This was the first grooming spot we took our little guy to, & has been a regular since. They treat him well. He's not scared to go in. Knows his human friends that take good care of him. Every now and then they surprise us with a theme bandana and Rocky struts in it every time.

We have been gone to Barking Spot a few times now, and my Peppa loves it. They are super friendly, and has been easy to get appointments. Even same day drop offs for nail trimming. They'll squeeze those services in between their appointments.

My dogs come here to get their baths/grooming and never disappoint when I pick them up. I have a senior mix poodle and they are able to give a good cut if needed. With our corgi, he sheds a lot so they are do great at de shedding. If you call, sometimes they don't answer but they are great at via text message and will be able to respond fairly quickly. Great at answering questions and booking appointments through via text. Give Barking Spot a try for your fur babies! read more

My dog's belly was shaved for absolutely no reason!!! We have been growing her hair for 2 years now since she was diagnosed with thyroid disease. We specified no trimming at the sani area but instead they shaved around the sani area plus extending it to her belly. Why? Animal cruelty as you never shave a Husky to begin with. If you schedule with a specific groomer, they will not let you know if that groomer is not going to be there to for you to reschedule. The first bad experience, I let go. This one, I could not. We love our doggy, and when wanted to find a place that was a good fit for us and for her. We all know the sad horror stories other pet owners have had. We have been bringing our pup here for 2.5 years. Kima arrives at The Barking Spot and happy to go into the back when it's grooming day with Sammi. She is also happy when we're there to pick her up. It's easy to book online, too. I feel a groomer, like a hair stylist, may also take a little bit to find what works. Kima went to another groomer as a puppy and she did not look herself. Lol. We love her puppy cuts and that she comes home happy and smelling fabulous! We don't plan on taking her anywhere else, so we're glad we live close by! Usually busy when I call, I managed to get an appointment for a couple days later. Vanessa looked after our 6 month old pup. It was an introductory bath service, so I can't speak for hair trimming etc. He was stanky and energetic when we arrived and he was still energetic when I picked him three hours later but smelt and looked so much better. Beware of Undisclosed Policies I scheduled "The Works" ($70 - includes full haircut) for my 10 lb dog. Arrived 16 minutes late and was told about a "15-minute grace period" that's nowhere in their written policies. My service was downgraded to "The Essentials" (no haircut - just bath and trimming) plus a $10 late fee was added. I checked their website policies (barkingspotsd.com/privacy-policy) - there's NO mention of: A 15-minute grace period Late arrival fees Service downgrades for being late The real problem: I was forced to pay in full AND tip BEFORE getting my dog back. Their own policy says "payment is due at the end of each service" but they made me pay without seeing the results. When I picked up my dog, I was confused there was no haircut. Staff then explained "The Essentials" doesn't include haircuts - something they didn't clearly communicate when downgrading my service. I had already tipped 20% thinking I was getting the full service. I immediately asked to refund and recharge to remove the tip since I tipped for a service that didn't include what I expected. They refused. Bottom line: They enforce policies that aren't published, make you pay before seeing your pet, don't clearly explain what's being excluded from your service, and won't make adjustments even when you raise concerns immediately at pickup. Read their service descriptions VERY carefully and ask detailed questions about what's included vs excluded. The "Essentials" name is misleading - it doesn't include essential services like haircuts. read more

The so-called "Guera" here is costing the business owner serious money!!!! We're not taking any from our kennel there any longer and neither are any of the members from our clubs. Unprofessional, rude, and a scammer. Apparently she gets to choose prices based on her attitude or monthly cycle, but I'm sure that will be news to the owner too when he reads this. Location is optimal and we have the demand for the service but we'll be taking business elsewhere. There's no way keeping her on payroll is not a net negative. I can't imagine this is an isolated incident.

I called and spoke with Monica, explained the situation, and she was able to get me in within two hours. I am so grateful for her. From the moment we spoke, she was kind, caring, and incredibly helpful. When I arrived, she examined the dog's coat and clearly explained the process and services included. The prices were great--especially considering all the services included with the full grooming (bath, haircut, nail trimming, and more). I was honestly surprised at how reasonable the price was. On top of that, due to the circumstances, they even gave me a discount to help my elderly neighbor. That truly says a lot about their character and their business. They had a process, from intaking me as a customer, to filling out the proper paperwork (as a first time customer for them). When I came in they did an analysis on my dog to determine what is needed, and asked me what I would like to have happen. They did a great job on grooming my pet and make sure he smelled good at the end. They provided me recommendations on how often to come in. They gave my dog praises and a treat once he was done. They provided pictures of how the results were prior to my picking him up. They provided in detail any items to pay attention to that they noticed. Great job on being thorough and taking care of the customer. Great job on treating other customers (not just myself, but I observed how they treated others as well). If there were any downsides to mention, it would be that their prices are a little more on the premium side than what I'm used to (as my previous groomer for my dog parted ways with her employer, so I had to find a new one). I recently had the misfortune of taking my pet to Barking Spot for a grooming session and I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I've had at a pet grooming business. The groomer completely botched my dog's haircut, leaving it uneven and with visible knots throughout. It was as if they didn't even bother to properly groom my pet. What's worse, the manager was completely unprofessional and rude when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the service. I had made an appointment and made it clear that I wanted my pet to receive the best possible care, but the manager responded with a sarcastic remark that showed complete disregard for my concerns. To make matters even worse, it seems that the business has recently undergone a change of ownership and the new owner is completely absent. The staff refused to provide me with any information about how to reach the new owner to make him aware of the mishandling of his business. Overall, I would not recommend Barking Spot to anyone who cares about their pet's well-being and wants a professional and courteous grooming experience. 1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointed With The Barking Spot Dog Groomers My experience at The Barking Spot Dog Groomers was unbelievably frustrating from start to finish. The lack of communication is astounding--no timely updates, no clear instructions, and no courtesy call when issues came up. To make matters worse, they provided misinformation about their hours, which caused major inconvenience when planning pickup. They also force customers into inconvenient pickup times, even when those times don't align with what they originally tell you and what's listed online/on the store front. I was text their "systems were down," meaning they expected cash-only payment, but still insisted I arrive before their incorrect closing time they had given me earlier. It felt unprofessional and completely disorganized. Overall, they were inconsiderate of my schedule and commitments, and gave the impression that customers should rearrange their entire day to accommodate the business's inconsistencies. i have been going to my vet's groomer and petco off and on for the past 2 years. I was never fully happy with the results. I reached out to friends and one recommended me here. I was blown away by how amazing they left both of my dogs, especially my poodle. it is my first time owning a poodle and have not been able to get a hang of the daily grooming. he was so matted (poor baby) and i knew they needed to shave him. he looks so great and now I am goinr to become a more responsible poodle owner and maintain his coat better. thank you for taking care of my two babies. read more

I can't say enough good things about Barking Spot! They exceeded my expectations with the detailed schnauzer cut I requested for my pup. Not only did the grooming turn out perfect, but my dog actually enjoyed the experience, which says a lot about the care and attention the staff provide.
