Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. Tony, the foreman, and his team were extremely detail-oriented and did exceptional work. The craftsmanship really shows in the finished bathroom. Everything looks carefully installed and precise, and the tile work in particular is incredibly clean. Construction & More... A Remodel Nightmare Our kitchen and…read morebathroom remodel with Construction & More (C&M) was an extremely frustrating experience. We chose C&M because their proposal fit our budget, they committed to a 1-2 month completion timeline in the contract, and their Google reviews gave us confidence in moving forward. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. The project began on April 28, 2026, with an expected completion by the end of June. Our kitchen and bathrooms were not completed until August 15. Here are some of the major issues we encountered: Incorrect permit C&M pulled a permit for what was described as a "like-for-like" remodel, even though the project involved moving closet walls, relocating plumbing fixtures, and adding a new electrical subpanel. We were subsequently required to address the permitting issue, resulting in approximately $1,200 in permit costs and several weeks of delay. Multiple failed plumbing inspections The bathroom plumbing failed two rough inspections due to the same issue: improper horizontal venting. By late July, we were extremely concerned about getting the plumbing corrected. We consulted three independent plumbers, and all three recommended removing the existing installation and starting over. When I raised these concerns with Joseph, the project manager, and explained that correcting the plumbing was estimated to cost approximately $10,000, his response was essentially that I should hire someone else if I didn't trust him. C&M ultimately brought in their plumbing company, which removed all of the existing plumbing and installed it again correctly. We finally passed the plumbing inspection on July 30. Kitchen did not match the agreed-upon design One of our specific design requirements was for the kitchen cabinets to extend to the ceiling. They did not. This was a major disappointment because it was clearly discussed as a "must-have" element of the design. Poor project management and communication The final month was particularly difficult. When we asked for realistic completion dates, Joseph frequently became defensive and frustrated, and we were repeatedly told that various items would be completed "by Friday." Those dates repeatedly came and went. The biggest issue was the lack of clear project management and accountability. We often felt that commitments were being made without a realistic understanding of what remained to be completed. My husband, who is very handy, ultimately spent approximately 10 days working at the house himself to help get it ready for our family members' July 30 move-in. He also needed to be on-site to monitor the work and make sure issues were addressed correctly. I want to be clear that I do not blame the individual crew members, who worked hard and were generally doing their best under difficult circumstances. My concerns are primarily with project management. In particular, I found Joseph to be disengaged and dismissive throughout much of the project. He was not present for any of the inspections and often relied on an assistant to photograph the progress rather than coming to the job site himself to assess the work. After months of delays, rework, failed inspections, and frustration, we finally passed our final inspection on August 26 and can put this experience behind us. To be fair, there were times when C&M worked hard to get the project completed, and we are ultimately pleased with the finished kitchen and bathrooms. However, the process was far more difficult and time-consuming than it should have been. This was our fourth major remodeling project, and by far our most difficult experience. I am sharing our experience because I believe prospective customers deserve to know what happened--not simply how the finished project looks, but what it took to get there. If you are considering Construction & More, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about permitting, who will perform the plumbing and electrical work, inspection procedures, project management, and how delays and missed completion dates are handled before signing a contract.

Long overdue review! We hired United Pro Handyman (led by Ilya) in January 2024 for a remodel,…read moreincluding relocating an entry door, adding a partition wall, closing off a fireplace, removing built-ins, interior painting, and exterior stucco work. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The main issue arose with the exterior stucco work, which began cracking within days. Ilya sent his guy to fix the problem and his guy just applied another layer of stucco to cover the cracks! After one week, the cracks became evident and had worsened. My husband and I have decided to go with a different contractor to fix this issue. I had informed ILya about this and he initially agreed to reimburse us for a stucco patch. During this time, we decided to legalize the remodel. From the city inspection, we found out that the problem wasn't just superficial--underneath the stucco, we discovered improper waterproofing, incorrect lathing, and screws that did not comply with California code. This oversight could have led to much larger structural issues in the future. When I explained that this was not simply a patch job but required a complete redo of waterproofing, lathing, and screw replacements, Ilya became unresponsive. Alex, the manager, visited our site multiple times during the project in January and even guaranteed a one-year warranty, promising to provide a formal contract after we made full payment. Despite repeated follow-ups with Andrei, the estimator, we never received that contract. If you're considering United Pro Handyman, I strongly advise you to demand a binding quote or contract that includes all warranties before making any down payment. Be cautious of their "choice" between a 10% discount but you pay for the materials or no discount but they will shoulder the cost of materials--insist that they cover materials, especially for larger projects. They purchased unnecessary items, including insulation pads that were never used, resulting in a complete waste of money. As of today, our newly stucco wall is now ready to be painted. We passed all inspections and it feels so good to know everything was done correctly. We regret our decision to work with United Pro Handyman and recommend others proceed with extreme caution.

From the start of the design project, they used high quality sub contractors for design, engineering, and all the trades in the house. Fernando, our project manager was incredible. He approached the project with a keen eye for details and took total ownership over the sub contractors. He would stop by almost every night to ensure that the subs were performing their work and not leaving or damaging any other contractors' work. Sarmad is a problem solver. He sees an issue and thinks through how to solve it, then presents clear options to choose from. Throughout the process, we were not surprised by unanticipated expenses - all changes were clearly explained and we had the option to make changes via clear change orders. EDR uses Buildertrend for all program management and billing, which made payments, change approvals, and scheduling tracking seamless. While this sounds like a basic requirement in 2026, not all contractors use these services which just adds friction to the process. We couldn't recommend EDR more for the quality of work on our house, the schedule execution, care for detail, and just taking care of our project. Along the way, we never felt nickel & dimed, and the value of their services definitely exceeded our expectations.
