I took my dog cookie for grooming and they did just what I asked them to do. Everyone was super friendly and helpful

my go-to place for my puppy yayo. but, i can find better prices for doggy items elsewhere. :) but the manager is uber cool and the people who work here are extra friendly! read more

Aww, I love coming here! Some of the employees are very bubbly with great personalities, others not so much. Can't complain though! They have a great selection of items and a good variety of limited ingredient food/treats. If the online price is $5-10 difference, they will match that price! Unless it is the greenies treats, they cant do half off, so better to buy online! It only took 2-3 days, since the facilities have fast transportation to SoCal. I also tried the vetco clinic and the people who came were also very nice. They were gentle and made sure I understood the microchip paperwork. There was a 20 minute wait, but I think it was worth it, since my babies are sensitive to rough hands from other facilities. I have been to the self wash sometimes, I think it is a great idea and close to home! They do check for fleas and ticks, and I'm glad they do! Just because you refuse to treat your dog, does not mean that you should pass along what comes off your dog to others. If there is ever a time I can't treat my dog on time, I simply wait on going to public places until I do. Please understand this is a necessary policy! I may not use the selfwash as much as I use to, but one of the reasons why I stopped.. I saw 5 fleas from a previous self washer.. and the employees tried to clean it. Better to do it at home! read more

Made appointment by phone 4 days in advance for my 3 dogs to get groomed all that was requested was updated rabies. Finally get there they refuse to take our dogs because of allergy medicine there were no postings of prior medical conditions the groomer told my wife she has a attitude because my wife ask why wasn't this explained on the phone groomer stated rudely in letting you know now my wife took all 3 of our pups walked.out and said we will never use your store again. No apology ever given or explanation read more

Not professional, disrespect for customers as they can't properly keep previously made appointments. Discriminate base on ethnicity as not all dogs are inspected by fleas, only those of non-white customers...and I thought those days were over. Shame on you people! read more

I get the concept, but that doesn't mean that there needs to be urine puddles in multiple locations.

It was refreshing to find a place where the people really care about personalizing their customer relations! My family and I enjoy visiting the store to just hang out and visit. We have met lots of fun people, and the dogs always get free treats and a chance to play. They have really cool self dog wash stations, and the groomers are awesome. I have never seen my dog so happy to see the groomer. They truly love going to the groomer these days. Their genuine love for the dogs they groom really shows. It's really cool. If your dog sheds like mine, go see Holly, she is amazing. I can't tell you how nice it has been to get rid of all the extra hair around my house. read more

Cutting my dog's nails is definitely a task. I can't do it. I can't do it especially since Indy manages to wriggle, shake and cry no matter what. The girls at our vet's have struggled with holding Indy and they have even been 'christened' by him so to speak. I've also had his nails grinded at Petsmart and he fought the groomer and shook from fear. But my sister and I decided to take Indy into the groomer at Unleashed who was very patient and gentle with Indy. What I especially liked about this groomer is he really loves pets especially since he would give Indy reassuring pecks and pats! Too cute. This proved to me that Unleashed really focuses on pets! I'm a still a fan! read more

Here for self wash and I asked a question of how long it was going to be because there was an open tub and the cashier was rude. She didn't answer my question just treated me like I was stupid for asking why a tub was open. She said it was broken but there was no sign on it or anything. She was just on her phone read more

Love going here to wash my dog. And I hear that it is half price on Mondays when you wash your pooch. Usual price is $10.00, the facilities are pretty clean, and they are made for customer ease, not like the old bath tub at home. You get some shampoo and conditioner, and also some towels. And free reign over the water and tub area. The staff is very nice and they really do love dogs. You can also get a lot of the food/supplies for your cat or dog mostly. But they do seem to have stuff for your fish or other pet here. Perhaps not as much as an actual Petco or Petsmart. All in all a nice place to go with the pooch, but I wouldn't suggest that you walk around with your dog/cat "unleashed", as the automatic sliding doors will open up if your pet gets too close to them. read more

I have taken both of my English Bulldogs here to have them groomed and I have been very satisfied both times. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I wish I remembered the two ladies that groomed my babies but I am awful with names. They were both GREAT! My girl got her nails polished pink and they looked great! My babies smell sooo good when I pick them up. I like this place and it's close to my house which is great. I will be taking my babies here from now on to be groomed. read more

I've been coming here for several years for my dog's nail trim and teeth cleaning. While there is an Unleashed closer to me in Spring Valley, they only offer the wash. The Nail Trim is $10 and Teeth Cleaning is $13, which comes to $23. The service is fast taking no more than 10 minutes for both to be done. If you're getting the nail trim alone, it takes no more than 5 minutes. Because they work quickly I've never had to make an appointment. I only docked a star because the check-in process has taken awhile for me since the system is slow. read more

I have always had great experiences bringing my dogs to the grooming salon. The people who work there have always been very friendly and during check-in they have pointed out things that I hadn't noticed on my dog. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone. I will definitely be back. read more

Came into the store tonight, September 21, 2015, and was greeted right away. The employees are very friendly and helpful! My puppy Leo was being a brat and pretty timid but they gave him treats, were extra friendly and recommended the puppy classes. David was trying to get love from Leo and even got down on the floor to feed him treats(which Leo loved, thanks David!) Leanne showed us the puppy food we were looking for and brought it up to the front for us she even helped Leo pick out his new favorite hedgehog toy(which was on sale). Laura rang us up and helped us get as much of a discount as possible on our purchase. The employees here provide excellent customer service and Unleashed is very lucky to have them. In a couple months Leo will be seeing you guys for puppy classes!! Thanks again. read more

Stepped into the store for the first time yesterday with our newly adopted dog. Lee Ann was great! She was so nice and kind enough to help me with all the essentials needed to bring our first inside dog home. The grooming department was also Great and squeezed our dog into their busy schedule. This will definitely be our store for "Jack" read more

I came in here yesterday and I am in love with this place. My sister and I came in to bathe our dogs. Unleashed has huge tubs that make it easy for pet owners to wash their dogs. The store provides shampoo, conditioner, brushes, towels, aprons and bathtubs (four in total). The baths even have a harness so that dogs/ cats won't jump from the tub. It's so much easier bathing your dogs at Unleashed. Other than its awesome bathing station, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I will definitely be back. Five stars all the way baby! read more

I love how close this location is to our house but I'm always disappointed. At least 4 times in the last several months I've gone in the middle of the day and no one is available to trim my dog's nails. Today someone was there but she said she couldn't do my dog because he was too large, as she's recently had surgery. Okay..fine..then Petco needs to staff grooming with someone who can. They're also out of the cat litter we buy probably 50% of the time. It's frustrating when half the time I go there I can't get the dogs nails trimmed or find the product I need. read more

So seeing how my last review was deleted, i shall write another. DO NOT take your animal here to get groomed. I mean unless you want your dog yelled at to "shut up" took my German Shep here to get her nails cut. She barked a few times and i'm assuming the boy who was working on her got frustrated and yelled "SHUT UP" about 4 times. I was in shock, i did not know what to do. so i just paid and took off. the employees seemed not so concerned. I don't even yell at my dog, what made him think he could? Just an awful experience, i will never go back. read more

Love the convenience of the self service dog wash, but I wish they had a blow dryer available. Other self-serve dog washes that I've been too offer blow dryers! Also, the shampoo and conditioner they offer seems watered down. Bottom line-still better than washing my big dog at home, but I'll always bring my own products and ask for extra towels. read more

pros...pretty close to work, and when i need to give my doggy a wash this is one place to think about. not usually busy in the mornings, and they really seem to like my doggy too. and i love how everybody thinks my 13 year old chow chuchu, thinks she is still a puppy. the wash itself is very useful, and way better than washing in the tub at home. bonus, every time the groomer guy seems my chow, he gets very nostalgic about his childhood chow, Sheena. and then he proceeds to tell me stories about her. but besides having the dog wash facilities, this place has all the required stuff for a pet supply store: food, treats, beds, collars, harnesses, toys, costumes and anything else we pet owners could want for your pets. and unlike all my other reviews, this place has lots of large, expansive parking spaces and it's own lot. cons...i think they used to have a discount on mondays, but it doesn't seem that way now. but for $10 it's not a big deal. read more

I love coming here! I used to only shop at PetSmart but I tried Petco and the reward points can't be beat! I adopted a cat from Chula Vista Animal Shelter and got a book of coupons ... they are amazing! I saved so much money from them! Also, the service is always great. Today, Lee Ann and Jesse helped me and I was so greatful! They answered my questions and informed me of a better food for my Bengal. Lee Ann said a customer left a book of coupons for people and she gave me a $4 off my cat food. I was so happy! These two went above and beyond, and I greatly appreciated their excellent customer service!! read more

Love this place. From self wash dog area to the grooming and the extensive food options they offer. Josh in the grooming area does an amazing job. I love taking my dog to this grooming salon. Josh does the best job. He is very professional, friendly, cuts exactly how I want, and makes me feel comfortable leaving my dog there. I would recommend avoiding the self-wash area, however. There is no help in the area, the shampoo is very watered down (apparently because it is from concentrate?), the brushes are full of other animal's hair, the perfume spray bottles are broken and wont spray, and they just have towels to dry your dog. Not worth the $10 in my opinion. Other than that, love Unleashed and prefer it over Petco and definitely over Petsmart. read more

Love this location. We got our corgi trained by Cecilia and our little Coco is so much more well behaved in public. She still gets overly excited around strangers but she listens when we ask her to stop. Overall, the staff here is very friendly and very helpful. read more

I really like this place. Most employees are friendly however there's not many people up at the register and I witnessed an incident where they left sanitizer cleaner by the self wash and a customer used it thinking it was shampoo. The customer handled it very well but the employee was being so rude about it. She told her that she should have known it was cleaner and it's not her problem. Then another customer joined in and she proceeded to be extremely confrontational. She was yelling and putting the bottle in their face saying that it's clearly sanitizer and she should know that. She just kept giving so much attitude. It honestly sounded like she was in high school fighting with a friend. I was very displeased with the incident. She is not friendly and very disrespectful to customers. I don't think she should be working there at all. I wouldn't trust her with my animal at all. Her name is Bridget. read more

I came in here to pick up some things for my new cat. Elizabeth gave me a coupon book and helped me pick some things out. She and Lisa patiently worked with me to apply each coupon. Took my dog to get groomed at Unleashed by Petco for the first time on July 20, 2017. This is not our usual grooming spot, but on that day my dog was rolling in dirt. I was having company over so, I needed him groomed ASAP and they were the only place that had an opening. A few hours after picking up my dog, I noticed that he was moaning in pain, he would not put his tail down, his anal was highly inflamed, and he could not deficate. I waited until the next day to see if there would be a difference and there wasn't. I contacted Unleashed who informed me that due to his age it's common for his anal to be inflamed after getting it expressed. I informed them that my dog is only 8 years old and this has never happened before when I take him to PetSmart to get groomed but, the first time I take him to Unleashed this happened. It did concern me that there was only one groomer with no one around to see what really goes on. They told me to come in to see the groomer and the manager by 1:30 pm but when I got there at 1:45 pm, the groomer had left and the manager never came in. They told me to take him to the vet, in which I did $160 later I was informed that the person who expressed his anal gland did not do a proper job and that they held his tail incorrectly causing it to have a bend which might now be permanent or in time it might relax back to normal, but wasn't broken. As for his anal gland the only thing I was able to do was use a warm compress soaked in Epsom salt 3 times a day and administer Neosporin for infections. I had to leave him with my sister who continued this treatment since I had to leave town two days later. When I returned his inflamation was gone but till this day his tail is still bent. I will never return. read more

Unleashed - My dogs tail now has a permanent bend after getting groomed there. - Pet Stores Near Me - Chula Vista, California

I had been going to Unleashed on Hst in Chula Vista for the past 3 years and they had always provided me with cotton balls for my dog's ears for the self-service bath. Some dog breeds are more prone to ear infections and you really have to be careful that their ears are protected. My dog was already tied up and I had requested the cotton balls and waited for 10 minutes to have the manger on duty (Will) to come and tell me that the policy has changed? I asked for proof of this policy change and he was not able to provide any written document about this new policy. Will lacks poor management skills. He was not able to provide any proof about this policy change; it was as if he was delighted that he was not able to give me cotton balls. My dog was already tied up ready to go, and instead of saying " I am so sorry, I do not have any proof, but I am telling you verbally today and because you have been coming here for 3 years, we value your business and I will give you cotton balls for your dog that is already tied up and ready to go, so that she does not get an ear infection, next time, just please bring your own cotton balls". That is a good manager read more

LISTEN UP! If you want your dog literally SCREAMED at while getting his/her nails cut take them here! I've taken my dog to Unleashed for over a year and a half and have never witnessed what i did there, let alone anywhere. Okay so my GSD was getting her nails cut there and while i walked away i can hear her barking... usually she fusses a little and gives up. I hear someone scream SHUT UP twice loud! And the last thing i thought that it was him yelling at my dog. Then i hear it again so i walk over. the Employe asked me "want me to check on her?" i said "was that him? and yeas please." she comes out looking humiliated and didn't know what to say so she said "oh she's fine" i asked her "do you guys usually yell SHUT UP to dogs?" she said "never i dont know why he is doing that and im so sorry." As i was watching him finish with her he seemed so frustrated and upset... but didn't you sign up to do this job? He didn't lay her down like i said which would have made it better. While passing her back to me he looked terrified like he shouldn't have been screaming at my dog. ANYWAYS the point to this rant is that if you drop your dog off... dont be so sure they aren't being screamed at while you are gone, because they do it while you are there!! I love my girl like a child and this set me off so much i took it to the manager and got my money back. The manager of the store didn't seem to care too much. Maybe Petco needs to check up on this store because obviously the manager cant handle this and they guy who screamed at my dog doesn't want to be there. read more

Took my Shih Tzu there. Shave the whole body short. Round face, don't cut the hair on the ears. Of course the hair on ears was cut. Round face... It would kinda round... I guess. But they just trim it shorter instead of actually getting the whole face short. Because we didn't say it should be a short round face... Really? Really? So I ended up with a shih tzu with long hair on the face and short hair on the body. Can you imagine that? read more

This was my first time at an Unleashed store. I went because they were open relatively late and they had a very inexpensive self wash. I called first to see if I needed an appointment. They have four bays, several aprons, and shampoo and conditioner. We were greeted immediately by a nice guy named David. He helped us over to the bay and we washed our mutt. When I'd called Grooming earlier in the day, Josh said that though the self wash doesn't have dryers, they could dry the dog for $10. I took her to Grooming, where Josh dried her as best he could, given the fact that my dog is a rescue and pretty skittish. Josh and David absolutely made my experience at Unleashed wonderful. They both seemed to really care about my dog, her story, and playing with her. I cannot say enough good things about them and I look forward to going back. Good to know: the groomers take tips and Josh absolutely earned one. Don't forget to bring a little cash to tip them if they do a good job. I'd wanted to put 4 stars on my review since they didn't have dryers to use, but the staff was so wonderful, I can't not give 5 stars. read more

I don't Yelp much, but I like to support good service. We had been looking for a dog for a while and finally found one we wanted, but had to pick her up on short notice. 3rd time I've come here at 7:00pm to use the dog wash and it's closed. If used to be open till closing. Lame.

I had a grooming appointment at 530pm. When I got there they told me that my puppy won't be able to be groomed until 700pm!! So not sure what the point of my appointment was?? They then told me they would just put her in a kennel with water until they were ready for her. I thought okay but kind of strange that I made an appointment and she will be in a kennel for 1 and 1/2 hours?? So I thought I would look around for things cause I didn't want to leave and come back. Well good thing I did that!!! Josh the groomer comes back out holding my shaking terrified puppy and told me "I don't think this is a good idea" he explained to me that she peed and pooped on him and even bit him while he was taking her out of the kennel. He then went on to explain that she might have separation anxiety!! My little girl has NEVER done that before, I've taken her to the vet where she had many unpleasant things done to her while I wasn't around and dog sitters before, she was just fine. So I'm not sure what happened in the back or how she was treated but I don't think my puppy would do that for no reason, and if she did ( highly unlikely) I'm sorry she bit you josh. After that I just did the self pet wash and she was just fine. Maybe she didn't like the way he picked her up or she was just that scared of him! I'll come back to buy toys and treats but not for a groom job!!!! read more

FIrst time coming here, and brought my 7 month old Shih Tzu puppy Bentley. Got a lot of info from two sweet associates named Gabby, and the other I don't remember her name but she was a pretty blonde who also worked at the front. They both gave me so much information about food, and shampoo, anything you name it. This is the only reason I'm even giving this place any stars at all. As for grooming, I would never take my dog here again. They scheduled my Bentley for a 330PM on a Saturday. I dropped him off and they told me he would be ready for pick up around 530PM. So around 430PM I get a call from the person who was supposed to groom him I believe her name was Jennifer. She asked me if I could tell her what Bentley's appointment consisted of because everything in his file or their computer got erased. So then I had to tell her all over again which I didn't have a problem with until I realized that for an hour straight what was Bentley doing? They said while waiting the dogs are put into a kennel so was my dog just waiting there this whole time? So I knew that my dog would obviously not be done around 530PM so I pushed until 615PM. I called to see if my dog was ready and the associate on the phone replied with "oh yeah he should have been ready by now" so he went to go check and told me there were two Bentleys checked in and he wasn't sure if she was done. He told me she was on her lunch break and she would call me when she got finished. 635PM rolled around and I got no call so I drove over there to see what was the problem? and through the window I saw Bentley still being worked on. 710PM rolled around and FINALLY my puppy was done. It only took 4 hours all in all? I was so disappointed. I understand if some places need more time but I could have gotten a courtesy call explaining everything or an apology. They also said it may take a little more time if the puppy is wild and not used to it but my puppy is well behaved and the calmed puppy out there so I know it wasn't that. read more
