Micah is relaxed when he's with Espy, and that gives me so much peace of mind. She takes her time, handles him with patience and kindness, and always makes sure he's comfortable throughout the entire grooming process. You can tell she sees each pet as an individual, not just another appointment on the schedule. Every time I pick Micah up, he not only looks absolutely adorable, but he also seems happy, confident, and well cared for. That speaks volumes about the environment Espy creates. Tip: Self-wash hours are Monday-Sunday 10am-5:30pm. The self-wash for the dogs are not open for the same hours as the store. We made the mistake of assuming that one time. Another tip: if you have a hairy dog like ours, I'd suggest brushing them before the wash and after since it helps de-hair them. We've taken our medium size dog to this wash for almost a year and it's been great. There's always a wash available. They provide: shampoo, hair brush, pink scrub brush, aprons and towels. We'll bring in our our shampoo and towels. And we'll buy the pup-friendly cookies to give our dog as motivation to stay happy throughout the bath. Our furball has lots of hair (sheds) that needs some extra attention and she comes home so clean and smelling good. We have been using unleashed for several years now and the main reason is because of the lead groomer Espy Buenrostro. We have 3 fur-babies and she takes great care of them all. We have owned 4 dogs and we trust her with each one. Espy is talented and knows how to make our pets comfortable, she takes her time and treats them as if they were hers. We couldn't be happier with her service and are loyal customers based on her ability. Our 2 Doodles love chewing on each others neck & ears and Espy always has the patience to brush out the tangle's. Brought our boy here for a bath and honestly it's a great deal, $20 and they include everything from towels to shampoo and aprons. You can tie your dog down so they're not moving around much. I would just prefer scented shampoo. Next time I'll just bring my own. Other than that no complaints, it's better than washing your pet at home and making a huge mess. read more

I'm honestly surprised that Petco would promote someone with such poor customer service skills to the role of grooming lead. My experience with Espy was extremely disappointing. After seeing the number of similar negative reviews about her interactions with customers, I'm surprised she is still in this position. As a grooming lead, I would expect her to greet and welcome customers professionally, not come across as rude from the very beginning (like the moment she opened the door). I would also expect her to be able to answer basic questions without becoming defensive, especially when customers are asking about "mandatory" add-on services and related charges. Most importantly, as the lead, I would expect her to handle concerns professionally instead of immediately blaming customers when issues arise. Customer service should be a priority in a role like this, and unfortunately, that was not my experience. Instead, she refused service because of course I called her out on her horrible behavior, which I'm glad she did because I wouldn't expose my beautiful baby to be handled by someone who obviously hates her job (even though she was already inside the grooming area, behind closed doors). The only thing I hated more than her behavior was that she went back to the grooming area and didn't treat my dog with respect either when she brought her back because my dog seemed scared, but I mean, who wouldn't with her rude, unprofessional tone, and horrible demeanor. read more

I take my doggie a mix terrier and Lhaso to do most everything, except vet here! From Espy to Kai wow. They have helped me so much with my 2 1/2 year old doggie. When I first adopted her from a rescue, she would bark so much even a neighbor told me he thought she wouldn't do well me taking her to get groomed at Unleashed. When we first arrived she seemed nervous and a male clerk offered her a treat and she was so grumpy. But when Espy came out my doggie immediately went towards her! I was surprised. She would bark at everyone and all dogs. I couldn't believe it. It made me feel so happy and I saw my doggie open up to another human being. Espy was so sweet, professional and my doggie loved her from the start. When I picked her up she was so happy and when I got home my neighbor came out and I told him she did wonderfully with Espy and he was surprised. This was the beginning of our journey. Thank you Ms Espy. My doggie started blooming, not barking at people and other dogs. I literally thought, "will she ever like anyone". I've been taken her regularly to this location and she starts getting excited as soon as I turn toward the parking lot. I feel so safe leaving her here with Espy. My doggie has blossomed, now she is so loving, so friendly with all people and doggies lol. I can walk her anywhere and she will be the happiest. Every time I've told Espy what issues she's got she has helped me even pick stuff from Unleashed for her teeth, her coat and skin and have worked. I haven't had to take her to the vet. the Vet told me my dog has allergies. She is doing much better, thriving. I feel grateful found this place and Espy (and Kai). thanks! After a few weeks of heavy meds, a raw diet, and an uncontrollable bladder, our 15-year old forever puppy had a No.2 blowout, and we needed a shower FAST. Being at least a 35 minute drive from home, I am thankful that Unleashed has multiple doggy showers clean and ready for use. We walked in, and Angela happily greeted us. I told her that our pup had an accident, and she immediately walked us over to the clean shower which was ready to go. She brought us a couple aprons, more clean towels, and told us to let her know if we needed any help. We rinsed our pup off, then bathed him a few times with the provided soaps and conditioners, and dried him off. There were also clean brushes and combs for use. It was a fast, easy, and pleasant experience. I am thankful that Unleashed was there to save the day, and so very grateful that Angela was kind, attentive, and went above and beyond for our needs. I used the Vetco clinic inside the store for my dogs vaccinations. There was urine next to the scales where you weigh your dog. Poloa told the person in front of me it was just a spill. She never cleaned it up. I got the paper towels and spray and cleaned the scales, and soaked up the urine spot. This store is filthy. The employees have no pride at this location. The Vetco vaccine prices are 3times the price of last year. I will not be returning to this store again. My veterinarian has lower vaccine prices including an office visit. Vetco is not an affordable option for someone on a budget and no senior discount. Don't go here. Shots for pets is best! read more

For starters the young lady who was helping me was brand new and needed help but an older woman that worked there said she needed to learn and left her alone with me. I assisted her with transferring my fur baby to the back because she was struggling. While walking back there I overheard the older woman yelling at someone's dog and thought "wow, that's not very nice". Time goes by and I finally get the call to come get him in 30min however, when I arrive none are the groomers are there. They all take lunch at the same time. They left my dog in the kennel and went to lunch smh. I had to go find another store rep to assist me so I could get him. Honestly it was just a hot mess for the price I paid. Also, the grooming wasn't great either. I'm not sure they did much else other than a bath and I paid for a lot more. I was not satisfied and I do not plan returning. I recently had an appointment at the groomers for my dog on 1/11 at 9am. I'm a very punctual person so I arrived at 8:45, no problem I'll wait until my turn. When I first pulled up I see a sign with "temporary hours" from 10-7. Not a big deal, I do some research on my phone but then I see another customer arrive and walk up to the window and to my surprise an employee was inside. She comes to open the door and right off the bat as the other customer is walking in to the store she turns to look at me and with a rude tone and attitude says "your appointment isn't until 9 and your stylist isn't here, so you have to wait outside until they get here!" I was caught off guard from her tone and as I looked at my watch to see what time it was (it was 8:55am) she snaps at me and says "it's not 9 yet!" Well excuse me. I reply with "ok, that's fine". So I waited. At 9 o'clock another employee shows up and I assume it was my stylist, so I start walking up to the door because I figure now that she's there I can go inside like the previous customer did. Nope! I'm then told that since the stylist just arrived at what should have been our start time, she now needs 10 minutes or so to set up. At that point I was fed up. In my opinion the stylist was late. I got no apology for my time being wasted. And not to mention it was cold that morning, my poor dog was shivering. Could I have waited in my car? Sure but when I see the door being opened for another customer who I assume was scheduled at the same time and they were let in I figured I would be invited in to wait, then when I wasn't and our stylist shows up I have to wait again because she wasn't prepared to take her client and the "scheduled" time. That does not sit well with me at all. I ended up leaving and cancelled the appointment. I've worked in customer service before and that is not how you treat customers. Safe to say I will not be coming to this location again. I went ahead and rescheduled at a different location. Perhaps the employees should be trained in mannerisms as well. I didn't get the rude employees names, all I know is Samantha was our late stylist but whoever her coworker was that morning has horrible customer service etiquette. read more

ARIANA IS THE BEST!! After our mobile groomers retired, I looked around for another mobile groomer with no luck. I decided to give Unleasbed a try for my old lady Luna. She's a Husky/Golden mix and a super shedder. Ariana was our first groomer and we immediately liked her. She is great with my baby and always goes the extra mile. We have been going to her over a year and we will continue to request her. She is the best groomer there, always friendly and happy to see my girl. Scheduled a grooming for my dog weeks in advance. They called....twice...to confirm and verify and went so far to stress that I needed to keep the appointment. One hour before on the Saturday morning my pet was scheduled I was called and told that the groomer had a family emergency (on the 4th of July), and that they couldn't reschedule now and they would call me back. I cancelled plans to keep the appointment and they couldn't even reschedule another time for me, and they said they would call back. Two days later and I still dont have a call back. Bad service. Bad excuses. And little to no regard for the the time of a customer. I would buy all my supplies there (over $1k worth....no kids yet so I shed my love on my pet) but that stops now. Go to petsmart up the street (literally off H street), as they were able to schedule an appointment straight away. This place is badly run and not worth your money. read more

This review is both for the grooming services and customer service at the store. Unleashed is a smaller store than the Eastlake Petco so understandably they have less selections. Because it is smaller, help is easier to find. The lines are not too long and I haven't had the issues that I've had with the Eastlake Petco, which is errors in product scanning causing me to go back to get a refund. For the grooming section, my dog and I love our regular groomer, Ariana. Ariana loved my dog at first sight and is super patient with him even though he doesn't like his legs touched. I always receive a report card at the end of each session to see how he did for the day. Additionally, Ariana helped me to download the Petco app so that I can get rewards on grooming and she books the next appointment at my preferred day. Also, Ariana remembers the dog scent that I love and sprays it on my dog after his service. I don't have to wait long for assistance at the grooming register, which is an issue at the Eastlake Petco. Although this location is farther for me, the customer service is great and far better than Eastlake Petco. read more

I had an appointment at 4:47pm to get my kitten vaccinated. Per the instructions on the text message from Vetco Clinic, I was to reply with a '3' when I had arrived and wait in the car. At 4:55 I get a text saying it was my turn and to go check in with a staff member. In the LITERAL TWO minutes it took me to gather my bag, my kitten, and walk across a full parking lot, I was turned away because my appointment was at 4:47 and I was ten minutes late and told to reschedule. The store employees are great for the most part. The grooming facility is my issue. We absolutely loved our groomer. The manager of the spa Espy booked my dogs with another groomer even though we had requested the same groomer. The day before their grooming appointment I caught the error. I called and was informed the previous groomer was no longer there. She was there when the appointment was made. To me that is client stealing. Instead of rescheduling an appointment with a different groomer she canceled their appointment. Called customer service and asked for the DM twice. Never bothered to contact us. Now they get groomed at another Petco. read more

Just left this ridiculous store. My dog had a grooming appointment today, booked a month in advance, confirmed two weeks in advance. My huge mistake, according to the rude grooming lady, Espy, was to show up earlier. She looked at me and said in a passive aggressive attitude that she couldn't take my dog because she had to go to lunch. I pointed out that she could have said that same thing in a polite way and I would have returned when my appointment was supposed to start. Instead, because of her attitude, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my dog with her. She might be tired and stressed out for her workload (I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt), but still there is no excuse for her behavior. Talked to her manager who apparently didn't care either. Realized that after two years coming to this store for classes, grooming and pet shopping, I'll find another pet store that actually cares about their customers. read more

Used the dog wash , half the area was not clean and ready for use. The dog shampoo is watered down and the next day an offense odorless. The have no blow dries but did provide two very thin towels (one bath and one hand sized). There whet two clerks but both to had a what ever atttiude.
