Run for the hills, really bad experience, that's when the nightmare started, this is what I experienced as the rest of the people here. Alan is verbally abusive. He makes excuse after excuse, he tells you that your hot tub is not worth the time because he has to make 1000 a day, with the man power he uses to fix my tub, he'll get to it when he can... yada yada yada. He also told me he's the only one that can fix my tub no one else knows how. He doesn't shut up, just yells at you. Unfortunately i was locked in with him fixing the tub as it was an escrow close. He wouldn't talk to me in the end because he said he doesn't work for me any more. Even though I was the one paying him. I was at work and he said if I don't Zelle him the money ASAP (a partial payment) then he would charge me for ever minute it took me to pay him. I was in a meeting? He threatens you. It took him 3 months to fix my hot tub. He had to put the hot tub on its side and scratched it. I have never been so abused by any one fixing stuff at my house. I called another vendor and had a top in 5 days delivered to me. Avoid Allan and universal at all costs. Our hot tub stopped working and Alan came out the next day. Within 10 minutes he found the issue and had the part I needed in his truck. Works great again. Gave me a few general tips on how to care for it and he was on his way. Very reasonable also! read more

Allen Labrak, owner of Universal Spa Service and A1 Hot Tub, does not pay his bills and will not receive a warranty on the equipment for spas that he purchased. So, you as a customer will end up holding the bag. I would not recommend anyone to do business with him. He is dishonest and untrustworthy. I am his supplier for control systems for spas. I've used Allen for about 4 months. At first he was very responsive and his guys came out. Well, they conned me into 2 pumps and gave me some excuse that it needed both pumps at the same time (because I just bought a controller but not from him). After he got his money, I called for a leak. He blew me off 7 times. Said "reschedule due to weather". "Be there tomorrow" etc. he NEVER contacted me, they just didn't show up. I now have another leak by the pump they put in. It's been 3 weeks and he's blown me off 3 times. When I actually got ahold of him on. The phone once, he was extremely arrogant and pretty much blamed me for all his useless visits. I actually have him on camera "fixing the other side (not where the leak was) and of course he blames me for useless visit (I've been out there so many times, I have other clients too". So in summary. He got my big money and wouldn't come back. I will NOT recommend him to anyone!!! I wish I would have read these reviews first. it would have saved me from a ton of fustration. Definitely if you have time to work with his schedule you won't regret it. We spend lots of money having someone coming to fix a leak and never was fixed but we spent lots of $$$. A year later Alan came and within 10 mins and an hour later it was fixed with an unbeatable price. I hired Allan from Universal Spa Service to fix a leaky hot tub. At first, he was very professional and communicative. But as time went on and the leak persisted, it became harder and harder to get him to come back out and finish the job he was hired and paid to do. I would have to repeatedly ask him when he was coming out next, and I would never receive an exact date or time. He would just text me when he was on the way. 4 long months and nearly $2,000 later, I still had a leaky hot tub. I was very patient all summer but with winter approaching, I began to get annoyed with the situation. It was just taking too long. When I expressed my frustration with him, he was combative and even threatened to "bury me" should I write a negative review. The truth is, I paid Allan a significant amount of money to fix something and he failed miserably, clearly moving on to other easier jobs and making me his lowest priority. If I could give more stars, I would! We bought our hot tub in Summer 2019 from American Sale. Two months in, we needed them to come out and service it. They managed to break the diverter while trying to reuse a $2 rubber ring. I found a guy on Angie's list who came out a few weeks later and said he couldn't fix it, but would give me $500 to take it off my hands. At this point, it was less than a year old. It was insanely discouraging. A neighbor then suggested I reach out to Alan instead the next season and I'll never use anyone else! He responded right away and was busy, but managed to fit us in. He came out, looked it over, and explained to us what needed to happen, what could wait until next season to fix, and what was working. He was here for over an hour and didn't charge us. A week later, he was back with one of his awesome employees and spent two hours fixing our then 20 month old tub. It worked better than the first time we plugged it in! He called a week later to make sure it was working properly and that we were satisfied. Legitimately, I will never use anyone else. read more
