My son and I visited a few months ago for the first time. There were mostly birthday parties there. Every time there was a birthday announcement, the play areas cleared quickly. There is a classic soft play area, but our favorite part was the little town. There was a school, coffee shop, diner, market, fire station, veterinarian, ballet studio, movie theatre and more. They had a treehouse and a castle as well as well as a pirates ship. It's really cool they have a fish tank in the vet area and they play a real movie in the movie theatre. Areas for improvement: more cubbies and hooks. We had to use a bench 6because there were no more cubbies. The price was around $15-16 and was good for all day play. There is also a DQ in the plaza for a sweet treat afterwards. While Montclair is a bit of a drive, this play place is unique and worth it to visit again.

This place was great! It is clean, staff was friendly, not too busy on a Saturday, priced well, and lots of areas for kids to explore. There is an entire village of buildings the kids can explore with toys and costumes. There is another area that is a climbing play area as well as an eating area. My two toddlers loved it!!

So my wife booked this place for my son's 5th birthday party. Little did we know how much of a hidden gem it is. The kids absolutely went berserk! So much to do and use their imagination. But best part about it was the establishment's employees. They were over the top with accommodating every change we threw at them without hesitation. They decorated for the party, served the kids, and helped us pack-up when it was over. Then someone I believe was one of the owners sat and held a nice long conversation with my son (a five year old). I believe he was negotiating his next party. They took a lot of the worry out of planning for a kid's birthday party and their patience was unparalleled. I don't give out 5-star reviews for sport, they earned it and my business in the future. You had one job. Throw a party, make some food and send us away happy! You exceeded expectations! And we thank you!

Fish look great and well well taken care of! Usually I worry about fishies at public places like stores that aren't pet stores.

This place is AWESOME to bring the kids! Safe, clean, fun, and the staff is AMAZING! Lady at the front desk today was kind, welcoming, especially to our kids! I can't believe I have not known about this place for all of these years!

This hidden gem is our favorite place! The staff is great!! Everything is so clean! My daughter loves coming here so much we planned her party here too!

the party room all decorated

We discovered this gem and few months ago and they loved it so much we decided to book a birthday party. I can't recommend borthday parties here highly enough. We had a 30 minute overlap with another party (which they warned me might happen) but the kids had an absolute blast. I was so impressed at how easy it was. I dropped off decorations the week before and they too care of EVERYTHING ! It was so nice to walk in 5 minutes before the party with nothing but the kids and the cake and have everything done already. The staff were so friendly and helpful, I can't recommend it highly enough!

What a wonderful little play place near Woodbridge! My daughter and her cousin had such a fun time exploring the little town which included a fire station, veterinarian, ballet studio, corner market, movie theatre and school house. Additionally there were several tree houses, a castle complete with a dragon and thrones, toddler soft tot area, and a play structure similar to what you would see at Chuck E Cheese. I appreciated all of the little details such as a real live fish tank at the vet and the movie theatre playing the Incredibles 2 inside. Throughout our time there, I saw the workers constantly picking up toys, vacuuming and making sure that everything was very tidy. $15 to get in was a great price (and includes two parents!) and the fact that you are even able to come later in the day was really cool. A few suggestions for a full five star experience: hooks in the bathroom (I felt kind of gross setting my bag on the floor), hooks for coats and more cubbies, new paint (a lot of it was peeling off the walls -- including in the party room), and a refresh on toys, stuffed animals, and costumes. They all looked very shabby -- I can only imagine how many kids have put their hands on them.

We booked a birthday party here for our 2yr old son and everything turned out so nice. Our host was amazing and accommodated all of our needs. My son including his friends had so much fun and didn't want to leave. This place isn't that big but just big enough for our 2yr old to run around and enjoy all the different play stations. Thank you for making our experience memorable; we will be returning!

I miss the gentleman that used to work the front, a lot. He was always so friendly and welcoming. You could see him come into the play area picking up toys and cleaning while you were chasing your child around the establishment. There's someone new now and while I understand they are still learning, there are just some things that are a given. The place was completely empty early this afternoon but it looks like no one cleaned up. It was my child saying "who made all this mess?!" and putting away the toys herself that made me think of him. What truly was disappointing was finding 7 dead flies on the extremely dusty window ledge by the toddler play area (that was pointed out by my bug fearing kid). I would've dropped my rating to 1 star but my kid really loves this place and there's no other place like it around here.

Is this place good for bigger kids 8-9?

Depends on the kid. But we had a birthday party here for our 6-year-old and we have 3 guests who were 8, 9 and 10 and they still had a ton of fun!

There is also pressure at the counter to make a quick decision, especially with a long line of customers waiting behind you, which makes it difficult to thoroughly read and understand the contract in its entirety before signing. After realizing the park's hours of operation did not work with my son's and my schedule, I immediately reached out by email requesting to cancel the membership. My request was denied. I also explained the financial hardship caused during the government shutdown, contacted corporate directly, and submitted a formal letter, yet they still refused to work with me. Unfortunately, this experience showed me that this park is not customer-focused. Customers are locked into a strict 12-month contract regardless of whether the membership becomes unusable, financially difficult, or was originally presented in a misleading way. PLEASE CHECK BUSINESS HOURS AND THE CANCELLATION POLICY CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING ANY CONTRACT.

I am writing with some concerns about the way my family was treated by your staff on Saturday morning at the Alexandria location. First, let me share that my wife and I discovered Scramble at Christmastime, and have now been several times to both the Alexandria and Falls Church locations. I felt we had discovered a true gem - a place where we could retreat with our now two-year-old for a morning or afternoon of fun. The whole environment is designed for fun, and I appreciated how inclusive things felt, as we interacted with your staff and strangers with smiles all around. But our visit on Saturday left us feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, and like second-class citizens. We visited the Falls Church location a few weeks ago and asked about birthday options outside of hosting a party, because we envisioned a very small gathering. The staff member there explained that if you do not book the birthday package, you cannot bring in outside cake or balloons and that we would only be able to purchase food from you all. Got it - all good! We invited two friends and their little ones to gather with us on Saturday morning, we paid the entry fees for everyone who joined, and we ordered a few pizzas to enjoy while our little ones ran around. We were first approached by your staff member, Cora, shortly after receiving our food. She came to our table and told us to move the two tables that we had pulled together apart. Her approach was curt - she didn't start by explaining any rationale for what the issue was - she simply gave us the directive. I asked her if she was serious because of the tone - I was honestly surprised - and then she explained that it was a fire hazard. So we moved the tables apart and returned to our fun. About twenty minutes later, while we were all away from the tables where our belongings were sitting, Cora approached again. This time, she snatched a gift bag while my wife was nearby. She told my wife that gifts were not allowed, and proceeded to move it outside of the play area. I intervened to ask her what the issue was, and she explained that we could not have a gift without having a party. I then went to the front desk and spoke with her and the party manager for a while to ask what the issue was and to share that I felt like we were being targeted because we had two separate interactions, and none of this was explained when we checked into the venue. We are not rule-breakers. I am fastidious in honoring the rules of any space I enter. My wife jokes about me being too straight-laced. I understand that Scramble has rules, and have no desire to work around them. I believe that this interaction could have been resolved through a simple dialogue where a member of your staff could have politely shared the policy and asked us to make a shift. Instead, we felt like delinquent teenagers, and the experience was deeply embarrassing and off-putting. Our guests, visiting for the first time after our rave reviews, wondered what the issue was. After Cora removed the gift bag without approaching us to explain things, I felt unwelcome and uneasy about even staying. I felt the message she sent to us was that we were second-class citizens that day - those deserving of respect at your establishment are those who pay a premium for expanded services. And I could not help but wonder if the interactions would be different if half of us were not people of color. I am not sharing this because I seek retribution against Cora. I share this instead, hoping that your establishment can be more considerate of your guests. You say that your mission is to "provide extraordinary play for all children"; I hope you will consider that the environment you create for families has an impact on your ability to attain that mission.

For starters this place is so unkept, it's so incredibly dirty and the bathrooms are gross. I truly wonder if they ever clean this place? We visited 2 years ago and again this weekend, and I can tell they haven't updated a single thing. Including the nasty pom poms that have clearly seen better days and cost 2 cents a piece. This is the weirdest children's museum I have ever been to. Not even sure what the target age group is. They have like half of an exhibition appropriate for each different age group. The exhibitions are not cool, barely entertaining, half of them are broke or barely work, they are all dirty as can be. And the museum overall is tiny! I feel bad for the people that pay to visit this place. This was definitely the last time we visited, even with free tickets. Every single Smithsonian museum is 100000x better than this, and they are all free. So save your time and money and visit any of them, I'm sure your kids will be more entertained there and at least they won't catch a nasty virus from playing in this dirty place.
