I finally decided to start building my Model S Plaid for track days, and some spirited driving. This isn't the first high performance car I've built so I kind of know what to expect. there's going to be some bumps along the way especially with a new platform like the refreshed Model S Plaid which doesn't have a huge addressable market so the aftermarket parts are being developed by a handful of companies like unplugged performance. R&D is expensive and the platform like this you have to expect some minor adjustments needed. What you really need is a shop that has experts on staff and is willing to put in the work and do quality development for parts and that's what you get with unplugged performance. I can't wait to continue working on this project with the team here and see the results!! read more

During November of 2021, I was fortunate to take delivery of a brand new Tesla Model Y Long Range. I had heard about the Unplugged Performance from watching YouTube videos and checking out some online forums. I like the idea that they were located close to where Tesla built their vehicles in California and had been tuning the Tesla models suspensions, brakes for track racing and street mods. My model Y suspension was a little harsh and bumpy as well as the around the corner sway was a little unstable for my taste. I wanted to get a better ride with a softer suspension and well as better handling and a more sportier look. I talked to the guys over at Unplugged Performance on what was needed to get the results I wanted and they were able to hook me up with all the parts I needed. At the time I didn't know how popular their Coil Over Suspension kits were and quickly found out that they were greatly back ordered and wouldn't get my order for several months. Well fast forward to December of 2022 after ordering from them earlier in the year, I finally received the kit along with front and rear sway bars. They were able to connect me with a certified installer here in the Pacific Northwest over at 425-MotorSport in Kirkland, WA. After picking up my vehicle after the install and adjustments, I have to say I was very impressed with the look, feel, handling and performance of my now modified Y. The neat thing about this install is that it's all adjustable from the ride height to the stiffness of the ride to how it bends around curves and corners. So hats off to team Unplugged Performance and 425 Motor Sports for helping me really appreciate the way the vehicle rides now. Cheers, Ken Stanback read more

Just wanted to take a quick minute to shout out Adam at Unplugged Performance. He did a great job working with me on the purchase of their carbon fiber trunk spoiler for my MS. Excellent customer service, very responsive, always professional, personable and on a few occasions he talked me off the ledge during the 7 months that it took for the spoiler to come in. I was literally going to cancel after month 4 and 6, but thanks to Adam I'm now the proud owner of one badass spoiler. Thank you so much Adam. It was also great to meet him in person. Cool guy. Speaking of the spoiler Omg it's SICK!! Absolutely worth the wait and the quality is top notch. The price is a little steep but honestly after getting it I can see why. It's absolutely beautiful in person. For my car it was the cherry on the sundae. Whether you do or don't want your car to standout, I highly recommend giving them some strong consideration. If you're willing to wait a while then my recommendation is to go for it. You won't be disappointed!! read more

Got my alcantara headliner done from these guys a couple year ago and couldn't be happier! It's held up and definitely completes the whole interior of my car, instead of having that plastic headliner. I traveled from Vegas to get this done in Hawthorne. Just had the suspension in my Model Y upgraded and had the best possible experience with this Shop. Justin, in particular, was extremely responsive and provided the highest level of customer service from beginning to end. I must've asked him a thousand questions and he patiently answered each one. And when it came time to do the install, he communicated with me each step of the way. I have complete trust in these guys, which is not something that comes easy for me. Give them a shot! read more

I recently had the pleasure of having my second second upgrade for my Model 3 by Unplugged Performance and I could not be happier with the results. The team at Unplugged Performance were knowledgeable, professional, and courteous throughout the entire process. Kirk, Luke & Adam helped me to choose the right upgrades for my vehicle and future upgrades to consider on the vehicle to make sure everything is always in good working order. The new adjustable end links & lower control arm bushings paired with my already installed UP Coilovers, completely changed the ride and steering feel night & day. The fit and finish of the components are flawless and the attention to detail is second to none. Overall, I highly recommend Unplugged Performance to any Tesla owner looking to upgrade their vehicle. Their expertise, quality of work, and customer service are truly exceptional. read more

The 90s was a time when the tuner culture began and it was very prevalent when I was In high school until the early 2000s. Strangely enough I feel the scene is back for many of us who grew up in the 90s, especially those who own Teslas. I really wanted to lower my car and looked at various brands, however I felt Unplugged Performance had the best to offer in terms of the quality of the material, the various drops offered and how the business was located in the Los Angeles area. Because of the popularity of the springs, I recommend you order them as soon as you can because it will take about a month. I ordered the moderate springs which are 1.5 inches; in between the mild (1inch) and the low (2 inches). After my shipment arrived I decided to take their offer and get my springs installed at their garage in Hawthorne. The price is only $300 including tax! Also I highly recommend you install the springs over there because there have been cases where other mechanics have installed them wrong. A guy I met there dropped his car off with me this morning complaining about squeaky noise and they discovered that his springs were installed incorrectly. He has to pay for the labor to get it readjusted. My appointment was at 10am but came by at 9:30. I went inside, sat on a couch and just did work on my laptop. (Btw their free WiFi doesn't work). To my surprise they were done in 1.5 hours. They have 2 or 3 guys working on a car so it's very efficient. Great work and great job to the team at Unplugged. Thanks Jeff for your help as well. read more

Absolutely terrible experience dealing with these guys for an online order of a front spoiler, perhaps the worst of any online order I have placed on the last 10 years. I placed the order in the beginning of December. Received an email receipt immediately but a week went by and no shipment info was sent so I asked for ETA on shipping. Three days later I get an "I don't know, I need to talk to some people" answer. Then 8 days later I got a follow up email that said it would be shipping in 3 weeks. Well 4 weeks go by with zero follow up and no shipment, so I contact them again. I am told the spoiler is going through paint process. I wait another 2 weeks and still no shipment and no follow up, so I email again. This email went unanswered so sent another email 3 days later. 1 day after that they finally reply to say "I will follow up with our body shop". At this point a full 2 months have passed since the order was placed. Over the next week there are several back-and-forth emails, each time they say they are going to ask the body shop. Nothing changes. I give up and wait another two weeks and try to contact them again. At this point they start to move into slimy used car salesmen stuff. They tell me that they "want to discuss solutions" when the only solution is to ship the part. I'm not having any of it. I wait until a full 4 months have passed (when I was originally told 4-5 weeks) and requested a refund. Finally a manger steps in and writes a huge long fluff piece about how they're so sorry and try to convince me to keep the order. I ask for a refund again. They repeat with an even longer sorry, please keep the order type email. I ask for a refund again. Any time that you have to ask someone for a refund 4x, that should be a red flag right there. After my 4th email asking for a refund, they tried to say that they would only give a partial refund and charge me a 30% "restocking fee" (several hundred dollars for nothing). Wow, really? With a 4 month lead time on front spoilers, they can literally ship this part out to the next guy in line tomorrow morning. That customer would be happy for a faster delivery. They had no legit fees incurred and at this point I knew I was basically getting scammed. So finally last night I had enough. I called my bank and reported them and got a chargeback. Nothing these guys told me was true, nothing ever shipped, and they want a restocking fee for cancellations on orders that don't ship after 4 months of waiting. Buyer beware! read more

If you are a Tesla enthusiast like I am and want to take your EV to the next level that will perform better than stock, I recommend going to Unplugged Performance! They have some exceptional people working there from specialists to technicians. Over the last 5 months I've been transforming my Tesla Model 3 with as much performance products that I can get my hands on. So far, these are the upgrades that's I've made to my M3: · Coilover suspension kit · Adjustable front upper control arms · Camber kits · Adjustable sway bars (front and rear) · Enduro drive unit oil cooler and magnetic filter · Street and track race brake pad sets · Stainless steel sport brake line set After getting these upgrades 1 by 1, I was able to notice the difference right away; especially on the coilovers, sway bars, and brake pad sets. I've lowered my M3 1.5" all around and the coilovers makes my car feel better than stock and more fun to drive, especially on road trips. I highly recommend these guys. Raul at Unplugged Performance has been a great deal of help throughout much of the process with me. I look forward to upgrading other parts on my M3 next year with UP!! read more

I ordered sway bars and moderate lowering springs for my model 3 2021 long range. The sway bars came quick but when I asked about the springs, I had to email the sales team, shipping and one individual. I asked updates probably twice a week for a good month and half... I didn't feel like that wait was worth it but the email responses I got felt vaguely the same where shipping from probably the dock in LA was taking forever so it wasn't their fault. Time wasn't in my favor so I had to cancel the springs order but the sway bars got installed. Love the sway bars! read more

I had the suspension on my 2023 Tesla Model Y long range modified. I went with the luxury package to make the ride softer and this included new springs and shocks. The modification took the better part of one day as these people aim for perfection and total customer satisfaction. They are a pleasure to work with and did a wonderful job! I now have a much improved ride that at freeway speeds is amazingly stable but very comfortable and "non jarring". On our local San Diego streets (which are rutted and loaded with potholes) the ride is much smoother and more pleasant! These guys are awesome! They're professional yet friendly and you can tell they love Teslas. Kirk's been very responsive via email, text, and phone, and he's kept me up-to-date with respect to parts on order. He's given me good advice and he's been very helpful with sourcing parts and scheduling without trying to sell me anything I don't need. So far, I've had coilovers, sway bars, and rear camber arms installed at the shop in Hawthorne; they were ready for me on time and completed the work in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price. No install issues and the car handles much better now. Next up will be the enduro oil filters/coolers, plus I think I'll have them lower my ride height a little more. Very happy with Unplugged so far and I'm looking forward to seeing new products come out as they develop them. read more

Everyone I've worked with at Unplugged Performance (UP) has been super helpful and made my car better than it was when stock. They did a brake fluid flush, fitted the BFB carbon ceramic kit, brake lines, sway bars, control arms, coilovers, oil filters, and flugplatz wheels on 255/35/zr20 tires! My performance model 3 performed incredibly well at Buttonwillow Raceway going from a best time of 2:05.57 with stock parts to 1:57.67 with Unplugged parts! Worked with Eric on getting some lowering springs for my model y. Communication was great. Install went smoothly as well. Arrived on site and did a quick walk through of the car before they started the install. Took about 2-3 hours. Overall the springs are great. At first the ride was a bit stiffer and had some noises. But after a week or so of driving it, it's definitely settled in a bit. Ride is comfortable and soaks up the bumps in the road great. Quieted down as well. I recently made the dumb mistake of purchasing Front Upper Control Arms (FUCAS) that weren't Unplugged Performance. Not only was the quality of the part no where close to the stock piece it also didn't fit as well. I reached out to Blake at UP and he quickly got me set up, picked the part out of inventory, and had it sent to me within the same 24 hours. I have a 2019 Tesla model three that I love, but the ride was getting on my nerves as I felt every bump. I did a search for third-party suppliers to retrofit the suspension system and came across the luxury suspension by Unplugged Performance out of California. Although the reviews were good, I was on shaking ground as I had no benchmark. The installation went well and I am super pleased! Very happy with the customer service and product from Unplugged for their mild lowering springs on my model 3. Install took three hours but I got to test drive the car with the new springs with Jeff who was awesome and took the time to go over the details and how the ride handles with the new springs. Great product that made big difference in ride quality and aesthetics. Would definitely buy from again. Update: came back for the front lip, side skirts, rear spoiler and sway bars! Excellent personal service once again and handling is superb. Front lip fits very well with the side skirts, finish is better than expected. Sway bars immediate difference in the steering wheel and weight distribution is easily felt around corners, much more stable and firm even over bumps. Best part is the huge improvement in ride quality, the combination of the sway bars and the springs reduces the rebound without the need for more expensive coilovers. These guys know what their products do and have every bit of quality with a lifetime warranty. Happy to support them through the pandemic. read more

When I was first deciding whether to buy a model Y Performance or a Mustang one of the factors I was reading about was the suspension. There are only a couple places making a suspension replacement for the model Y. Unplugged is one of them. I was stoked to see they were in California. I wrote to them and Adam quickly responded, describing the luxury performance coils/suspension, the cost, and suggested I get on the waiting list. The youtube reviewers I found said it was a nice improvement, not shocking but worth it. Both of them had lowered the car. I told Adam that I wanted to drive the car for a few months first so I could appreciate the difference. He agreed and said the waiting list would be a couple months anyway. So, I got fully used to the feeling of the car, driving from Santa Barbara to San Diego regularly. Pretty bumpy but so fun (its surgically fast). Anyway, finally got the call for the part and appointment. Adam is super engaged and helpful, describing all options that they offer. I got a hotel room for the night before the replacement and dropped my car off that night. They got to work first thing in the morning and by the time I left my late checkout at 1, they were done! Super awesome shop, next door to spaceX. Clearly passionate and knowledgeable people, certified to work on Tesla (won't harm your warranty). I saw both people that test drove my car after the fix excited at its performance. So I paid the rest, shook hands with Adam and drove to San Diego. Dude. SO MUCH BETTER. Not a little bit. Allot. Really smooth. I had a few moments of glee just appreciating the difference. So much more of a luxury ride now. My recommendations: Don't hesitate. Make sure they install it (they make the part). Drive the car for a few months first so you can really enjoy the improvement. Don't lower the car if you want luxury. Just tell them that you want nothing less than the most luxurious smooth ride and they will tweak it to perfection. read more

Beyond pleased with my experience at Unplugged Performance! THEY CARE ABOUT WHAT THE ARE DOING. I started on a project with my model 3 (converting to a track car) a little bit early because I couldn't get my car repaired at the Tesla service center without a month wait... I know what a shocker. The team at UP was awesome and was able to replace the part with something much more sturdier than the original parts. UP also caught an issue that the Tesla service center completely missed. I had Tila's windows tinted and XPEL installed over the head lights and tail lights back in May and I finally have time to write them a well-deserved review! Max at UP was great and easy to work with (not sure if it's reciprocated haha). He and his team were very patient with my OCD and making sure everything was perfect! _what I got: Window tint: 3M Crystalline on ALL glass surfaces - windshield: 70% - barely noticeable - (4) side windows: 40% - rear in a SINGLE piece: 50% - overhead glass: 50% XPEL on headlights and tail lights only because I don't want them yellowing or getting clouded. However, I heard that the housings for these on new cars are of better materials that are more resistant to UV yellowing/clouding. The final product didn't have any bubbles, egregious creases, inconsistencies and the film reached beyond the frit edge. Max mentioned to me that typically the overhead glass is not included in the quote because customers usually don't request this as it already has a very sufficient factory tint which blocks 99.9% of UVs anyways. BUT, I am OCD and needed the glass transition from the rear to the overhead glass to be a consistent tint so I request that the overhead be tinted to match the rear. When it comes to the rear glass, request a quote for having it done in a single piece of film with no seams. They do great work here at UP and have great customer service, which means you do pay a premium. BUT you get what you pay for and I didn't want anything less for my Tila. See photos! read more

I recently bought a used 2014 MS P85 that had some cheap eBay lowering links installed without proper rear camber arms, which caused the alignment to be off and premature tire wear. I've been a long-time car enthusiast, so this didn't sit well with me, so I had to correct the issue. While digging through the Tesla forums and researching different aftermarket parts for a solution, Unplugged Performance consistently came up as a reputable company with quality parts. I decided to check them out even though the prices were slightly higher than other competitors, and I quickly learned that the engineering and material used in their parts were unmatched and was worth the extra bucks to get top grade parts for my car. I spoke with Ross, my sales rep, about the issues with my car and he recommended a solution with their lowering brackets, which are stronger, more secure, and better fitted compared to the adjustable lowering links, and he also recommended their rear camber arms, which are beefer and made from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum, to fix the alignment issue. Since UP is authorized for Tesla service and body repair, I felt confident having them install the parts for me instead of going through a regular ICE shop who may not be familiar with Tesla vehicles. (TIP: UP's hourly labor rate is cheaper than Tesla, so save yourself some money by bringing your Tesla to UP for service and any body repair. They also have a variety of free snacks and drinks to munch on while you wait). During the service, we found that I needed to replace a driver side front control arm and get new suspension links, which Ross helped order through Tesla and the parts came readily fast. After all parts were installed (including some wheel spacers) and the alignment completed, I drove the car home and I instantly felt a HUGE improvement in ride quality and handling. I'm so happy with the results, especially the stance of my car! During my visits, I got to spend time chatting with some of UPs team members. Ross, Blake, Jonathon, James, and the rest of the crew at Unplugged Performance are awesome dudes who have a wealth of knowledge about Teslas and have one of the most stellar customer service I've come across. They really made me feel part of the UP family and that they always had my best interests at heart. I have a Model 3 RWD made in early 2022 before Tesla softened the suspension later in the year. Being used to Honda Accord and CR-V, the ride has been so firm to me, I could feel every little bump. Railroad crossings and curb ramps have been especially rough. Even my back would hurt after a long drive. So I decided to look into getting a new luxury coilover from Unplugged Performance. Unplugged Performance asks for full prepayment for parts and labor and that can make one anxious about how much difference it makes. Is this a good system? What if it doesn't feel any different? Taking a spin after installation, I could definitely tell the difference. Driving over the roughest ramps were not so jarring anymore. Their luxury coilover is adjustable, but I didn't need to change anything because it came out of the shop just the way I wanted it. Don't expect a float-on-the-cloud feel you'd get from a high-end Mercedes Benz, but you still get a lot more comfort than Tesla's stock coilover. No issues more than a month after the installation. I don't even think about the suspension nowadays. read more

Bought suspension and aero parts from them via their german dealer Atomic Shop. They tried to scam me out of my money multiple times by claiming product *i already paid for* went up in price before they shipped it. They also overcharged me 3x for the shipping. The spoiler was full of pinholes and scuffed clearcoat, including some edges that were completely naked. I had to paint those myself. I ended up waiting 9 months for all the parts to ship. They forgot to ship an emblem. Their front efficiency lip's fitment is a joke - it sags underneath because it's too wide and flappy. One of the shocks i ordered ended up being louder than the other two, and one knocks VERY audibly on every sharp bump - likely factory fault on the valves. Atomic tried to get rid of me by saying they "don't know what was done to the shocks since they were sold" even though i raised scuffs on them as an issue immediately after i received them. Unplugged, meanwhile, just ignores me and refuses to respond to my emails. Bad company with bad dealers and bad products. Avoid. read more

I had comfort orientated suspension enhancements to my Model 3. During initial slow speed testing going through dips, speed bumps, and train tracks, it was hard to feel a difference. I brought the vehicle in July 2019 thinking Elon and team had already built a vehicle that fulfilled my every need and desire. This attitude changed after taking the vehicle home. Driving at higher speeds on the freeway, the ride quality is noticeably smoother and relaxing. My sister and parents, still apprehensive about switching to EVs, stated the ride quality had improved too. Often it's difficult for me to convince them purchases I've made is money well spent, but the entire family is in concurrence on this once. The Model 3 (FloWithDaFrands) is now the first choice in which vehicle we ought to take on family trips. Before this, we'd take the Mazda CX-5 since there was more leg room for my elderly parents (69 & 64 y.o.) sitting in the back and a higher ride height. I'd only use FloWithDaFrands when I was by myself or with Tesla enthusiasts/close friends. James Hedland, customer experience director, put it succinctly, that we'd be comparing the ride feel to that of a Lexus. I believe this to be accurate despite only owning Toyotas and Hondas my entire life. Given my aunt works at a Lexus dealership in Thailand for 20+ years, I am excited to put this statement to the test. She should be visiting America once the Covid pandemic passes over and I'll update everyone on whether she's impressed. James was very attentive, knowledgeable in answering all of my questions prior to installation, and patient when it came to working with my schedule to schedule FloWithDaFrands' operation. With James leading Unplugged Performance (UP), it's safe to assume all current and future sales advisors will be well versed in answering and meeting the needs of future clientele. Elon Musk stated an aim in producing Teslas was to make a vehicle you could be proud of owning; not just a vessel to get you from point A to point B. The overall design and specifications of the Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor was the big reason I worked so hard to responsibly afford the car. I could not settle for a Hybrid Corolla or a Prius C, but after my last car needed costly repairs I was almost forced to. Luckily, it's not the reality we're living in. I'd been driving my Model 3 since July 2019, back and forth from North Los Angeles to South Orange County. It was already performing to my every expectation. UP's motto didn't make sense to me before because I believed Musk had perfected the vehicle, but I stand corrected. We can go "up" in performance with modifications from UP! Immense thank you's to the team at UP! You can gladly take my money. Now we'll just need to decide which modification to make next! read more

Unplugged Performance is the perfect blend of a company doing BIG things with a smaller and modest feel. I have considered upgrading my old fascia S to the new fascia and they are more than thorough with answering your questions about processes and what their products do. It's very refreshing, especially as a woman, to be able to go somewhere in the car space and get that trusted feel and that you aren't being taken advantage of, which unfortunately, is something that is very real that I have experienced before. It's getting less and less common now if you aren't buying the car or repairing it, but I digress. Ladies, please take your business here! Their space is in Hawthorne right next to SpaceX and the Tesla Design Studio which makes it feel even cooler. Shout out to Eric and Jeff for answering any and all questions and making suggestions as to what fun things can be done to the Model S. Another nod to James, who introduced himself as director of customer experience, which was really nice. They make sure you're very comfortable in their lobby space, and everyone wears masks and keeps a nice distance so it feels very safe. I ultimately decided I will be selling my Model S and acquiring a new 3 in the near future, and I intend to get either lowering springs or coilovers (haven't decided yet) and an adjustable sway bar to start. I probably won't take my new 3 to the track as tempting as it may be, but I have experienced the feel in a friend's car, and I have to say the coilovers do improve the driving feel enough while driving around town. It really brings out more of the spirit of the car, while feeling planted but comfortable. Honestly, look no further: Unplugged is definitely made for car people, by car people, and you'll be delighted with your purchase(s)! read more

Fitment was good and installation was a breeze as the lip just slips on over the existing bumper (no drilling or cutting). From start to finish the it was an absolute pleasure working with Cavan Roe. Prior to the purchase all questions were answered as I was guided through the process. Cavan kept me updated as the parts were ordered, painted, and shipped. Even after shipping he followed up to ensure I had received everything and if I had any questions related to the install. Will 100% recommend to the review readers and friends/family and would be thrilled to work with Cavan to purchase from Unplugged again when the need (read: itch) arises. read more

I'm planning to buy a Tesla and while doing some research on after market products stumbled across this gem of a business. They do everything from customizing interiors to body kits and suspension upgrades. They were very friendly and helpful even though I wasn't buying at the time. They even called me back when I had another question! Great customer service. They'll definitely get my business once that Tesla is in my garage. Highly recommend. read more

Just picked up my Tesla Model S from UPM. I had them change the shocks, torque all the suspension bolts and perform an alignment. The main reason I went is because I have been chasing a low speed rattle in the suspension for 5 years! Tesla couldn't figure it out and we had replaced the shocks, steering rack, sway bar links and outer tie rods. UPM found one bolt in the upper control arm that wasn't torqued to spec. PROBLEM SOLVED! Frank and Moto were the people I had the most contact with. Great guys and a great company! read more

My car had the upgraded face done. The Model S shark nose was removed and replaced with the modern more aerodynamic face. I loved the service they provided. They got everything done as soon as possible and always updated me with any new steps taken on the vehicle during the whole process. I would recommend this clean facility to anyone. It's the best place to come and improve your car performance and looks. Look no further than Unplugged Performance. read more
