was called in the by the nurse Neha. The nurse and I discussed a few different options, after explaining the different services and the cost I opted out of some of the services. I was very clear that I only wanted to do the Botox and the quick lip "can't spend a thousand dollars today" Well surprise surprise as I walk to the front to check out the young lady states my balance is $900 Excuse me!!!!! This spa is so nice and everyone is friendly, it's clean, cute, and affordable but my review is specifically for Taryn in the West Village location. She is SOOOOOOO friendly. I have done several microneedling treatments with her including RF and regular. Everytime she has been so lovely and keeps the conversation going so you get distracted from the pain. i've done microneedling other places but I feel like i've never been as comfortable or gotten results in a treatment as I have with her. Came here in July for 1 syringe of lip filler, previously had my lips done before so I knew what to expect. Showed the Nurse how I wanted them and to simply just give them more life again and enhance my Cupid's bow.. as soon as she was finished I was unhappy and she told me it was due to swelling. After about 2 weeks I came back because they were so awful and miss shaped I was mortified. They offered to remove some filler and fix it which I agreed too as was promised they would make them "perfect" about another week after they were so called fixed they looked even worse. It is now 4 months later and I'm so thankful for these masks because I am so self conscious of my mouth.. Being that I had filler once before I knew how they should look about 4 months after and they just are truly so awful and it is something I truly hate about my face now. Due to COVID and very hard times I can not afford to get them dissolved when that is all I want so bad. I am writing this to help someone in the future! I came here the other day for a "quick lip." As I saw they just opened up around the corner from me. This was my first time having anything done and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Everyone is so nice, environment is warm and welcoming. The rooms are kept sanitary and the chairs are SO comfortable. The treatment didn't take long at all and I was amazed by how well Lauren did! I have experienced minimal bruising and my lips look SO good, to the point I was in tears but how good they looked! I was always self conscious about my top lip being much smaller than my bottom but now they look SO AMAZING!! I highly recommend checking them out!
