I had high hopes for Uoni, especially with a name that suggested Asian-inspired flavors, but sadly, the experience fell far below expectations. I ordered the Ube drink with oat milk, which was $9, and what I got was a powdery-tasting mix of oat milk and ube powder, served in a cup more than half-filled with ice. There was barely any actual drink, and what little there was had a chalky texture with no depth of ube flavor. It felt overpriced for something that tasted mass-produced and artificial. The taro option appeared to be the same--powdered, not fresh, and lacked authenticity. As for the space, the vibe was okay but a bit run-down. It felt like a college-town hangout, not the cleanest, but the AC was strong, which was a saving grace on a hot day. There are plenty of seats, so it could be a good place to cool off and relax--just don't expect much from the drinks. Service was standard. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. The drink quality didn't justify the price, and there was no true Asian flavor experience despite the branding.

Back in Spokane and decided to give this place another shot since I was craving boba--but wow, the prices are insane. We got two drinks and it came out to almost $20. It's right next to a university too, so I'm not sure how they justify charging that much. The tea was just okay--not worth the price.

Tasty boba! I got the Brown Sugar Oat Milk Bar and it was delicious! They have great non-dairy and vegan options. We really wanted to buy some taiyaki but they were unavailable :(. Plenty of seating and cute vibe. Would come again.

I was really excited for this place to open today, given the beautiful drinks and taiyaki they posted on Instagram. The cafe is quite spacious and is located next to a few other businesses and Gonzaga University. There is a free parking lot next to it. Menu - A lot of options, but the words are small and hard to read. There are typos (tara vs taro, carmel vs caramel), missing things (25% sweetness is not an option but is when you ask the worker), and the specialties are not described (like what is Baby Bubbli?). Drinks are beautifully displayed on the screens and the cafe is fairly clean, however. They were also doing a buy 2 get 1 free specialty or milk tea drink. Service - VERY SLOW today. I waited 1 hour for the 3 drinks we ordered. They had run out of tapioca pearls and came to apologize and explain what happened after we waited for 15 minutes. They said that the pearls will be done in 20 minutes and offered us vouchers for a free drink the next time we came. However, they did not give us any proof of the vouchers... just took our first and last names down. They said the vouchers did not expire... but am a little skeptical whether they will hold their word. They also offered topping substitutes, but we decided to wait. So then, 20 more minutes passed (supposedly boba is done), and people who had ordered after us started to get their drinks with boba in it. Once I had waited for 1 hour, I asked them if they were making our 3 drinks. They had forgotten but served it to our table within 5 minutes. Drinks - I chose the Baby Bubbli, 25% sweet, less ice. It costs 7.25 and the worker described it as having egg pudding, boba, house milk tea, and a milk cap. When I got the drink, it did not have egg pudding or milk cap... It was just boba and milk tea. Pretty disappointed in the miscommunication. 25% was also still on the sweeter side, so either they had forgotten or I will just get 0% sweetness next time. My friends have also said their 100% is on the sweet side as well, whether it was their regular milk tea or other drinks. Boba is cooked well and I definitely got less ice which I appreciate. I will say that besides messing up my drink, that their specialty drinks are very beautiful. Taiyaki - Had the red (azuki) bean one, and it's pretty good. No complaints. They served it hot and gave them in boxes. There were actual azuki beans in it (instead of just paste), which I really like. Would recommend. They did not have taro taiyaki, but it was on their menu. I think having a sign saying it's not available or just not having it on the menu so there is better communication with the customers is preferred. I write all this in hopes that improvements can be made in the future. If this was an established boba place, I would have given Uoni 1 star... But I cut some slack given that it is their opening day "soft launch". My expectation for a "soft launch" was more than this... that there wasn't a 1-hour wait for 3 bobas, messed up orders, typos on their menu, etc. The workers I spoke to were all kind and seemed stressed with all the orders on opening day. I think the place would really benefit from better communication within the team, which could lead to better service and drinks made correctly, and to their customers. They have potential to have the best boba shop in Spokane (and I have tried a few of the others around here). I will write a new Yelp post when I redeem my voucher in a couple of months.... I hope my second experience will be better.

This boba is so good, but you need to wait good 20 minutes even if they don't have a lot of people there.

So happy to have a place to get Tayaki in town! I ordered one of each flavor and all were delicious. They were served warm, with a slight crisp on the edges and great texture throughout. I'd say my favorite was the classic red bean which has just the right balance of sweetness. The team there is very welcoming and friendly. And the atmosphere is lively. I can't want to come back to try their bubble teas!

Got their cocoa cookie milk tea and caramel cookie milk tea. The cocoa one tasted like low quality cocoa powder mixed with milk leaving a chalky taste in my mouth. The caramel cookie was better but did not taste like how it was described. There was no distinct flavor to emphasize the uniqueness of the drink. I also tried my friend's Kellie's strawberry milk bar drink and it was the most decent of the 3, however, it was on the sweeter side at 100% sweetness which I usually get at other boba places. I also saw a lot of powders and store bought syrups which made me hesitant to justify the cost of the drinks. Most items on the menu were too expensive for what you are getting. Considering it's location next to many colleges, pricing should be more affordable. Service on opening day was very slow and hectic, but that is expected. They were accommodating to provide discounts to make up for the delays. Ambience was ok. However, not much of a place to study at.

Nice chill little spot! Good customer service and lots of cool drinks! I got the crème brûlée brown sugar milk tea boba. Also got the taiyaki fish snacks filled with red bean and the other with Nutella! Super good and satisfying for desert! Give this place a try if your in town and want some boba!

We are on a family trip and somehow found this place and it was a great treat. I got the UBE Vietnamese coffee. Presentation is picture perfect and the taste was spot on! . I highly recommend stopping over. They have a large selection of drinks ranging from coffees to milk teas. Worth stopping in for a treat. Great customer service too!!

The food and drink taste different every time :( Just came back to Spokane for three days and I've been going there every day, ordering the same stuff. The first time was great. Second time taiyaki was undercooked, filling was still raw. Third time had the same issue w taiyaki, and they only filled up half of the drink I ordered and made the 50% sweetness way too sweet. I told them that the 50% was sweeter than 1st and 2nd time, and they made a 0% sweetness for me, which is still sweeter than the 1st and 2nd time. I ordered the drink without ice so I understand if they don't want to fill up the whole cup, but they filled it up the 1st and 2nd time. I wish they mention there's a change of policy when I ordered or have the option to add money to fill up the whole cup. Overall, the inconsistency is really disappointing. Still want to support zag graduate but the employees need more training.

The kind of place you don't rush through... you settle into. Took the barista's recommendation--and yeah... she nailed it. That Rose Garden Gesha? First inhale hit like strawberry shortcake--sweet, inviting, almost addictive. Then the sip... strawberry comes alive, and just when you think you've got it figured out, that papaya slides in on the finish smooth and effortless. That's a confident cup right there. And then the pairing stepped in... That raspberry scone didn't just sit on the plate--it played its role. The tartness sharpened the fruit in the coffee, the sweetness softened the edges... and together? Ridiculous. Every bite pulled you back to the cup. Every sip sent you back to the scone. That's not chance. That's intention. Between the coffee, the pairing, and the atmosphere, this was one of those moments you wish you had more time for... Because one round? Nah... this deserved two.

I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

This class is great because you also get a trip to the Kendall Yards Farmers Market where Jamie breaks down what's in season and an ideas for how to use various ingredients.
