Exceptional customer service is becoming harder to find, so when you experience it, it's important to recognize it! My sister Tiffany and I stopped by this post office in Macon, GA to mail a large number of envelopes, and we were running out of time. JoAnna noticed we were trying to get everything finished and, without hesitation, came over to help us place stamps on our envelopes. She didn't have to do that, but her kindness, patience, and genuine willingness to help meant more than she probably realizes. She was so selfless, understanding, cheerful, and caring. She truly went above and beyond to make sure we got everything mailed on time, and we are incredibly grateful. It's rare to see someone step in with such a positive attitude simply because they want to help another person. I'd also like to recognize her colleague who assisted me while I purchased the stamps. She greeted me with a warm smile, was friendly, pleasant, and professional, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. A certified letter was sent to Jones County Superior Court in Gray GA from the Bibb Superior Court in Macon GA on 2/5/26. On 2/17/26 it stated "Moved Left No Address." How did the Post Office in Gray GA move and the Court House due to both addresses are on the certfied letter. Called the 800 number today (3/24/26) was of no assistance becasue I could not speak to a customer service rep. but it was of no assistance. However, it stated delivery is taking longer than expected but as of 2/18/26 according to your Confirm Delivery it states the envelope is still at your Gainesville FL distribution Center. This is a very critical issue due to Jones County cannot move forward until they receive the envelope. It is now almost 3/5/26. read more

Main postal branch so it's always busy. Unusually well staffed and the line usually moves quickly. You can also get passport service at this location. Parking is terrible, the parking lot was split in half years back so if one side is full you have to exit out into traffic to see if there's a space available on the other side. read more

They refused to deliver my package. The package was about the size of a 5 gallon bucket, roughly 15x12 inches, weighing 24 lbs. USPS package weight limit is 70 lbs and the carriers are supposed to be able to carry between 50-70 lbs. The lady who took my call said that it was too big for the truck. I questioned her on this, saying that there had already been one delivery attempt on 10/7/2024 (which she denied.) But if there wasn't, then why did I get an "out for delivery" message? and a "delivery attempted" message, which also lied - stating the reason for not leaving my package was "mailbox was full" but how can that be true if it was too big for the mailbox in the first place?! The lady herself admitted that it was too big for the mailbox. The initial message also said that there would be another delivery attempt, but there never was. I waited until the 10th to call about my package and schedule a redelivery and set it for the 11th, but again, there was no delivery. I called again on the 12th asking where my package was because now the message read "being held for pickup." And USPS not delivering it because it's too big for the mailbox is BS because when you try to reschedule a delivery, you have the option for a porch delivery, which is what I requested on the 2 times I tried for a redelivery. If the package is too big or clunky for the carrier (and I tried asking for a different carrier but was denied,) then that carrier isn't qualified for their position. It really feels like this carrier just didn't want to be bothered trying to attempt delivering it. Lastly, I told her I couldn't drive so pick up wasn't an option for me. SHE SUGGESTED I GET AN UBER OR TAKE THE BUS. Imagine having to pay money or take the bus because the mail refuses to delivery your package! I explained that due to the medical condition which prevented me from driving also made it difficult to pick up heavy packages, so taking the bus was out of the question, and she instead just pushed for me to return the package then. So it looks like if you're disabled or can't drive for whatever reason, then you're out of luck! read more

It seems that Macon distribution center on college st will steal your mail and then blame other facilities. Even when faced with the fact that the package was last scanned in at this facility. It's been over a month. read more

I don't know what the problem is but when I am waiting all day for a package and normally my mail shows up at a 11:00 to 11:30 am. Then the normal carrier is off and these people take an extra 5 hours to deliver and when I have to leave no matter what that's when they show up. Maybe defunding the post office is a good thing because they don't want to delivery the mail in a timely fashion. read more

So i recently sold some airpods on Mercari. Shipped first class from here. They were packaged inside and mailed here. This happened this week. The person that bought them messaged me today. They requested a refund and to return the items. When i mailed the airpods, they were working perfectly. I even tested them inside this post office. So, the buyer recieved the yesterday. They were damaged bad. The case was cracked. One of the airpods didn't work at all, and the other barely works. They were damaged in Shipping. I lost $20 in sales because of this place. I paid to have them boxed in bubble wrap, yet the buyer recieved them in a yellow envelope, with a sheet of bubble wrap placed inside, not even wrapped around the airpods. Thanks a lot guys. With me being out of my element I like everyone else used my GPS and located the nearest Post Office. Upon my discovery there was no Kiosk for self service after hours. One special employee directed me to the individual I needed to fill my extreme emergency request. By far above and beyond her duties and scope Dianne Hightower assisted me to ship my extremely sensitive parcel out. I've visited this post office twice and have no complaints. Each visit, I've been able to get in and out in a matter of minutes. The employees could be a bit more jolly and they could also be a bit less jolly... essentially, they respectfully greet you, but don't expect them to ask you how your day is going... and I don't mind that as I'm only there to handle business. I did find their recent quote of the week to be quite hilarious and also surprising to be posted in a government building -- "Put a perm on your attitude. Relax!" read more

Horrible customer service! We have left message numerous times for someone to call us about our business mail. I would rate them lower than a 1 due to several problems over the years and same outcome. Post Master is just as bad as employees. read more

If I could give zero stars to a post office this would be the one to get it. These people are incompetent and have no concept of how the US Postal Service is supposed operate. They have lost two packages so far within a three month period. In that post office, it's almost as if someone in the post office has stolen the packages. The tracking numbers show the packages are still there but they've been there since December 18. When you complain these people treat you like shit. When you call other post offices in the region, they will tell you yes this is a very bad post office. They need to fire everybody in that post office including the postal inspector, and all the managers all the way down to pick up and delivery and just start over. I'm over 742 miles away in Texas. But my experience with this post office has been less than stellar. People in Macon, you need to raise hell and get things changed in Macon Georgia. See picture I posted. read more
