She's paranoid…read moreof Covid, won't touch anything with a stamp affixed to it that requires licking, despite that theory of transmission being dispelled a year ago. Sits there with gloves, mask, and face shield, and is very snippy with customers. I saw her yell at 3 people while I was in line last time I was in. Two of them yelled back. Generally, post office is rather slow, and often unreliable for receiving packages. But this location is clean, at least. 3 stars because it's much nicer than the hell hole I used to have to go to in Brooklyn.

If you're looking for the definition of incompetent, this is exactly where you'll find it…read more I came in on a fine Thursday afternoon to drop off a package with a prepaid USPS shipping label that I had purchased through eBay. I patiently waited in line, and when it was finally my turn, the experience was honestly unbelievable. The associate behind the counter attempted to scan my label 4-5 times and couldn't get it to scan. No problem -- things happen. She then proceeded to manually enter the tracking number into the system. While doing so, she was simultaneously carrying on a conversation with her manager/another associate about "lawyering up" over something and giggling throughout the conversation. I'm all for a fun workplace and employees having good relationships with their coworkers. That's not the issue. The issue is when that conversation takes priority over actually paying attention to the customer you're servicing. She entered the tracking number multiple times, apparently couldn't locate it in the system, and then simply told me that the label was invalid and that she couldn't accept my package. I was standing there watching the entire process thinking, Wow... seriously? The frustrating part is that she never seemed particularly interested in figuring out what was actually wrong with the label. Instead, after a few attempts while being distracted by her conversation, the conclusion was simply, "I can't take this." Maybe the label was the issue. Maybe the system was the issue. But the way this was handled made it impossible for me to have any confidence that either was actually checked properly. I walked out with the same package I came in with, despite having a legitimate prepaid shipping label, and had to find another way to get it shipped. Man. What a life.

Before typing my review I read the most recent one and i've had the same exact experience!…read more I only go to the post office to ship my Poshmark packages when I make the sale. I visited this location two weeks ago where the lady stated I couldn't ship the package because the label didn't say the date of the day i'm shipping it. I never had that problem before so I drove to my bf's house so he can print the label and drove back where I ran into the USPS driver who took my package with no problem and he didn't even look at the date on the label. Today I was finally able to ship another sale I made on Poshmark on a Thursday but ran into the same annoying issue. My bf's computer broke so he couldn't print the label for me until two days later than due to Memorial Day USPS was closed on Monday so here I am, Tuesday trying to ship my package. When walking in I noticed it was the same lady as last time and knew she would give me a hard time. After waiting 15 minutes she said she can't take my package because it does not say today's date and her name will be on it once she scans it. I nicely explained to her how I don't have a printer, my printing resources are limited and how every other USPS does not give me this issue. She said no again, dismissed me, and took the next customer. I usually ship my packages by my job but since i'm currently working from home i've started to visit the post offices in Bayonne. There has been times where i've shipped packages days after the label date and never had push back so this is new for me. Poshmark gives us 7 to 10 days to ship our packages due to COVID so I wish this lady would lighten up a bit due to the circumstances. I guess i'll be visiting the post office in downtown Bayonne instead for my Poshmark packages.

I was there yesterday, thought it would be a simple matter to send a certified letter & be in & out of there in a few minutes. Well, it would have except that the clerk is SO busy chatting about personal things to every person who she serves that it took 20 minutes to get to the front of the line (even though there were only 2 people in front of me!). She was chatting LOUDLY with a customer about what age they will each get their social security benefits, how their benefit amount is calculated, etc. I have been here many times before & It's always the same thing. The clerk almost seems like she's drunk or otherwise "altered" - her behavior is that inappropriate. I hope that someone in a management position reads this review & does something about this. I believe we DO need a downtown post office, but need more hours & definitely better staffing!
