Without going into specifics, I've had two separate experiences at this post office ( 45 Bay Street ) both regarding the exact same issue, and they couldn't have been more different! On my first visit, I was extremely disappointed. The employees I dealt with were dismissive , condescending , and unhelpful, making what should have been a straightforward process frustrating and stressful. Both employees were female, one was a manager, both left me feeling upset and I promised I would avoid going back there again. A few months go by and unfortunately I was left with only one option , I would need to make an in person visit to this location again . I can't describe the anxiety I felt and wish I could've avoided it entirely . After procrastinating a few days, I worked up enough confidence to go . On this second visit, I was helped by a male employee who completely turned things around. He was professional, respectful and made sure the minor issue I had was addressed properly and fast! He smiled and in my opinion set a good example for other employees.His kindness and knowledge made all the difference, and I left feeling grateful and relieved. On the contrary, my first visit , both females attending to my minor issue--- including the manager expressed poor body language , condescending voice tone, also rolling their eyes, making me feel as if I were a burden just because I was a customer . It's frustrating that the level of service at 45 Bay Street can be so inconsistent depending on who you work with. I hope the positive example I experienced can become the standard, because customers deserve the same helpful, respectful treatment every time they walk in. Thankyou!

They forged my signature and dropped the box in front of my door in a black plastic bag. Opened the bag the box is soaking wet and smelled like vinegar. Took it back to the post office the next day and explained to the supervisor, it was delivered signature required I never signed and presented her the box inside the plastic bag. She whispered to the teller "those are MTA uniforms" then tells me they had an entire shipment of boxes that came to them wet. Yet instead of sending them back and saying it was damaged in transit they decided to send them to me. Because of my connections I called another post office and had them run the tracking number and I was told "someone signed it as if they were you and they spelled your first name wrong" . Isn't that a federal offense? The supervisor sent it back "refused" so, now I have to call the uniform company and tell them what happened and let them know to look out for the damaged box and to resend the uniforms to me once they receive the package. I have so many horror stories from this post office including my income tax check never made it to me and it was cashed. IRS did an investigation sent me another check. That one was cashed too but, yet it made it to the post office both times. I'm over them.

This is one of the worst USPS locations I've ever been to. Every time I go there I leave…read moredisappointed. 1) It looks like a 1980 USPS location. Nothing is automated. Even if you need a stamp or you need to mail something simple you need to see an attendant. 2) There isn't a bin or a location where you can drop anything bigger than a letter which already has a label or stamp. So, once again you need to stay in line to see an attendant. 3) Regardless of what time of day you go, there's just one attendant on duty and a lot of people show up trying to ship something to NASA because they take forever. So the line takes a long time to move. 4) Parking is a nightmare. I saw someone getting a ticket because he did not feed the meter at 6:50pm (meters work just until 7pm) so you can see there are lots of greedy guards around. Try to do everything you can to avoid visiting this location. Bayonne is still stuck on the 80s and this USPS location is a clear example of that.
