    Fresh rolls

There are lots of things to like about unPhogettable. The ambience is very nice. The restaurant is clean, with plenty of seating. The folks are nice, and I was greeted immediately upon entering. I liked that they brought a water carafe to the table. The restaurant would be a great spot for a larger group. The food was good. Not great, but good. I started out with some fresh rolls with peanut sauce. I usually get shrimp but chose the pork, this time around. I have to admit they fell flat. I kind of wonder if they maybe gave me tofu instead of pork, because the "meat" in the roll certainly did not look or taste like pork. It was bland and just odd. The roll itself was pretty boring, overall. No basil or cilantro to brighten it up and the peanut sauce wasn't that good, either. The rolls were a disappointment. The pho was definitely better. Nice sized portion with fresh accoutrements. Was it the best pho I've ever had? No. But, it was good. The menu is extensive, with lots to choose from. If I go again I will try something new as opposed to my favorite, which is pho! This lunch was very spendy and in hindsight I wished I had paid better attention to my receipt. With tip, I paid approx 35.00 and I don't think it should have been THAT much. Waaaay too much for a lunch. If I go back I will pay better attention to the charges. If you go, pay attention to your bill. Overall the service was better than the food, but I'm willing to give it another try.

I'm a fan of Hu Tieu and it's so difficult to find. They have a new Menu and here it is!!! I'm pretty excited! The broth is fantastic. Healthy portion and the Salad Rolls were fantastic also.

Unphogettable2 has new ownership and is now called Pho Green Papaya. They need to change the sign outside. Nice fresh feeling open dining with nice soft music in the background. I started with shrimp bbq pork salad rolls that came with really really good peanut sauce. I ordered 2 dishes with plans for leftovers Spicy Beef Noodle Soup & Yellow Curry w Shrimp. Leftovers enuf for several meals. Also ordered their House Pho for my neighbors who invite me over all the time for dinner. Only one lady host was working today, Cassy, who was super duper!! Definitely my favorite in Longview. Bathroom was clean and sparkly. A great dining experience. I will return.

The definition of a charming little downtown restaurant!…read more The décor is wonderful, and I love that they've preserved its old-time character. There's an eclectic mix of tables and chairs that adds to the charm, and they've done an excellent job fitting plenty of seating into the space without making it feel crowded. There's also a cozy little bar with the obligatory TVs. Despite the lack of soft surfaces, the noise level was surprisingly low, and the background music was at just the right volume, making conversation easy. We seated ourselves, and our server arrived promptly with menus and took our drink order. Unfortunately, after our food was delivered, she seemed to disappear. She never came back to check on our meal, and we ended up asking another server for drink refills. The food, however, was fantastic! I had the Pacific Pasta (I may have the name slightly wrong), and it was outstanding. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was light and flavorful, and there was so much seafood! I expected a couple of shrimp and a few chunks of salmon, but the plate was loaded with both. My husband ordered the tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly, and he enjoyed the rice as well. The presentation of both dishes was excellent. The prices were very reasonable. Our bill came to about $110 for an appetizer, two entrées, and three drinks. If I had one small wish, it would be cloth napkins. It's a tiny detail and certainly doesn't take away from the experience, but it's one of those little touches that would have made the meal feel just a bit more special. Overall, I was very impressed and would definitely recommend this restaurant. I'd happily return the next time we're in town.

There was live music (apparently on Wednesday nights) and the place was crowded. But our service was great. We were immediately greeted and sat at a a little table for two. Parking (mid-week) was easy on the street and we only had to walk half of a block. The location is easy to find. We walked in shortly after opening, and though there was already a table seated, it was eerily quiet. There is no music or ambiance, which is odd with the high ceilings and open concept of the layout. We were greeted and sat near the window (which we requested, preferring to sit near the light, as the inside the sort of dark) and we sat for a while before they visited our table and asked for our drink order. Once ordered, the drinks came relatively quickly. We also ordered the coconut shrimp, which was probably the best dish that we had here. We sat near the front window for the natural light, as it was a lovely day. The food took an inordinately long time to come out and there is no music or anything else, so it was very awkward and quiet. Once our food came, we had a very hard time enjoying it because there was 6-7 flies buzzing around us and trying to land on our food. It was very distracting and frustrating. What we did eat was sort of bland and the rice was sort of dry... tasted a bit like it had been reheated in a microwave. 2 stars because the young woman who served us was very nice and the Thai iced tea we had was delicious in addition to the shrimp. We won't go out of our way to eat here again. Hopefully they get the fly issue under control.

Does the thought of raw fish make you squeamish? No worries here!…read more #1 All of the menu items with raw fish are indicated with a bright red star, so no surprises. #2 There are over 200 choices on the menu! So glad I grabbed one as we left so I could study it for next time! We had the privilege of living in Japan several years ago. Long enough to try just about everything and some things I'd wished I hadn't! (My hubby was in his realm & I'm the squeamish one!) Sushi Sakura has done an amazing job in offering so many choices for just about any pallet. Everything is beautifully presented in typical Japanese fashion. I'm partial to Bento Boxes because of the variety in them and they're so stinkin' cute. And their Sushi ROLLS! We got the biggest kick out of the names of some of them: Miso Sexy Roll, the AK47, Godzilla Roll, just to name a few! The dining room is huge with lots of seating. The decor is a little spartan, but that is also somewhat typical Japanese. They keep things very clean, uncluttered and simple. I've got to try one of their noodle bowls next, now that it's winter!
