Josh in the grooming salon does a great job grooming my dog Foxy (Border Collie/Australian Shepard) He has great customer service and you can tell he has patience for the animals. However the dog supplies and food are over priced. read more

I love coming here to wash my Shiba Inu. He sheds like crazy so it's nice to be able to bathe him myself in a tub that's not in our home - it makes clean up so easy! The price is unbeatable and the process is so easy - you go to the register to pay and then head to an open tub. They provide an apron for the washer, a brush, shampoo and conditioner. I don't use the shampoo as our pup has his own that we bring so I'm not sure of the quality of it but I do use the conditioner and it works well. They provide towels but they are so thin I usually end up using at least 2-3. They don't have blow dryers but that doesn't matter to us. I would recommend that they wash the aprons every once in a while because they all smell like musty mildew. read more

I have been going to this store because they carry the food that my puppy eats and it's on the way home. Before they recent price hikes I would have given this store 4 stars. It's a little bit pricier than their parent store Petco but they carry more natural foods. I'm all about quality but, the store has recently raised their prices on most products on an outrageous level. In less than two months I've seen a $3 dollar price hike!! The customer service has been great. I just hope that the store's employees get to have a piece of the profit with all of the extra money the store is getting from it's customers. I recommend looking around at other pet stores for your pet's needs. read more

Espy did a great job with my soft coated wheaten terrier! We are definitely coming back. Great prices and excellent work!

I always shop here. La Mesa location and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that the owners have not taken the time to put up window shades and the sun rays blast in and you litterally are blindsided when checking out your items. The staff keeps the store meticulously clean and organized. always a pleasure .. :) read more

First of all, I think this store caters more towards dogs...a lil' focus on cats as well, and I mean there are some things for other pets BUT the main focus I think is dogs. Anyway, I like this place. The location is great (It's kind of hidden, but it's near a lot: food joints, a Marshalls, a gas station, etc.), the staff is friendly, and there's always a dog in sight - dogs make me happy. Their tails are always wagging...it's cute. I've come here just around 4-5 times and it's always been an easy shopping experience. I had to make a return/exchange one time and that went smoothly - no problems, no hassle, just good customer service. read more

This place SUCKS!!! Had my puppies groomed here today and they did a HORRIBLE job. My puppies we're still wet and dirty. They said said my puppies we're too hard to handle(I thought they we're professionals) Also, I paid for them to be de-shed which I don't think they did because my puppies are wet but, still charged me for it. Isn't better to de-shed them when they are dry? NEVER coming back to this place and I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!! - Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and nice employees. - My dog food has been in stock every time, except for one time they only had the smaller bag so I got a discount. - One time I forgot my $5 coupon but the lady at the register still gave me $5 off - Store is CLEAN. - Plenty of parking. - I support them not selling small mammals at this store as I just witnessed some horrible children banging on the glass at the Broadway Petco, then saw that the poor guinea pig they were terrorizing was getting boxed up to go home with them =( - Yes, they are expensive, but Petco price-matches, so just tell them where you found stuff cheaper. read more

My two large dogs and I came in for the self wash bath area just before thanksgiving day. Pretty much walked right in and had a tub ready for us. Had some trouble finding my phone number for points but Rhonda was successful after a few frustrating tries. After the first dog had his bath, I anchored him to a spot near the grooming area as to not be in the way of other customers or myself. As I was in full bath mode with my second dog, Rhonda said that I needed to move dog 1 out of the grooming area because customers would not be able to approach the counter. I understood, however, there were no customers. I told her I would move him if i saw he was in the way. I got back to washing my dog and there was zero hot water. I asked Rhonda about it, her reply was "well, did you try turning off the cold water"? Well YES, I did that first! So in the end and $30.00 later, my dog had a cold water bath and we experienced horrible customer service from Rhonda from the moment we walked in. We will not be back. I recommend Dog Beach Dog Wash. super friendly employees waiting to help if you need it. read more

It was a good experience.. love the fact that it's so much easier and convenient than at home! I didn't do a 5 star because the shampoo was literally all water.. I would just take my own next time. read more

I have been here a few times and as soon as i walked in i was greeted. I told them i was just walking around but every so often they checked up on me. They noticed i had a puppy so was so helpful in recommending some things. Another visit i went because my puppy wasnt eating. The lady that helped me and damn i cant remember her name she was so friendly and knowledgeable. She took the time to tell us about the pros and cons of different dog foods plus gave us sooo many samples to try on our puppy and she guaranteed our puppy would like one of them. She was wrong, she loved all of them! I had a puppy that went from not eating to loving these sample foods! All in all highly recommend read more

It's cat and dog focused store. I like the organization. The thing I liked was the reasonable prices, especially with the cat furniture. I didn't buy (just yet) but I did see a nice cat tree probably worth about $110 at other places for $68. Good first impression. read more

My pup and I come here for private training lessons every week with Michelle. I highly recommend Michelle to anyone who is looking to train their dog. My dog is reactive to people and I was nervous at first but Michelle is amazing! She was understanding and made my dog feel comfortable. My dog has become more confident and always looks forward to our weekly training sessions. read more

My husband, pups and I all absolutely love this place. The do it yourself grooming area is great for after the beach fun. I also like the buckets in the back where I can buy individual chewies for under two dollars each. But the best part is the staff. I've never had a bad experience with them. Every member has been sweet and courteous when we're looking for things or checking out. They're also super sweet to our boys, making sure they get cookies before we leave and quick hugs. read more

We have used the services of several dog groomers in the area over the past 3 years and are very happy to say that Unleashed is our top choice. Our picky fur all, Pippin, comes out looking great and very relaxed and happy. He approves and gives Unleashed a 5 wags vote! You do need to make an appointment ahead of the normal (4-5 days) time. The obvious reason is that these groomers are very popular with owners and pets. read more

I'm really disappointed on how bad the cats are neglected, it makes me so annoyed that you would let the kittens or cat smell so horrible . It takes less than a minute just to clean out the cages. Also how hidden they are away from anyone . This is such animal abuse in my opinion . Horrible young men workers who act like a baby because they dislike cats . Also why work their if you don't like animals . Horrible, horrible , horrible . Seriously so angry and disappointed! Even petco & petsmart cats are better taken care of and they suck to. read more

My pup feels like a celebrity in this place, seriously. I feel like just the help holding her stuff, being her personal assistant/shopped. But really, I love coming here because everyone here is so nice, attentive, and helpful. You can tell the employees love their jobs and love animals. Our pup takes training classes taught by Katy, who is very knowledgeable, funny, patient and has so many great tips in addition to fun training sessions. I've tried several times over the years to have my dogs bathed there using their services and I have yet to be able to make an appoinmment. Today, Corey answered the phone and he was very lackluster and not helpful. The did not have any slots available this morning and he did not offer any alternatives - I asked for an appointment on sunday or monday or tuesday and after being on hold he came back with the only time available was 3pm - after telling him I get off of work at 3pm so the time is impossible. I asked if there was any chance of coming in at a later time and he said no and hung up. Im finally giving up on this place - good luck if you're able to get an appointment. read more

Went in on Tuesday the 25th when we got our new puppy. We spoke to Rachelle who was very nice and very helpful. She recommended we bring in our pup on Sunday to get his shots. We know how important it is to get the dogs shots so they don't get sick, so we took the time out of our busy schedules and brought him in. I didn't see Rachelle so we decided to talk to the Vets. At first everything is fine, they ask us the pups age which was 7-8 weeks and they were fine with that. We began to fill out paperwork and the Vets ask us how long we had the puppy. When we told them 5 days they stopped us and said their policy was that we have to own a the dog for 7 days before they can give our pup his shots. I could not believe they would not give my pup shots and risk him getting sick for how many days we owned him! Why does that matter? Please show me in writing that policy, because I cannot find it! The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of Rachelle being so cool and helpful. Other than that I'm a paying customer and don't see why owning my dog for 5 days and not 7 days makes a difference on why these vets would help my pup so he doesn't get sick. read more

We recently brought our puppy here for Dog Training through the Unleashed program and were very impressed. Prior to attending the course, we couldn't walk a block without Milton dragging us down the street. Rachelle (one of the dog trainers) introduced us to the Easy Walk harness, now Milton walks down the street comfortably and hardly pulls. Now Storm was our class teacher, we attended 6 weeks of her course and can't say enough good things!!!! She is positive, knowledgeable and loves animals! We are so glad we attended her course and plan to attend more :) Thank you to the whole team at Unleashed for always making Milton feel so special / welcomed!!! read more

I really love this place. The self wash station is awesome and I've never had a problem with the employees until today. I came in and paid for the self wash station and no one was at the register, then a girl came out and the first thing she did was blamed my dog of peeing on the floor because there was a puddle of water next to where we were standing. That's just plain rude. And when I said that my dog did not do that, her response was, "are you sure?". She didn't apologize and made me wait for the self wash station even though there was no one there. I looked at the receipt and her name is Patricia, sales associate #19. Unacceptable! Don't blame people! read more

I totally understand things can and will be hectic given our current worldwide pandemic. Clearly my dog being groomed is for sure very low on the priority scale. However, in my opinion the situation that happened this morning was absolutely ridiculous. I held for over an hour just to speak to grooming department to try and make an appt. After being transferred about four times I eventually was disconnected. Russell, one of the reps did call me back and instead of seeming apologetic he was inspired to let me know how busy they were. I heard no apology and as quick as I was replying to the info he had just given me on there were no appointments available today I was being placed on hold yet again so I could speak to a manager because I was voicing my frustration of being on hold that entire time just to be told there weren't any appointments available. Had i I known this when being placed on hold one of the 4 other times I could have ended the call in search of a groomer who did have availability. I have never had any situation since I've been being my lil guy here. Everyone has always been sweet, kind and professional. Most of all everyone prior was warm and welcoming. Evan after speaking to the team leader and feeling the same disconnect and cold responses prompts me to just switch to a different groomer all together. I care for my elderly mom and try to keep life as simple as possible! read more

NOTE:I give FIVE stars for those two employees present on that afternoon I took Bart in for a self wash..they were courteous, friendly to me and Bart..no stars for their self wash policy..I found this on yelp to give him a wash before I head back to the Bay Area tonight..when I came I was instantly greeted by the two employees..empty store as I was the only one in there..when I told them I needed a self wash, they started playing with Bart which I thought was nice but little did I know they were trying to look for fleas..my Bart gets monthly flea prevention and treatment plus I use oatmeal flea shampoo for prevention ..he is also due for a groom as he has thick shaggy fur and he is getting matted but my regular groomer is in Pacifica and I won't see her till first week of June..so they found a flea crawling underneath his tummy, he was denied a service for a self wash due to an illegal tenant in his tummy..I was bummed as I drove to get here plus I've been to many different pet washes without any incidents..I was offered to come back this weekend for a pill that only a vet can prescribe..he is not allowed to use the self wash until this pill is taken.I'm only visiting so there's no way I can come on the weekend to see their vet..left the place feeling sad, went back to my brothers place, game him a shower with flea killing oatmeal shampoo, blow dried, groomed, and now he's back to his fluffy smooth fur..petco you and your policy suck!!!! read more

I have a 80 pound boxer pit with some triggers and anxieties. I brought him in for a bath and he did great and we met Lisa! This employee helped us with his bath, and he took to her very quickly. She was very great with him and even helped us pick out dog food in my price range, he's eating it now and is sooo happy, assisted us with dog bones based around his tendencies to hide them if they're too big or lasting, and even showed us the sale section for cute toys. He got a Chewbacca plushie. She helped me carry out the heavy and huge bag to my car and I'm so grateful she was there because I would've had a very hard time without her help and care. I'm excited to start training next month. Thank you so much Lisa, Bri and Jax appreciate people like you!!! read more

Unleashed - Pet Stores Near Me - Chula Vista, California

Before today I would have given this store at least 3 or 4 stars. I actually worked for the promo company that passed out tennis balls for the opening of the first unleashed in Hill Crest / Mission Hills. They have everything I need in one location, the dog food we buy for our pets, etc... We started using the self dog wash a few months ago, it was good for the price, $10 per dog, Trust me South Bark is still by far the best self dog wash I have been to yet! But today, we went there with our two dogs and were going to purchase some flea shampoo to wash our little Puggle, we had noticed a flea on her earlier in the day. After purchasing the Shampoo, We were told we were not allowed to wash our Puggle in their tub due to the fact that it is a "public" facility and "dogs infested with fleas "were not allowed to be bathed there. We told them we have bathed our dogs there many times with no issues, they actually took a flea comb and got one flea from her and said no, so we just left and took her to South Bark, We used the flea shampoo they provided and the flea spray they gave out, it was $5 more then Unleashed but they seem much more knowledgeable about what the hell they are doing and customer service was great. Does Unleased not clean their tubs? when using a flea shampoo, that kills fleas, why would they care? they don't want dead fleas in their tubs? If they have a policy like this, why don't they have a person at the entrance of each store with a flea comb to check every dog that walks in the store to see if they have fleas or not before letting them even enter the store if it is that big of a deal. This time of year, all dogs or at least most dogs have fleas... read more

This is definitely the best Unleashed around. The dog section is really solid with good selections of little outfits, doggie transport travel bags, and all kinds of other goodies to spoil your fur baby with. The gourmet dog treat bar is awesome with selections so good looking you'll want to eat them. Employees are friendly and the store offers microchipping, vaccinations, etc. on Sunday's. Can't knock that. read more

First of all the science diet selection sucks! Second of all I couldn't even shop comfortably, I felt so awkward having them bombard me with so many questions about donating to cancer, and homeless dogs, and then rounding up my total. They don't have a Unleashed by Petco around where I live at and I stumbled upon this one trying to find somewhere to eat on H street. They have the cutest dogs coming through here to get groomed by their owners. I can watch the cute dogs for hours. It's like a new way to take big dogs to a place that has a facility just for bathing. They provide you with everything including shampoo conditioner and towels to dry your baby up. Cool place and I hope to take my dog here in the future. read more
